I don't know who you are but the effort in making these videos is remarkable. Just wait till brush calligraphy becomes fashionable and your videos will be gospel. got to work on my ovals..they don't look elongated..i suppose I just need to practice more.

very helpful, but one question: why wasn't your black marker showing up over the blue print in the book when you were tracing over it? lol that was weird.
Hi Jessica! The downstrokes should still be shaded, and the upstrokes should be thin still, but there ARE different techniques that lefties need to be aware of because of the pen placement. There are a couple of really good lefty teachers that we can send you to! M2B studio (www.missybriggs.com/blog/2016/2/12/getting-started-with-brush-lettering) is a great place to start!

Oof, I tried using a regular brush tip marker, and not good! Tip is way too fat to get nice thin upstrokes. Nice lesson, thank you!

I have a question is the LU primarily for calligraphy? I am really looking for more on hand lettering.
Yes, LU is for calligraphy.
As a left-handed, is it common that you do the opposite, thick up, thin down? I have so far found that easier for me
