    Hi guys, just wanted to say great editing and in-depth looks on this. Side by side video for the viewer of the battery powered units on both legacy and the the new battery technology compared to the equivalent powered mains tool is fantastic. Really really grateful for the content and time you guys put in as i'm not able to just pick up 100 different tools and test them out each year before pulling the notes out of the wallet to make the real world best purchase choices. So thank you to you guys for putting the time and effort in for us viewers, I whitelist your channel from my RUclips adblocker on desktop and watch ads on my phone to make sure you guys (touch wood) get the rewards back for the effort you put in. I'm watching from the other side of the planet! Watching from London, thumbs up on this vid & GOODAY MATE!

    Unit is a beast, so happy to see Bosch releasing some great new 18V tools. Now they have the best recipro, best grinder, best multitool. All they got to do now is release a new Impact driver

    • @StewFairweather

      To be honest, Bosch's GDX 18V-EC (not sure what it's called in US/OZ) brushless impact, although it's 3/4 years old is still a beast. Especially if you pair it with the Core/Eneracer batteries. Those batteries give all the tools a bit of a boost. Highly recommend them.

    I dont think it was thermal protection but rather anti kick feature - which sensed that the disk got stuck and shut off to prevent the kickback.

    Technically its the second brush less grinder Bosch have made, their little 10.8v unit is also brush less. Never the less this is a great step for them in particular the eneracer battery and the Bluetooth connectivity.

    Also thing to note: where they say its 1000W doesn't mean they have compared it to a 1000W grinder. What they are refering to is much more likely the fact that with the Core batteries, it can output ~55Amp to the motor. This therefore gets you the 1000W of power. Using the tool though will see temperature spike and maybe the amps drop to accommodate for that, and thats why you see the performance not the same to 1000W corded. Because a corded tool is always going to run at MAX input power. Thats why its super easy to burn out a corded motor if you don't know how to use tools.

    • @OZToolTalk
      @OZToolTalk  7 лет назад

      [Dwain] I see your point, but the actual Bosch marketing claims, "Delivers power equal to 1000 W corded "

  • @Wroom90
    @Wroom90 6 лет назад +2

    I have now tried my ginder for some hours. The power is better than the old version, and size significantly bigger, but fits well in your hand! It is very easy to switch the protecting shield position around, and can easily be taken off. The power of the motor is fairly good with a 5 or 6 ah battery - maybe it's better with the eneracer battery? Comparing it with Makita' new brushless grinder you can feel that the Bosch model is much stronger!
    The tool also have some interesting bluetooth features, which I think are not as useful as being cool. I don't like about the tool that if you slip the power button you need to stop the machine again completely before restarting it. If I would buy the grinder again I would stick with the model without the bluetooth stuff.

      wei shu the bosch core 6.3 batteries have been out in the USA market for 3 months and make every bosch tool I have at least slightly more powerful. However the new brushless grinder is not out in the USA. A putty because I use a cordless grinder beyond capacity more than any other cordless tool I use. The brushed bosch cordless grinder I have has held up well for almost 2 years now, but I could certainly get jobs done quicker with more power.

    I think you’ve got the designations the wrong way around. From looking at the grinders on Bosch’s website that you’ve linked in the description the C model is the one without the connectivity and the SC is the one with the connectivity. They don’t mention an S model.

    • @OZToolTalk
      @OZToolTalk  6 лет назад +1

      [Dwain] yep the SC model is what I was talking about (the one with an 'S'0. Without having rewatched the video, perhaps I didn't get it out well.

    Good looking little grinder. It looks like it has brush covers on the sides? That app looks a bit better with its ability to data log, can it disable the tool? Is it a 9000 or a 11000 rpm machine? Another great review
    Cheers

    • @ellasOLE22
      @ellasOLE22 7 лет назад

      9000rpm. Looks like all Brushless grinders are in that RPM range, only the brushed units RPM really high. Wonder why :/

    • @dazaspc
      @dazaspc 7 лет назад

      I know corded grinders that are made for stainless are 7500 ~ 9000 rpm (Bosch has this model for example goo.gl/eHzJY8 ) . But I severely doubt that this one could handle extended stainless or masonry work. One day someone will make a grinder disc specifically one with a weaker bond for these low torque units that will stay sharp with the lower loads used. I know you can use a flap disc but sometimes that isn't up to the task.

    • @ellasOLE22
      @ellasOLE22 7 лет назад

      Flexovit make a disk specifically for cordless tools. Look it up its called the "Flexovit ion" Says its meant to increase the battery life of cordless grinders too.

    • @dazaspc

      Its a cut off wheel though not a grinder. :(

    • @OZToolTalk
      @OZToolTalk  7 лет назад

      [Dwain] What benefit would a 'cordless' grinder wheel have? I don't really understand. And as demonstrated, this unit isn't really lower torque than a basic electric anyway...

    The question is, putting aside bells and whistles (Bluetooth), is it underpowered compared to previous brushed model? Maybe it is still better to get older 18 V-LI model in solo and equip it with recent 6.3 or 7 ah batteries? Brush maintenance seems not a problem to me

    2:29 Why would a higher capacity 6.3Ah battery make the tool cut faster? A higher capacity battery should only make the tool cut for a longer amount of time?

    • @OZToolTalk
      @OZToolTalk  6 лет назад +2

      DIfferent cells have not only different Ah (total storage) but also different output caacity (Amps). Often higher Ah batteries have LOWER power output.
      But these ProCORE batteries have different types of cells (20700 compared to older 18650), which give it a higher output capacity.
