- Monty Alexander invited Brandon to the stage of Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center for a surprise performance of Fly Me to the Moon during his Monty Alexander & Friends: Sinatra at 100 concert with Kurt Elling. This is the first night of two performances.

@@BrandonGoldberg I've gotta ask, did you learn arrangements for the most part or did you already get good at improvisation by that point? I see a lot of young jazz pianists formulate almost classically perfect arrangements that sort of mimic improvisation but aren't improvised.

Actually... "Fly Me to the Moon", originally titled "In Other Words", is a song written in 1954 by Bart Howard. Kaye Ballard made the first recording of the song the year it was written. Since then, it has become a frequently recorded jazz standard often featured in popular culture; Frank Sinatra's 1964 version was closely associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon, and the Japanese animated series Neon Genesis Evangelion played the song at the end of each episode.
