+divinasion This song was an opportunity to channel some nostalgic childhood melodies and the main theme sort of plays off of a traditional Celtic type motif. The chorus progression is sort of a Hans Zimmer type movement and everything else is just intuition. I'm not really sure what constitutes "post hardcore"?
This is just out right beautiful! Untouchable in its majesty. When the sax came in it nearly brought tears to my eyes. This is the kind of music that brings peace to your soul.
exaggerations :D Its a very good song but this type of music cannot change anything, I can type 20 other bands doing the same except the sax solo in it :D
2:25. Best sax interlude ever in metal. So beautifully light and fluid! The tone is gorgeous and blends so well with the guitar! Much preferred to the overuse of piano interludes in prog. Also nice to see a musical connection to BBNG, go Canada!
+divinasion Djent is dying, in all honesty. Bands are ditching the sound, and thank god (in my opinion). Periphery's newest album still has a bit of the djent sound but bands putting out albums such as Language, Guiding Lights, this ^^, and a few others have pushed away and gone with their own sounds to truly break off from "djent."
***** TesseracT don't really do anything earth shattering anymore though: their music is starting to all sound the same to me. Their production does keep getting better, though. All of the ripoff-core bands out there have consistently "re-released" each other's djent albums (plural-noun core. SikTh, Twelve Foot Ninja, Textures, and basically all of the O.G. tech bands who denounce djent (and it's ridiculous overuse, and circle jerk-ery) but still play it, (and play it well) are the ones keeping it alive, IMO. May tech-death reign supreme.
this is totally what I wanted by my meaningless comment, an unnecessary discussion about djent. just listen to what you want to, who cares if you think it should be dead or not
If this song was 2 seconds longer it would be the perfect descriptive of that feel you get when the sexy saxiness comes in ;D Sounding fresh as always Aaron!
Had this on repeat for weeks now. STILL not over the sheer beauty of this piece! This is everything, has everything... Not enough ways to say how much this speaks for itself.
God Damn you guys just will not let up. All your new releases have been filled with such an emotional drive. I find myself constantly listening to it when I need inspiration for anything. Keep up the awesome work!
I love every track on this album, but I listen to Fable the most. The guitar riffs just flow along, and that saxophone solo is a thing of beauty. 10/10 Mr Aaron Marshall
Leland stole my heart when I first heard him play with BBNG in "Confessions." It's fascinating that he can perform such diverse genres with equal elegance and just the right amount of intensity. Can't wait to see Intervals + Plini in November in Chicago!!!!
I love this. There's something really fresh sounding here and it feels like a natural evolution from AVW. This came at a perfect time for me too! Can't wait to hear the rest
I have to say Aaron, I never thought I'd get the sort of strong emotional response from another intervals song as Epiphany, but seriously, I'm awake and Fable have blown me away in this context. TOP stuff, keen as on when the preorder ships out
Aaron, you are one of the guitarists to inspire me to use different pickups on my guitar. Just sayin'. Dat sexy phase inverted single coil tap thingy majiggy is ace!
man, i remember hearing this riff in your update video, and I was so excited to see how that song turned out because it was honestly one of my favourite riffs you had posted in a while. So glad to see one of my favourite riffs turned into something awesome! And with a sax lol
Talking to you again after "I´m awake"...guys you absolutely did it! You found yourself in a good "shape" (sorry about the joke) and kill it with intense tunes without the need of low tuning and voice. You rock! Greetings from Brazil!!
all of this new stuff reminds me of older satch. he inspired me to be a better player back then, and I get that same feeling from this. awesome stuff man.
So, the other day I was trying to come up with some musicians/bands that are popular today that will likely be studied as geniuses and masters in one hundred, two hundred plus years as we study the geniuses of past centuries now. I can say quite confidently that I think Intervals will be one of those bands. Aaron Marshall's name will be written in your great-great-grandchildren's e-textbooks, guys, just watch.
so good. i'll definitely be hearing this along with some sithu aye, plini, widek, i built the sky, outrun the sunlight, cloudkicker, STS, Pomegranate Tiger, etc.
OMG this like the most amazing music my ears have ever heard! Erin Marshal you are the freaking best guitarist for progresive djent.I love all of your music and that tone is incredible. How do you come up with all of these amazintg solos!?
Damn, first time saying this but dat saxophone! What a beautiful touch. Wish after the solo he followed with the lead guitar to the end but I'll just keep rewinding onto that solo.
Masterful playing and awesome production overall! I hear a bit of Marco Sfogli in your phrasing, here and there in this at least ;). But your a fantastic song-writer/guitarist in your own right. Can't wait for the new album!
+Intervals This sounds so much better than "I'm Awake"! I felt "I'm Awake" tried too hard to not sound like a certain genre. "Fable" sounds so natural, and it really doesn't slow down too much or get boring. The sax doesn't sound too forced or placed into the song for the sake of trying to sound different. It really feels natural and transitions well. The main recurring section of this song sounds so uplifting and melodic! I love the fact that it is continuous in the song, and doesn't just pop up once. I love songs that have recurring, structured sections. Fable is my favorite off this new album so far. Keep up the good work! #TheShapeOfColour
I love everything about this song. Its perfect! Aaron is without a doubt my favorite guitarist and he continues to prove it by releasing stuff like this!
holy shit. this is so good. thanks drew gooden for sharing this amazing song

+RED HANDED DENIAL hi RHD! Y'all should play a show together.

the timbre change when the sax came in was so unexpected i almost though it was vocals for a split second. love the sax solo in this
This is just out right beautiful! Untouchable in its majesty. When the sax came in it nearly brought tears to my eyes. This is the kind of music that brings peace to your soul.
yes i love the sax in it too its the best thing that they can do.Peace to your soul
Unmask Art I literally was in tears when the sax part came on and I was at work setting up. caught me off guard
Mmm love me some 5/4. Vibes from these first two songs are incredible.
+For Giants Music Dudes, you guys are too good. Glad to see you like Intervals' new work too ;) Shared you guys to /r/progmetal not too long ago!
+Chris Atwater Thanks man! And we like ALL their work haha.
Seriously dude, this album will change the world, this made me melt.
me too!
exaggerations :D Its a very good song but this type of music cannot change anything, I can type 20 other bands doing the same except the sax solo in it :D
You, Plini, Satriani, Petrucci, Sithu Aye, and The Helix Nebula all have my heart in your hands, hold it wisely!

Wish this came out in the summer! These are some summer vibes if I ever heard them. I like to imagine listening to this and sailing my boat
+C Harkna Summer here in Oz and yes this is feeling like pure surf tunes/beach music. Loving it

Djent has been dead for a while now haha

so this whole relatively new genre is dying?
well too weak to be genre if the pioneer and fans are giving up
this is totally what I wanted by my meaningless comment, an unnecessary discussion about djent. just listen to what you want to, who cares if you think it should be dead or not
dude that fucking transition between sure shot and fable is amazing!
when 1:04 hits it just starts to space me out. beautiful.
If this song was 2 seconds longer it would be the perfect descriptive of that feel you get when the sexy saxiness comes in ;D Sounding fresh as always Aaron!
Damn! Where has Intervals been all my life!! This is beautiful!! Well done!
Thii it s is beautiful, thanks Drew
Can't get over how good that sax is. It's not a full on solo that takes over, but it just beautifully carries the melody of the song. 10/10
that sax solo though, literally was in tears hearing that part while I was setting up for work. caught me off guard omg....
that sax solo tickles my brain
Had this on repeat for weeks now. STILL not over the sheer beauty of this piece! This is everything, has everything... Not enough ways to say how much this speaks for itself.
imagine being in a green field between mountains while watching the sunrise after dawn..ahhh so beautiful
this album just might turn out to be my favorite release of the year
I got the elusive spine tingles when the sax came in.
What a beautiful song to be released on my birthday
+Taylor Law same lol
+Taylor Law the album will be released on my birthday :D pretty sweet birthday present
God Damn you guys just will not let up. All your new releases have been filled with such an emotional drive. I find myself constantly listening to it when I need inspiration for anything. Keep up the awesome work!
im so in love with intervals right now
This is the best song on the album and one of the best pieces of music I have ever experienced.
2:24 oh my goodness.... this part is so amazing.
Dude, love the artwork, as always. Glad there are artists like you who put the same amount of effort into it as the music.
Loving the vibes, total surf soundtrack
I love every track on this album, but I listen to Fable the most. The guitar riffs just flow along, and that saxophone solo is a thing of beauty. 10/10 Mr Aaron Marshall
This song should be used for videogames! Sick
Anime opening
Leland stole my heart when I first heard him play with BBNG in "Confessions." It's fascinating that he can perform such diverse genres with equal elegance and just the right amount of intensity. Can't wait to see Intervals + Plini in November in Chicago!!!!
Glad to see sax keep infiltrating into metal! As it should.
oooh goodness that saxophone is life.
That sax made this 100000x more soulful
Get such a Bon Iver vibe from that jazzy solo. This is musical happiness.
I'm glad to see Leland Whitty getting some recognition. His work with BADBADNOTGOOD was pretty great stuff
There's something special about the way Aaron composes music
Strong Köln concert vibes from this. Particularly the sax solo
some years has flown by... this is as fresh as ever....
So awesome to see two of my favorite musicians from totally different genres collab.
Even more amazing than I thought this was gonna be! So pumped for this release, can't wait to hear more!
I really like this track. The song to listen to when you just want to chill but still feel the musicality. Plus for the sax
love the tone, reminds me of their old stuff. no vocals was a wise decision. really itching to hear the full album
Man I'm a sucker for 5/4 haha. My personal favorite from this record
This is the definition of pure genius!
Such an intense feeling ! Guys you're gonna make me cry...
All instruments lines are beautiful.

something about this song makes me feel so uplifted
I'VE WAITED FOR THIS SONG FOR TOO LONG THIS IS THE SONG FROM THE FIRST TEASER YAYY
I don't see too many djent influences like in the previous albums and I'm loving it.
I'm happy to have waited the show in Toulouse in summer to fully enjoy this album :) it gives good vibes before going to work :)
all of this new stuff reminds me of older satch. he inspired me to be a better player back then, and I get that same feeling from this. awesome stuff man.

when i heard the saxophones i completely lost it. just when i thought this song couldn't get any better it did
Absolutely beautiful!
THE SAXOPHONE SOLO IS MESMERIZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!
Is anyone else here because of that Drew Gooden guitar hero video?
Nothing touches this at all in terms of instrumental brilliance
That sax is sex. Great arrangement! Perfect soundtrack for my upcoming beach-holidays 😎.
Goosebumps during that whole solo.
wow dude 37/10! I played this on repeat while working and it made my mundane day landscaping in the rain very enjoyable. kuddos again!
