I seldom ever submit any critical comments on anyone's videos, but this time I can't help myself. I guess it's just personal preference, but in my opinion I think the car looks absolutely ridiculous with those oversized tires and lifted up so much. I guess the bottom line is that if you're happy with it, that's all that matters.
No matter what you do. You will still be 1 wheel drive. Along with no ground clearance, you will need some real suspension flex. You should have just bought a Jeep.
I'm sorry, that is not welding. He spot welded the panel in place which has ZERO structural integrity and then covered it with JB weld which will do nothing except hold the patches in place. You seriously have comprimised the strength of that shell and should disclose when you sell.
Be prepared for that engine to puke and/or the transmission to undergo an unexpected rapid disassembly. The output crankshaft torque is now severely challenged.
@@nofear2trek I suggested finding an old school alignment shop to setup the caster/camber and front to rear settings. A shop that does the final setup for folks with the lifted trucks and jeeps and side-by-sides know what to do. Inexpensive? Probably not. Necessary? I would think so.
You talk about rewrapping the car in about four or five years? I don’t think you’re going to have the car in 4/5 years because of the structural damage that you did to the front wheel wells and the chips from all the rocks hitting the paint. You will not want to deal with keeping up with that. Safe travels my friend.
Eric, I doubt you'll have that car in 5 years to wrap it, it's just not your style. That said, it does look pretty cool and with the very short wheelbase you should never have a problem with high centering. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.

i'm still really nervous about how close those back tires are to the frame. especially when you went over a few bumps im pretty sure they hit the car. ofc you can re-watch and see for yourself and you'd know if you felt it hit in that moment but that seems like it might be a problem. anyway it looks pretty cool i hope it makes you happy!

Comments for tracker..dad buys Cooper off road tires for his 4x4s likes the grip in winter and says rides quiuter on road..not much road noise compared to other tires..could paint with bed liner like camper van Kevin 😳 will not scratch that way.... I like it..😊😊
not a good idea to remove structural members of a car frame ,just be careful going in and out of parking lots with a big dip at the entrance ,,they can really twist the frame. It looked much better the original way BUT to each his own.
Cool, when kids were young they had toy cars that you could put a penny in the back and it would do wheelies. They were called micro machines. That exactly how your smart car looks now. Hope it holds up and you dont regret it. We put larger tires on our tracker and it went from being a sped machine to something you don't ever want to sped in. The handling went way down, ride was way harder and well it looks cool, the gas milage isn't that great anymore.
So much fun! Thank you for keeping things interesting. Wouldn't it be boring if you were just driving around staring out your front window all the time. I guess some people forgot that you like wacky stuff. And this is cool and wacky at the same time.
Something you may want to consider when driving on dirt with pot holes and such, you might want to do what Jeepers do and lower your air pressure in your tires. It will make the ride a bit smoother. Do some research on that before you do it but you might find that lower air pressure off road might help. Just a suggestion for something you may want to consider. Pat
This is NOT a Put Down Eric... just a question.. you have replaced the original tires with tires that are many times bigger and heavier .. which means a lot more traction on the road surface. But the tires are actually attached to the car by the original three lug bolts ... not four bolts. Won't the torque of exceleration and stopping possibly shear those three lug bolts off ? Once again... not trying to throw a wet towel on your fun... just curious. John
Uh oh. Eric, dude, I am sorry but that in no way looks "badass" 😂😂😂 It looks like it wants to flop onto its side if you run a turn too tight and just die. I am glad you are okay with it but yeah, it might get you attention but it'll get you no envy. Love you anyway, bruh. Stay safe out there!
Really concerned how close those back tires are to the frame. can you imagine going on the highway over a few bumps I am not sure how this car stability will be a formula for a disaster.
I love the raised look, now a couple push bumpers and lights, a roof rack with lights and BAM... the only thing Im not totally digging is where the stripe starts at the front, I think it chould have radiused off the flare not notched like you did but its not my car....
That would be interesting, mainly for those abroad outside US, to know the official legalization details of the amendments you did in the car. Here in my country I doubt if a car like that would pass in the yearly inspection.
Don't mean this in a negative way. When you purchase a new vehicle, do upgrades on it. Do you feel that you are putting more into the updates. Then, what you purchase the vehicle for?
All Eric has to do now is put a lift kit on his RV with some monster tires and put some loud mufflers on both the RV and Smart car and wrap it to look like a real Tator Tot. 🙂

There will be less power and the speedometer will no longer be accurate and I don't think that can be compensated for. The smaller wheels is like my 50 cc moped which has 10" wheels, the 100 cc models have 12" and they arent interchangeable, 12" tires on a 50cc would loose a lot of the power and the speedometer wont be accurate any more either. The 10" tires dont feel as stable on turns and things as larger ones
its a weekly checkin to see what CVK and eric are changing ,,buying or selling.. BTW you will be stopped in the state of GA for no mud flaps on the open fenders
I'm not going to respond to every single comment of this nature, but just so you know, mudflaps are required only if the vehicle is lifted more than 8" off the pavement. I'm at about 5" so I don't need mudflaps in any state.
