Slayer is the only band I know of that has the balls to admit that they do not care what anybody thinks. They are their own police. Every track has hate and brutality. They still set the bar for heavy. Slayer is the reason that extreme is mainstream. If you hate Slayer, just remember they hate you more.

They openly admit they are writing songs based on what the people will think... They say...that sounds great but it is not what people expect. We need to make it more like what people expect... And the new members were told to try to sound like the old members cuz they don't want to let people down... So while you projected this image upon Slayer...it is inaccurate...watch Slayer themselves explain that they care very much what people think. Which is fine.

I have only seen 2 Slayer shows and I only like the work during the years 1983-1990 but I can still say that I'm one of the bigger Slayer fans in the world.
It's pretty darn great mainly because every time I hear a slow song by slayer they set a scene by the slow guitar or slow drumming and you can senses and feel like ur part of that scene like south of heaven like Tom said it's heaven on earth pretty darn true you can feel or see things in ur head while hearing there slow songs play
@turbodewd1 Yeah, I love Divine. Diabolous was solid. God was ehh... Christ was actually pretty good but the solos were sorry. and now, I dont know where they are? But at least they aren't Metallica. But Decade of Aggression was their greatest moment IMO. Tha'ts my top album all time alongside Death's Individual Thought Patterns. Epic
