- In this video I am upgrading 2010 HP ProBook 6450b laptop to current specs.
Old specs:
320GB HDD
Two 2GB 1333MHz DDR3 SODIMM SDRAM
Windows 7 Professional
New specs:
250GB SSD
Two 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SODIMM SDRAM
Ubuntu 18.04LTS (upgraded to 20.04LTS in 2020)
Processor was not changed.

I found one of these in the trash. It didn't have the battery nor the ac adapter, i purchased an ac adapter on amazon, but it arrives in like 2 weeks. Once it arrives i will see if it still works, and see if i may have to buy a new hard drive as well.

It supports 8gb + 8gb total 16gb sir... I'm already using it and it's super fast

I have the same laptop and I have windows 10. It works but it is damn slow. I want a few os that is clean and one that i can use Google meet, watch youtube and code in. Could u recommend me some?
The boot up maybe will faster if choose log in automatically during installation

Hi, I have the same laptop as yours i.e. HP ProBook 6450b. I have increased the ram to 8 gb. However I have only 64 mb of video memory. Will it be possible to increase its video memory ?
Note : The graphics driver installed is Intel HD Graphics.
i have not tried it.
my laptop is very old now also its been over a decade so quite hard to find parts. you can keep it for simple use keeping in mind that most of the tech from that era is kind of obsolete/out-of-market.
btw i am using ubuntu on my laptop and so far it is working okay. yes the display is not great but manageable.

You may have to take out the optical disk drive and swap it with hdd or ssd. that is one possibility. but do check the specs and compatibility.

I think so, both 6450b and 6550b are designed in the same way. If you are unsure you should do a bit of research.

@@cvrajarshi not sure. the laptop spec does not specify that much storage space. i had doubts when i purchased 250gb ssd. was not sure if it would work. 500gb ssd... fingers crossed.

yes it has webcam. but i have put a tape on it.
I think win10 can support this
I have W10 on this model and it works just fine, but SSD and at leaast 8GB of ram is needed.
