Bleed the Freak from this same concert is also amazing....a lot of people now are only starting to figure out how good Layne really was...21 years after his death...criminal in my opinion
I love when ppl react to this…..the look on the face is priceless!! Layne IS top tier….have you ever hear someone vibrato a gritty growl with that much perfection? He is so very powerful and draws you right on in. I think he’s takes that top spot with MJK behind him. Chris, Chester, Myles are close but Kurt & James? -nope not even close.
Youre proberly right, Layne is not as highly ranked from the outside AIC fans, as some others, to me he is, but im AIC fan so yes, this concert gig at the Moore is all stellar, its only 4 songs i think, all is worth checking out, feel like Layne did have a shining moment this day..
Layne was my age in this(23) and my favorite vocalist ever… Chris Cornell performed right before AIC in this show… you should watch Bleed the Freak and Real Thing from this same show from Alice In Chains… the whole show was literally insane
Every time I watch this performance, I chuckle at the about pain part too 😂 Absolutely incredible vocalist, he is finally seeing long overdue accolades. This version is better than the album version by far! William Duvall is who does vocals for AIC since they began playing again after Layne's passing. I saw AIC with both vocalists, no one's Layne, he was just special, but William does a great job.
Jerry and Layne were the heart and soul of AIC. They lost their soul when they lost Layne. William gave them back 3/4 of it, but still that little hole is there
Hey man I'm subscribing It's such a shame what happened man that heroin shirts killed a lot of my friends I've got people I know who don't can't stop smoking a fat no s*** and it's just disgusting I said fentanyl not fat no But yeah it kind of I'm a grown ass man that breaks my f****** heart when when you read and listen about what happened to him and just drugs are a b**** guys if you're young and you're out there and you're f****** with any heroin or anything like that stay away the lettuce is okay if your beers here and there but I'm telling you now if you're doing heroin please stop because it'll kill you Every time
Jerry actually did a lot of singing (not only backup, but the actual main vocal line) even while layne was still in the band, especially on the latter albums.
I think everybody who knows AIC rates Layne as one of the best singers of his generation or even of all time, the only people who under rate him are those who just have never heard him sing.
underrated = not as popular (?) and there's no reason why Layne shouldn't be named with the other singers that get on the famous greatest singers lists where Chris and even Kurt are listed all the time with Chris always at the top among Mercury and Plant.
Check out black gives way to blue that was an album/ song that Jerry had written as closure for Layne and the piano in the song is none other than Sir Elton mutha fuckin John. Please check it out Jerry's solo stuff is also great as is his latest song called atone
He’s better than Cornell in my opinion. They are compared so much. Layne had so much range. He’s better live than Cornell which is everything. Not saying Cornell is bad.. he’s freaking amazing. I’m just saying Laynes voice was to unique he could sing east, west, north and south. Cornell always had the deeper voice with ranges. Both are legends. Layne is insanely more range though. Kurt Cobain was a great song writer, but Cobain is not vocally in the same level as layne or Cornell
Edit: Laynes voice was smoother in all ranges than Cornell’s. I don’t know all the proper wording for vocalists, but he definitely topped Cornell by a few percentages. Cornell was still a beast. But if we’re comparing, Laynes on top lol
I love the hell out of AIC. They're probably my favorite band. Layne was above and beyond everyone else. I'm glad you think highly of him. All that being said... I want ya to go back to Streetlight Manifesto! You did moment of silence. Follow it up with moment of violence!
Layne Staley is possibly one of the best singers I ever heard. I’ve been a Nirvana fan since I’m 7, I discovered Alice In Chains when I was about 12 or something. A long time Kurt was my all time favorite and no one could ever be better than him. But now I can say Layne is by far a better singer than Kurt and anyone else. I still love Kurt, but Layne also got a place in my heart and there’s not a day going by that I don’t listen to or think about him. Rest in peace, beautiful stars..
ROBERT DUVALL .. Took over and he did Justice to love-hate love.So I have immense respect for him and his talents as well. But Layne is the ultimate god of passionate voices in my life!!!❤❤❤
Not just underrated, criminally underrated. This entire show is god tier. It ain't like that and would? Live performance from the singles Blu-ray is a must reaction.
Breaking down the whole Layne/Jerry and AIC situation without knowing anything about it is crazy dude. WTF was that nonsense!?! I want to like you man, the reaction was great up until the song ended and everything just fucking fell apart.
Layne definitely had one of the best voices that came out of the grunge era. AIC guitarist was Jerry Cantrell who to this day is still with AIC with a new lead signer William Duval. The thing about Layne is the fame and lack of privacy deeply affected him in a negative way. 💔
I graduated HS in 94 so this is my era. Layne is at the top with Cornell and then everyone else. Chester I couldn’t stand to hear live because he hit the same damn screeching note in every song and after the 2nd song my ears were bleeding and that happened both times I saw him.
Layne Staley is one of the greatest vocals ever. Any gener..
Idt he's underestimated. The rock community knows his talent
Bleed the Freak from this same concert is also amazing....a lot of people now are only starting to figure out how good Layne really was...21 years after his death...criminal in my opinion
man in the box, it ain’t like that and sea of sorrow are literally perfect too; this entire live at the moore performance was insane
My Fav from this show as well!
@@avguris couldn't agree more!
“Real Thing”too live , like what a damn voice
Couldn’t agree more! He is the GOAT!
No auto tune! Just RAW as F!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so in love with this performance. I can't help clicking and watching every time a reactor plays this. Oh, and I subbed too.
"Nice bassline"--yes, Mike Starr was amazing. Underrated as well. RIP Mike
Layne is the 🐐, no one will convince me otherwise.
Chris Cornell is on the same level. Just sayin
@@visakhc6352not even the same zip code
Not close, his live work was really bad. On cd he was amazing. @visakhc6352
The world really LOST a GREAT
Jerry Cantrell and William Duvall do the vocals now.. Layne is on a whole other level from James Hetfield in every way possible...
You nailed it with “no one does a YEAH like Layne Staley”.
This is far better than the album version ❤
Youre proberly right, Layne is not as highly ranked from the outside AIC fans, as some others, to me he is, but im AIC fan so yes, this concert gig at the Moore is all stellar, its only 4 songs i think, all is worth checking out, feel like Layne did have a shining moment this day..

Totally agree, Bleed the Freak is my fav!
both great songs with Real Thing overlooked it shows so much what Layne does with his voice.
Corbain can’t touch Laynes talents
Every time I watch this performance, I chuckle at the about pain part too 😂
Absolutely incredible vocalist, he is finally seeing long overdue accolades.
This version is better than the album version by far!
William Duvall is who does vocals for AIC since they began playing again after Layne's passing. I saw AIC with both vocalists, no one's Layne, he was just special, but William does a great job.
I love this band❤
The fkn best vocalist I have ever heard, hands down this performance was absolute perfection. The 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Amazing performance
I saw him with ALICE IN CHAINS ⛓️ multiple times, And every time he was EXCELLENT
Jerry and Layne were the heart and soul of AIC.
They lost their soul when they lost Layne. William gave them back 3/4 of it, but still that little hole is there
William is a good vocalist, but Layne was different…you FELT him. No one better.
No one was better than Layne
One of my top 5 fav performances by them. Amazing, love it. Thanx, Peace
To be fair, this song was off their first album. So this would have been one of the FIRST songs they wrote about pain. 😅
This sounds better than the recording.
Agree!!!!!! Love Layne
This is him in his "PRIME/ AT HIS BEST"
Layne is in a tier above. Not just on par.
I once read that Layne's mom described his voice as "razor blades covered in marshmallow".
Mom knows best. Miss him so much, what guttural talent.
You should check out live Man in the Box from the same concert
This was the 90s. Most of the good songs are about pain.
You have to watch more from this Live at the Moore show. Glad there were so many yeahs and oohs for you to enjoy! You need to check out more AIC!
Layne S. and Chris Cornell are absolutely UNTOUCHABLE
NOT HUMAN
theyre phenomenons
Hey man I'm subscribing
It's such a shame what happened man that heroin shirts killed a lot of my friends I've got people I know who don't can't stop smoking a fat no s*** and it's just disgusting I said fentanyl not fat no

Jerry actually did a lot of singing (not only backup, but the actual main vocal line) even while layne was still in the band, especially on the latter albums.
He sang from the very depths of his soul. His posture, his control, he was just absolute perfection.
To me Layne was the very best of the best, with Chris Cornell a close second. So underrated.
I’m a girl from the 60’s and AIC is my fav band and it’s because of Layne and his voice. His voice oozes emotion that touches my heart like no other!
I think everybody who knows AIC rates Layne as one of the best singers of his generation or even of all time, the only people who under rate him are those who just have never heard him sing.
I miss Layne Stayley every day… the guy was peerless
"NO EXCUSES" is pretty "up"
lol he’s really not underrated. It’s pretty much him, Chris, Chester, Scott weiland
Add Vedder n Dio
underrated = not as popular (?) and there's no reason why Layne shouldn't be named with the other singers that get on the famous greatest singers lists where Chris and even Kurt are listed all the time with Chris always at the top among Mercury and Plant.

What the Hell Have I has the most amazing harmonies between them. The way that they recorded them is ingenious. This song was in the movie Singles.
Layne was so good. ❤
One of the only people who could make "doo doo yeah doo doo yeah" sound cool 😂
Edit: Laynes voice was smoother in all ranges than Cornell’s. I don’t know all the proper wording for vocalists, but he definitely topped Cornell by a few percentages. Cornell was still a beast. But if we’re comparing, Laynes on top lol
😂😂😂 yo I’m pretty sure he just made the word “Yeah” sound legendary lol
Your not getting it at all, Cobain or Cornell wasn't even close to this guy.....Period...
Don’t ever put Cobain in the same sentence with Layne. Layne is the goat
Only singers I rate "IN THE SAME LEAGUE" are Eddie Vedder, and Paul Rodgers
Love AIC. Layne, Cornell, Chester….iconic voices gone too soon. For me….best period of music.
Incredible voice. The GOAT way better than all of the grunge bands. Cornell is great also. Bennington couldn’t carry Laynes jock
That's grunge for you. No happiness. It comes in handy for someone to understand you
To me, this performance is better than yhe studio recording, But nearly identical
Or Squiggy from Laverne and Shirley?
I love the hell out of AIC. They're probably my favorite band. Layne was above and beyond everyone else. I'm glad you think highly of him.
All that being said... I want ya to go back to Streetlight Manifesto! You did moment of silence. Follow it up with moment of violence!
This song will never get old... it expresses the title perfectly!
You should check out jar of flies. He sings with anne wilson. Beautiful
Layne is the greatest!! And Roll Tide btw 🤣🤣
Layne Staley is possibly one of the best singers I ever heard. I’ve been a Nirvana fan since I’m 7, I discovered Alice In Chains when I was about 12 or something. Layne's the God of Rock singers
ROBERT DUVALL .. Took over and he did Justice to love-hate love.So I have immense respect for him and his talents as well. But Layne is the ultimate god of passionate voices in my life!!!❤❤❤
Layne is about 24 here. Most people I know and particularly musicians put Layne at the top of that singer list.
Not just underrated, criminally underrated. This entire show is god tier. It ain't like that and would? Live performance from the singles Blu-ray is a must reaction.
He had just gotten his heart broken and I was struggling with his addictions that's why everything is about pain
Real grunge fans know he was the best. Listen to the voice. How can he be underrated? Aic the front runners
Breaking down the whole Layne/Jerry and AIC situation without knowing anything about it is crazy dude. WTF was that nonsense!?! I want to like you man, the reaction was great up until the song ended and everything just fucking fell apart.
I Appreciate your respect!! Much respect❤❤❤
Layne is the GOAT! And always will be! 🖤
Layne definitely had one of the best voices that came out of the grunge era. AIC guitarist was Jerry Cantrell who to this day is still with AIC with a new lead signer William Duval. The thing about Layne is the fame and lack of privacy deeply affected him in a negative way. 💔
Epic! 😎 still listening to them, never stopped…….
GOAT, my Elvis/ John Lennon
He's not under rated at all....He was the Greatest!!!!
My favotite vocalist ever!💜💜💜
I graduated HS in 94 so this is my era. Layne is at the top with Cornell and then everyone else. Chester I couldn’t stand to hear live because he hit the same damn screeching note in every song and after the 2nd song my ears were bleeding and that happened both times I saw him.
Bleed the Freak. Same show.
Janis Joplin is the best comparison
❤❤Layne Staley.RIP❤❤
Finish the song,ya but!😂❤
Why are they not in the Hall of Fame
Pure talent. No auto tune.
Is this one of the jerky boys?
This whole show is fire!
Do the Nothing Song
some tasty sludge right there!!!!
saw them open for Van Halen touring for this album...I count myself lucky.
The GREATEST VOCALIST ever
