@@cooperberrysmith7701 I'm heavily affected by the nausea effect, to the point I almost vomit. The bow zoom... nothing. Brains are weird but tasty with a pinch of salt.
Bow zoom just one of the reasons I much prefer tinkers crossbows, the others being functional looting via lapis on the bolts, the ability to hit endermen by adding darksteel to the bolts (as either the 'tips' or as an embossment from say a shovel head), better damage, instantaneous fire when loaded, and near perfect accuracy at even extreme range, the latter 3 are benefits over tinkers bows as well. As for reload time, in this pack fluix crystal not only has amazing reload time it has one of if not the strongest damage boost.

Even getting the portal is a bit of adventure... speaking of, you need to find a swamp druid circle and grind out some druid kills for 4 specific items. These items make the actual item you use to "build" the portal, which is about the size of a large oak tree (think it might be a bit wider and less tall) so you may want to find a large open area to center it in lest you destroy a portion of your base accidentally.
Dire for modular power suits, here are a few things you should know. (And disclaimer; I am playing the mod unedited, I do not know if the MCEternal modpack changed anything around this mod in terms of how the armor functions.) I am sorry this is lengthy. The top tier battery holds 100MRF (M as in million RF), 3rd tier battery holds 50MRF 2nd tier holds 5MRF, 1st tier holds 1MRF, and all the tiers of batteries can be stacked in each piece of gear. The force field armor, by itself, isn't that amazing and it should be paired with iron or diamond plating unless you want to use a lot of power. I do recommend that you get all of the generators on the suit; solar(helmet), thermal(chestplate), and kinetic(legs). The generators will help you gain all the initial power you'll need depending on what battery you get. The flight control is much better than the jetpack you currently have. I will say that you will want to key bind flight control to turn it off when you want to walk around in your base otherwise it will remain in fly/hover mode. You may have to reset the key binds in the tinker table when you log back in (at least I have to). Also, power armor flight is way faster than jetpack flight. I believe (I am not 100% sure) the power fist will match if not exceed the damage of your dark bow with the railgun at about 60% power. It took me a bit to discover this but to switch between specific modules in the power fist you can hold down the number that the power fist is in. Say it's in the second slot on the hotbar, hold down 2.
That seems likely. I've had that happen a LOT with modded Minecraft. It's an unfortunate side effect of all the coding mess that mods can create and the resource drain on a PC
I would love to see you try limbo soon. Tip if you go place a pocket dimension inside of a pocket dimension over and over you will EVENTUALLY enter limbo. If you enter an unstable portal you MAY enter limbo. If you die in a pocket dimension you WILL enter limbo. If you dig down you may leave limbo but the chance of you seeing the same place twice is nigh impossible.
As a lot of people have said here, the issue with your rats and animals is possibly the world loading, (Everyone tells me its not the case, but it only happens for me when chunk generation mods are in play, like the animated chunks mod so YMMV as to why) and if its not, then as others have noted, build a walled structure around your farms to keep mobs out and to keep pied pipers from stealing your rats. I like to make a pen and then surround it in illuminated fuzed quarts to ensure light and protection.
Since that one time pixies have stolen my tinkers pickaxe I have to fuel my eternal hatred towards them by killing every single pixie I see. Goddang I hate those guys. Turning off the setting did help quite a bit though.
they stole my bag of holding with so much of my gear in. tools, weapons, creative jetpack (50,000 from the shop) machines i had ready for builds And my RFTools portable storage that was close to full with resources, random loot/quest rewards. i lost so much i felt like quitting that world and starting again. Instead of using bags/backpacks i now use a Simple storage network to hold all that stuff so i cant lose the items anymore, advanced remote for any dimension access too [i know i could of used a backup to get it all back,, but that feels like to much of a cheat]
@@hagazissa1599 yeh i know but personally i like to leave as much as i can to the way the mod was set up. same reason as i didnt load a backup. live and learn, change the way i play to combat the pack rather then change the pack to fit my normal play style
Love the series. Might be an idea to setup a simple storage network for stuff in your satchel. The mod has an access terminal similar to AE2 but can travel across dimensions so your 'satchel' could then have theoretically infinite storage
Dire, put up torches around your animals. The Rifters from the Midnight Rifts are hurt by light and wont go into bright areas. I had my Cows being killed outside until i put a torch on every other fence post. Probably overkill but no more dead cows.
The laser turret was pointing towards the sheep pen. Clearly something made it past the defences, maybe multiple things. Either build a wall, a hole or move the sheep and rats to another Dim. Same for tree farm. maybe a conveyor belt around the farms could help, maybe it's something that flies but the defence is not working on it's own.
Ohhhh lucky you getting that dragon egg. its a low drop from a tier 5 dragon now you just need to place that egg on a nether rack and light it up (because you killed a fire dragon) wait a few minuets and you will have a small dragon pet. to make the dragon strong and big you need to make food that you craft from sheep meat and then when its tier 3 and above you can ride the dragon. you can make armor for the dragon and to store him (the dragon is really big) you can craft a horn and the dragon will be safe in the horn. most of the info in the fire and ice mod you can see in a book that you upgrade with the menu scrips you found. the ice and fire mod is pretty fun to look at and i advise you to do so
And the price for the usless mod ever goes to... Midnight!!! ( (I hope it's in development, if it wasn't, it would be just a good aesthetic experiment).
The best bows on the pack are the CofH bows for the simple reason that they are the only bows that you can put the multishot enchant on. With power V and multishot IV on a platinum or diamond bow I was getting like 300ish damage per shot if I hit all the arrows. I also leveled the archery stuff from both levelling/skillpoint mods which gave me ridiculous draw speed.
+1 amazing Episode, Mike. * You can hatch Dragon Eggs and raise a Dragon. It can be used as a Mount and you can fight Mobs using your Dragon. * Next Time you kill a Dragon, you should have some Bottles on you to get Dragon´s Blood. I don´t spoil what it is used for.
The between lands portal is a huge tree, make it away from your base, and talking of bases make one in the between lands when you get there, there's a bit to do, most things rot, food, tools. Take tinkers tools and make food there 👍.
I have to say homeoffice in COVID-19 makes it pretty easy to view the video when it is published. I wonder if Dire could publish some stats and show if he got more views during lockdown.
The entity problem could possibly be do to the game needing so much memory constantly. Entities inside a fence technically shouldn’t despawn but I wouldn’t be surprised if some mod somewhere has altered that, indirectly affected that, etc. All that being said I don’t know the inner workings of Minecraft’s memory management but I do know how Java deals with memory and I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the issue.
for those wondering, midnight looks very bare bones because its mostly directed at the newer versions the creator unfortunately stated that he wouldnt update for 1.12 any longer
Yeah, you can raise dragons and use them as mounts. It is pretty cool, the info is on the wiki for Ice and Fire if you don't wanna figure it out (I don't remember if they have an in-game book now)
With a little more effort, can't he pop out food that's intentionally overboard good (something like giving a hundred hunger and saturation, among other things)? Not as easy to automate, but considering his love of the Rats mod, I doubt he would care much
Build a dragon nest dire and hatch them baby dragons you'll have a lot of fun with them but make a monstrosity of a cow farm cause your gonna need alot of bones and beef to grow them!! Loving the series
I got unlucky enough to have a Stage 5 Fire Dragon right next to my portal to the beneath, the hard part is if it picks you up you are so high up you start taking damage from being in the darkness... not to mention it seems the dragon is also made stronger in the beneath but I could be wrong about that one.
Ice and fire let's you raise dragons and ride them. Also, ice and fire has in this modpack support for Tinker's armory, which let's you make really tough armor
At this point, Mystical Agriculture/AgriCraft crops are the only things that make sense, with 10/10/10 Nature Cores, Dye Cores, & Sheep Essence you're probably better off.
I am going to post my curren't constructs armour loadout and some basic guidelines I've come up with when deciding what to do for my own gear just to provide some idea of what that mod can actually do compared to other forms of armour. My current armour is, (Fire) Dragonsteel cores (ice and fire integration), (Purple) Sea Serpent Scale plates (ice and fire integration), and Lead trim ('vanilla' tinkers material). For modifiers I have 1x Diamond (armour, armour toughness, and max durability), 1x Emerald (max durability), 5x Reinforcement modifiers (unbreakable with remaining durability locked at 1 to max the thorns from the Rough trait), 8x Protection modifiers (only uses one modifier slot, equivalent to prot 4 enchantment), 1x Night Vision Goggles (helmet only, toggleable night vision, mutually exclusive with zoom/spirit sight goggles), and 1x Glowing (boots only, auto 'torch' placement, very good in the beneath), I still have one open modifier slot on the chest and legs, and next level up I will add respiration to the helmet. I could increase my movement speed if I wanted to by adding redstone to any armour piece, I already have step assist by eating an Apple of Lofty Stature but could add it to my armour if I really wanted to (don't remember exact recipe), and I could increase my jump height if I wanted to by adding popped chorus fruit to any armour piece (does not reduce fall damage though). Also I haven't embossed anything on it yet, I could add material with Featherweight to reduce falling damage, Lightweight for movement speed (cobalt can do either IIRC depending on what part you choose), Voltaic for resistance/immunity to lightning and periodic aoe retaliation (electrum or some gemstone I don't remember which), or Bouncy to give the slime boots effect (green/blue slime core, only need to apply to one piece, not restricted to boots though probably the best target) or many other things but those are the current maybe wants. I would have somewhere around 50 armour if it weren't hard capped at 30, and a little over 20 armour toughness, with 20 being the hard cap on that, to put that in perspective max empowered dark steel has 20 armour and 8 toughness, I think End Steel armour has 30 armour and maybe 16 toughness I don't remember offhand definitely less than 20 though (and a multiple of 4 so 16 is best case) My old armour was (Dragon Bone [not great] to Steeleaf to) Dragonsteel cores, Sponge plates(see below) and Bone trim(skeletal +50% armour toughness), embossed with White Dragon Scale cores (Rough and Writable traits), with all the same modifiers. Total stats ~50 armour, and ~33 toughness, if not for the caps. With that setup I could have max armour (same with my current gear) and more toughness than Ender IO End Steel armour wearing just the chest and legs With any 3 pieces of the old set I had maxed armour and toughness allowing me to use any one piece of utility armour without any consequence to defences (slightly lower thorns damage due to having fewer Rough armour pieces but that is a minor detriment). Dragonsteel cores have over max armour value without any modifiers (tied for the highest base armour with a few other materials) with decent but not top tier base durability and its material trait is Indomitable (boost (base) armour value and (base) armour toughness, not fancy but without it I wouldn't have enough toughness using Sea Serpent plates to hit the cap) Sea Serpent Scale plates have fairly high base armour toughness (only normal steel and sponge are higher IIRC) a good boost to durability and the material traits are Rough (thorns strong enough to one shot most [low armour] overworld mobs that hit me with melee attacks [haven't tried endermen with this new suit], thanks to the ridiculous max durability and 1 durability remaining. It works like the old stonebound/spiny tool/weapon traits) and Aquaspeed (extreme swimming speed, this does have some downsides with flowing water or precision movement but is generally nice to have) Lead trim provides a relatively negligible durability change and material traits are Heavy (immunity to knockback) and Shielding (some resistance to magical damage) The core provides the base durability for the armour, as well as the base armour value, the number for the armour shown in the book is the unmodified armour value if you use that core for all 4 pieces of armour. Like the head of a Tinkers tool/weapon it determines the repair material for the equipment. For cores there is a small selection that can provide (greater than) maxed armour value, most of them don't have interesting traits however, fluxed electrum has the best durability but no traits IIRC, and I can't remember the other options offhand. The plates provide a durability multiplier and a slight durability modifier, as well as determining the base armour toughness of the armour (works like the tool rod for tinkers tools/weapons, but are more important because armour toughness determines resistance to armour penetration from large attacks) Other good options for the plates are Steel, Sponge, or Dragon Scale, if you don't care about armour toughness there are many more options, but toughness on those options is going to be much lower. Steel plates have the second highest base toughness of any material and have the Indomitable trait just like Dragonsteel cores so using both together wastes potential material traits Sponge plates have the highest base toughness and the Absorbent trait (boosts armour value and toughness in the rain or when in water) Either one of them with a diamond will pass the toughness cap without even factoring in their material effects, not useful on the surface but this can allow you to hit the stat cap with fewer pieces of armour if you wanted to have something for utility. Neither one has a significant durability boost. Dragon scale plates have a little lower toughness than Sea Serpent (low enough that I don't think they would hit the cap it would be very close) they have the Rough trait like Sea Serpent Scales but don't have the Aquaspeed trait, each color of dragon scale has a different extra trait in the cores and all fire dragon scale parts come with auto-forge (repairs in fire, not needed or wanted in my setup). If you have a great want for a specific material's plate traits or durability boost but it has low toughness you can use a polishing kit and sand to set the armour toughness of that piece of armour to the toughness of the material of the polishing kit (sponge polish and diamond modifier on all 4 pieces should reach toughness cap without any trait boosts, which is good because no traits can affect the toughness value if polishing is stronger than the actual plates with the trait boosts [diamonds may not stack with polishing either I don't think I've tested that yet]) Trim provides a slight durability modifier and material traits, like the bindings/guards for tinkers tools/weapons you just pick whatever material traits you want as the durability change is fairly negligible regardless of what you choose. If you want something cheap with armour equivalent to Diamond (or Dark Steel as it is just diamond armour with special abilities) you could go for say Dark Steel cores, (normal) Steel plates, and whatever you want trim. Add a single diamond to each piece and you have better than diamond armour value with more than max armour toughness (compared to less than half max armour toughness) Dark Steel itself is actually stronger as a constructs armoury core than it is Ender IO armour IIRC especially so once you include toughness from the plates, and a diamond modifier. You can also go for Steeleaf cores, it means exploring the twilight forest but if you carry steeleaves on your hotbar any tools/weapons/ammo in your hotbar/offhand, or armour being worn that have stealeaf as any of its parts will be repaired over time, the more steeleaves the faster it repairs (the steeleaves are not consumed), with a full stack it lets you practically ignore durability as long as you don't go overboard with ore excavate. Manyullyn cores with one modifier used for a diamond I believe will get to diamond armour level stats too. Prismarine cores are the second best 'vanilla' tinkers material for cores (after manyullyn) and have the Rough and Aquaspeed traits, detailed above.
Now, I'm not an expert in this because I've not really looked in depth in a lot of the details, but I really like my (unfinished) setup. Supremium core, amethyst trim, emerald plates. So far the only modifiers are 5 reinforcement for unbreakable, and I have been considering swapping either the trim or plates and then embossing whichever back on Why? Amethyst gives invigorating, for an extra... I believe 2 hearts per piece, might be more. And the Terrafirma effect Emeralds give help heal me faster, while Supremium is one of, if not the absolute highest armour rating available. Even without the bonus hearts I've earned from eating, this gives me 18 hearts (10 base, 8 bonus. And for me personally, another... 20 or so from eating so much), better natural health regen, and I believe 14 armour points (only 4 for the... other bar, haven't figured out how useful it is yet since almost everything does nothing to it). That being said, does rough actually improve thorns damage with lower durability? I hadn't heard about that. And why the emerald if you gave it unbreaking anyway (unless that was given before unbreaking)?
@@Kahadi I believe Supremium is one of the materials tied for top armour yes, its traits are however not all that interesting you didn't even mention them :p. As I said trim is mostly for trait preference I wanted the shielding and knockback resistance, and I feel like I have plenty of hearts already, 20 from food like you IIRC, and an extra 5 I think from cyclic heart canisters. The healing might be nice to have, may add that to my embossment list, but outside of the beneath I haven't been actually scared of dying for a while now (I literally climbed a battle tower without attacking anything but the golem at the top who promptly punted me off the tower edit: this was probably my old armour and why I went with knockback resist for the new set, I was annoyed more than I was hurt, used my wand's levitation spell to float back up). Even so my current equipment is stronger than when I was last in the beneath. Supremium should give you maxed out armour I think (1 full armour bar with 4 and a half orange tunics is 30 armour) not sure how good emerald is for the toughness though, IIRC it isn't great. Good raw defence, not so good for preventing armour penetration. Even with 0 toughness 30 armour means that any hits that do less than 10 damage (5 hearts) should be negligible especially with health regen. With the max of 20 armour toughness it would take 35 damage (15 and 1/2 hearts) before it starts becoming noticeable if what i've read is correct, this is before counting protection enchant and resistance pots. I did indeed add the diamonds and emeralds before the unbreaking on purpose, I specifically made the armour added the diamond and emerald then hugged a cactus while standing on a sanguine rose until each piece hit one durability then gave that piece unbreaking (it took enough hits to gain the needed modifier slots for 5 reinforcements, even after using 2 on gemstones and not having writable) I actually tested the increased thorns from rough, my old set did 6 or so per armour piece I think, and the new set with much more maximum durability does more, but I don't remember just how much more I can't launch the game right now to check. Rough specifically says it does damage based on durability in the tooltip, and my testing shows it is based on the amount of missing durability rather than the percentage of remaining durability so bigger maximum is better.
@@Kahadi I just installed the latest update and a few changes to the armour are preasent. First the caps to armour and toughness have been increased making the armour I had significantly stronger. and the base exp to level was changed from the default 100, to a unacceptably high 30,000. I could live with tools requiring much more exp than normal I rarely used all the modifiers I got anyway, but increasing the exp cost for armour by 300x is too much, I changed it to 1,000 for my play, 10x harder than normal is more realistic. not that I leveled the armour through regular use anyway. Additionally everything except my inventory was reset so I am restarting in a new world. I would have tried to continue, or restore the world but I wanted a biomes aplenty world anyway, and even the monument that I had made my base wasnt even there anymore. Before I delete the world the new armour I had made does 8 to 8.5 rough damage per piece for a total of about 33 damage (16.5 hearts) wearing the full set.
You could just stick a sheep in your mob grinder- that can spawn neutral mobs and get their drops right? That rock crystal stuff from nightmare, if you make those paving slabs from it, do they glow?
As long as rats and sheep cant walk through glass walls...maybe make a fully enclosed glass wall around it vs fences to see if that keeps the sheep longer? then if the sheep stay, it may be worth trying rats again?
@Direwolf20 the same thing that happened with your sheep happened to my dragon on my server. Multiple times at that! But I found the issue - a portal to nightmare dimmesion opened right at my dragons lair and removed the dragon :(
Seems to me either the rats mod is broken in some way where the rat entities aren't persistent, or the rats mod was included in a pack where it conflicts with another mod that makes it impossible to leave them unattended which makes it pointless to have them either way. It's a shame because the rats mod is the coolest entity mod I've ever seen in MC so far. Maybe disable the silly midnight mod after you're done exploring it so you can play with rats? If those midnight dudes are stealing your rats and sheep, and there's no way to prevent it, then it should be disabled.
No. Trust me it's the first thing that I look for when I start a pack. What I did was use rftools dimensions to make another vanilla looking world with saturation. There's also the option of rftools beacon block that can give you saturation.
There's a skill he can get (can't remember the mod, but the tab in your inventory) that autofeeds you, but I'm waiting for him to find the Wizardry spell that feeds you or the item that uses mana to keep you fed
i had the same issue even with spawners returning back to there orginal state so i just gave up there most likely either getting killed or some funky despawn entity issue

At this point, the most likely explanation for the entities despawning is an issue with the world loading and them dropping into the void
That seems likely. I've had that happen a LOT with modded Minecraft. It's an unfortunate side effect of all the coding mess that mods can create and the resource drain on a PC
no. look at previous videos, the rats had lamb chops in their hands.
dire like 3 episoded ago "im running low on diamonds and emeralds"
dire this ep *doesnt mine all the emeralds in the dragon den*
This, lmao
I would love to see you try limbo soon. Tip if you go place a pocket dimension inside of a pocket dimension over and over you will EVENTUALLY enter limbo. If you enter an unstable portal you MAY enter limbo. If you die in a pocket dimension you WILL enter limbo. If you dig down you may leave limbo but the chance of you seeing the same place twice is nigh impossible.
Remember that all your potions and food will be ruined when you enter the Between lands.
....wat?
@@masterlinktm They turn back to normal food once you leave
mfreeman3 no they don’t
@@sparecreeper1580 yes they do, once you leave the betweenlands your food changes back to what it was
00:02 finally he stoped wasting ender pearls :P
As a lot of people have said here, the issue with your rats and animals is possibly the world loading, (Everyone tells me its not the case, but it only happens for me when chunk generation mods are in play, like the animated chunks mod so YMMV as to why) and if its not, then as others have noted, build a walled structure around your farms to keep mobs out and to keep pied pipers from stealing your rats. I like to make a pen and then surround it in illuminated fuzed quarts to ensure light and protection.
Dire actually pronounced miasma perfectly from the get go.
Mai-AZ-muh in American English
Since that one time pixies have stolen my tinkers pickaxe I have to fuel my eternal hatred towards them by killing every single pixie I see. Goddang I hate those guys.
Turning off the setting did help quite a bit though.
Erich Pelzer oh snap how do you do that? They stole my dark steel sword with all the enchants and upgrades.
they stole my bag of holding with so much of my gear in. tools, weapons, creative jetpack (50,000 from the shop) machines i had ready for builds And my RFTools portable storage that was close to full with resources, random loot/quest rewards. i lost so much i felt like quitting that world and starting again.
Instead of using bags/backpacks i now use a Simple storage network to hold all that stuff so i cant lose the items anymore, advanced remote for any dimension access too
[i know i could of used a backup to get it all back,, but that feels like to much of a cheat]
In the mod config there is a setting if they can steal or not.
You can also kill them to get the stuff back, but man searching and killing them is such a hustle, that I rather just turn it off.
Dire, you should start bringing your digital miner, to harvest all those emeralds without having to do it manually.
At least it's not The Last Millenium. Dimension is completely useless.
Take tinkers tools and make food there 👍.
dire: oh look, a cool little moth, whats up little moth dude.

I have to say homeoffice in COVID-19 makes it pretty easy to view the video when it is published.
I wonder if Dire could publish some stats and show if he got more views during lockdown.
As general rule, you never want to release such stats. Doing so can cause a lot of unintended consequences.
CONGRATZ DIREWOLF, on hitting 500k Subscribers!
Those pixies deserve pain and suffering, those evil things take items, including armor, from you. I jar them when I see them.
Riding the dragon is fun. You have to make them some armor. Also great for Dragon Steel. Read the Beastiary and keep your manuscripts.
The entity problem could possibly be do to the game needing so much memory constantly. Entities inside a fence technically shouldn’t despawn but I wouldn’t be surprised if some mod somewhere has altered that, indirectly affected that, etc. All that being said I don’t know the inner workings of Minecraft’s memory management but I do know how Java deals with memory and I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the issue.
for those wondering, midnight looks very bare bones because its mostly directed at the newer versions
the creator unfortunately stated that he wouldnt update for 1.12 any longer
What do you think about AE2 VS Refined Storage?
The manuscrips are for the ice and fire book, to unlock knowledge in the book, you have to add more manuscrips
Have you tried naming the sheep and rats? Idk If that would work
Yeah, you can raise dragons and use them as mounts. It is pretty cool, the info is on the wiki for Ice and Fire if you don't wanna figure it out (I don't remember if they have an in-game book now)
Acording to RUclips subtitles this video is from Narwhal 20 , and i am ok with that , because they are awesome
Would recommend the chef rat, just give em some veggies like carrots and he pops out food way better than stuff like aubergine.
With a little more effort, can't he pop out food that's intentionally overboard good (something like giving a hundred hunger and saturation, among other things)?
Not as easy to automate, but considering his love of the Rats mod, I doubt he would care much
@@Kahadi Yep confit byaldi. 9 of any veggies into assorted vegetables into this culinary wonder. I run culinary generators of those beauties!

I am so here for a future of watching Dire grow and ride a dragon
Oh my God the sheep and their Shepherd AGAIN?!?!?! Is it too much to ask to just have a damn sheep farm? My man Dire just wants wool. What the hell

Dark water?! That's where the glass shark hides.
I would have somewhere around 50 armour if it weren't hard capped at 30, and a little over 20 armour toughness, with 20 being the hard cap on that, to put that in perspective max empowered dark steel has 20 armour and 8 toughness, I think End Steel armour has 30 armour and maybe 16 toughness I don't remember offhand definitely less than 20 though (and a multiple of 4 so 16 is best case)
My old armour was (Dragon Bone [not great] to Steeleaf to) Dragonsteel cores, Sponge plates(see below) and Bone trim(skeletal +50% armour toughness), embossed with White Dragon Scale cores (Rough and Writable traits), with all the same modifiers.
Total stats ~50 armour, and ~33 toughness, if not for the caps.
With that setup I could have max armour (same with my current gear) and more toughness than Ender IO End Steel armour wearing just the chest and legs
With any 3 pieces of the old set I had maxed armour and toughness allowing me to use any one piece of utility armour without any consequence to defences (slightly lower thorns damage due to having fewer Rough armour pieces but that is a minor detriment).
Dragonsteel cores have over max armour value without any modifiers (tied for the highest base armour with a few other materials) with decent but not top tier base durability and its material trait is
Indomitable (boost (base) armour value and (base) armour toughness, not fancy but without it I wouldn't have enough toughness using Sea Serpent plates
to hit the cap)
Sea Serpent Scale plates have fairly high base armour toughness (only normal steel and sponge are higher IIRC) a good boost to durability and the material traits are
Rough (thorns strong enough to one shot most [low armour] overworld mobs that hit me with melee attacks [haven't tried endermen with this new suit], thanks to the ridiculous max durability and 1 durability remaining. It works like the old stonebound/spiny tool/weapon traits)
and Aquaspeed (extreme swimming speed, this does have some downsides with flowing water or precision movement but is generally nice to have)
Lead trim provides a relatively negligible durability change and material traits are
Heavy (immunity to knockback)
and Shielding (some resistance to magical damage)
The core provides the base durability for the armour, as well as the base armour value, the number for the armour shown in the book is the unmodified armour value if you use that core for all 4 pieces of armour.
The plates provide a durability multiplier and a slight durability modifier, as well as determining the base armour toughness of the armour (works like the tool rod for tinkers tools/weapons, but are more important because armour toughness determines resistance to armour penetration from large attacks)
Other good options for the plates are Steel, Sponge, or Dragon Scale, if you don't care about armour toughness there are many more options, but toughness on those options is going to be much lower.
Steel plates have the second highest base toughness of any material and have the Indomitable trait just like Dragonsteel cores so using both together wastes potential material traits
Sponge plates have the highest base toughness and the Absorbent trait (boosts armour value and toughness in the rain or when in water)
Either one of them with a diamond will pass the toughness cap without even factoring in their material effects, not useful on the surface but this can allow you to hit the stat cap with fewer pieces of armour if you wanted to have something for utility.
If you have a great want for a specific material's plate traits or durability boost but it has low toughness you can use a polishing kit and sand to set the armour toughness of that piece of armour to the toughness of the material of the polishing kit (sponge polish and diamond modifier on all 4 pieces should reach toughness cap without any trait boosts, which is good because no traits can affect the toughness value if polishing is stronger than the actual plates with the trait boosts [diamonds may not stack with polishing either I don't think I've tested that yet])
Trim provides a slight durability modifier and material traits, like the bindings/guards for tinkers tools/weapons you just pick whatever material traits you want as the durability change is fairly negligible regardless of what you choose.
If you want something cheap with armour equivalent to Diamond (or Dark Steel as it is just diamond armour with special abilities) you could go for say Dark Steel cores, (normal) Steel plates, and whatever you want trim. Add a single diamond to each piece and you have better than diamond armour value with more than max armour toughness (compared to less than half max armour toughness)
Dark Steel itself is actually stronger as a constructs armoury core than it is Ender IO armour IIRC especially so once you include toughness from the plates, and a diamond modifier.
So far the only modifiers are 5 reinforcement for unbreakable, and I have been considering swapping either the trim or plates and then embossing whichever back on
Why?
I did indeed add the diamonds and emeralds before the unbreaking on purpose, I specifically made the armour added the diamond and emerald then hugged a cactus while standing on a sanguine rose until each piece hit one durability then gave that piece unbreaking (it took enough hits to gain the needed modifier slots for 5 reinforcements, even after using 2 on gemstones and not having writable)
I actually tested the increased thorns from rough, my old set did 6 or so per armour piece I think, and the new set with much more maximum durability does more, but I don't remember just how much more I can't launch the game right now to check.
Pahimars POV on SevTech. You helped him acquire whats needed to get to the Betweenlands
But I found the issue - a portal to nightmare dimmesion opened right at my dragons lair and removed the dragon :(
glad to see something thats not rats for the past few days

You pronounced miasma perfectly fine Dire. It can be said as me-az-ma or my-az-ma
Between lands mobs take less damage from weapons that are not from that mod and blocks are harder to mine with tools that are from that mod

If those midnight dudes are stealing your rats and sheep, and there's no way to prevent it, then it should be disabled.
does the pack have a gluttony charm as it would help you massively when eating.

I think the game considers vampires to be like wolves, that’s most likely the reason for the turrets not attacking them.

Hey Dire, when are you finishing up your suit? I'm curious to how it works! you make great content though!!
Probably not for like twenty episodes, when he figures out a way to get infinite of everything. Modular Powersuits is a ludicrously expensive mod, especially for what you get. I don't foresee him ever going back to it, honestly. It's prohibitive.
yeah prob not right... I still would love to see him to do it though. Aah we'll see. I like his content anyway so I'm hooked whatever he does haha
anyone now the chances of getting two t5 dragons in close proximity to eachother?
I’m pretty sure that when you go tithe betweenlands you will loose your tools and armour if you keep them on you
they won't be lost, at least when I played betweenlands in sev tech they weren't, they will likely just be rendered mostly useless. Food though most food is lost if it is in your inventory when you go through the portal.
