Thanks so much for this, I just changed the screen cable on my cq61 using your dismantling instructions. There seem to be lots of videos about changing the screen for this model but none for the screen cable. Once someone de-mystifies this stuff it isn't half so scary.
I apologize for that, I left out the part of the video but I will help you to get rid of, in my video in 6: 34-6: 41 minutes see the plastic that I took off on the back of this platike there is a power button is attached with two screws, just remove the two screws and that's it you remove the power button. Upgrading the ram maybe would speed it up a bit but I don't think it would solve the problem. You should replace the HDD with a SSD (this is very important). Clean the fan and change thermal paste if it gets hot. A clean installation of the OS on the new hard drive strongly recommend, instead of the migration of the old windows. If you need to install windows again then also upgrading the ram would be useful. But for outdated hardware consider some lightweight Linux distro (check xubuntu or mint with xfce). These are cheap upgrades, some work and patience are needed but you'll be amazed by the results
I took apart my laptop that's exactly like yours. I needed to.replace the USB ports on the right side of the PC. In haste, i took it apart without marking which screws went in a particular area. Is there a guide online that shows the various screw sizes of the laptop? Please advice.
