For those who see this in the future it's easier to start removing the power button plate thing from the left side where the fan is and as for thermal paste only apply a small amount to each of the chips with something like Arctic MX-4 which is not electrically conductive. You also generally don't need to spread it around which can create air bubbles, instead just put it right in the middle of each one then go tightening each screw down a little at a time until snug. Thermal paste is used to fill in the small scratches and gaps between the heatsink and the CPU so not very much is needed.
As a small update, thanks new thermal paste and cleaning, it went down to 70c max from being mostly at 90c-105c all the time and even lasts a little longer on battery.

Correct, but if you put really small amount, the layer becomes very thin and it dryers much faster.

Thanks for the video. I found this model hard to strip down due to all the different types of screws used. I needed to remove the motherboard to replace the broken power socket but to be honest I am going to just leave it as this model looks like its going to take many hours to do this. Thanks anyway.

It is not my laptop, but a customer one, so is long gone. About the thermal paste, just clean the old one with alcohol and apply thin layer of the new one. You can you your finger or a plastic spatula. About the touch pad, you need to remove the palm rest. Did you try to enable wifi from the touch button. Also do you see any wifi adapter in device manager or no.
Assalamu alaikum sir, i have the same laptop and recently it won't start up only the battery the one with ⚡diod is blinking about 10 times, is there anything i can do myself or just take it to a repear shop
First try different working HP adapter. Probably the middle pin of the adapter is bad and the laptop cannot recognize it.

It should fit. Just check are both with discrete or integrated video cards.
Do these come pre-installed with Windows 10 or do I have to manually do that?
They don't come preinstalled. This is old laptop so i doubt it will come with windows 10. You have to install it manually

@@urdngarin8034 Cheap paste is not good. Are you sure all the drivers are installed on windows. Ubuntu install all the drivers, but in windows you have to do it manually. Depend on the CPU of the other laptop.

Yes, if you upgrade RAM and the specs
I mean, it would probably be possilbe. I would recommend upgrading the CPU to i7-620M (which might be possible, I am not entirely sure if the CPU is soldered onto the motherboard) and Increasing the RAM to 8GB (4GB x 2 of DDR3).
@@notesyes6036 Still, the graphics card on that computer can't be upgraded and it's highly unlikely that it will be able to handle GTA V
