I knew it! What did I say when you first bought it?! That bloody cap stuck out to me like a sore thumb 😂
Coupland Snr has been an utter legend working through the problem. Superb work on this.
Thanks mate. You were right
Great video again, hard to beat genuine people.
Thanks for watching
You and dad did a great job, Jon. I hope you'll take him with you to the events, he deserves it 😄👍🏼
Were going to Rustival on the 9th of March
Hi Jon, I subbed a couple of weeks ago when your ‘reveal’ video with your dad’s honest reaction popped up in my feed. Watching back, and fair play to your dad, that cap was about the first thing he noticed when you opened the bonnet! Education and training is good, but experience is priceless!
You are absolutely right (and off camera that was also the first thing he said was wrong) - thanks for subscribing and watching
Enjoyed these videos, looking forward to the next one. Great to see your dad working through possible problems.
Thank you. Glad you are enjoying them
You Dad should definitely have his own fettling channel!
I keep telling him but he's not into all that
Amazing that a small part like this can cause serious issues and often. Get overlooked! Well done!
Thank you :)
Well done Dad and well done Jon! Lets hope a new cap, stat and a good flush out does the trick. I'll keep an eye out for your lovely 75 at Rustival!
Fingers crossed
Plenty more videos to come.
See you there!
Your pa is fantastic. Comes across really well 👏
Thank you 😊
Another good video Jon. Dad star appearance as usual.
Thanks 🙏
He's the star as you say 😄
Great job Jon and dad, great videos too !
Thanks for watching
Temp gauge is crazy on these.⚠️
Between 73C - 116C and needle will still read midscale by design.
Much prefer the old gauges which read real time temps ✅
Yes we agree
We worked out how to do the onboard temperature reading which Is much more accurate
Well done both a great video on the 75 and good to see you both working through the problems fingers crossed it has been solved
Always loved the 75 my family and friends have worked on the 75 assembly line at longbridge until it closed love these cars and that one looks great in Wedgwood blue
Thanks 👍
Take the fan control unit out of the fan housing Jon and re locate it to an underbonnet location...that way u can replace the relays without taking the bumper off...Bob...Paignton...
Good idea
He's great your dad ,
you needn't bother 😂😂 .subscribed.
Thanks for supporting us 😄
Yay👏🏻 result!
The low speed on the fan is for engine cooling Jon and the high speed is for air conditioning...if u get caught in a traffic jam put the air con on and set it to low and the fan should run st high speed and that will cool the radiator...or the engine could boil...its probably the low speed relay thst needs replacing...Bob...Paignton...
Good to know!
I hope the cap does turn out to be the main culprit and look forward to seeing a fast run being completed. I love your dad's methodical approach to it and your relationship is cracking
Thank you
So humbled by how many people have watched
Another great video. Again, I have to say, your Dad is a legend.
I appreciate that!
Brilliant job, now what are you going to do for the rest of January!
Plenty to do. A Rover 75 update video is coming tomorrow
Low speed fan runs on 7 volts...thats what the resistor provides.....but the 1.8 turbo may not have a resistor....it could be a 2 speed electric motor...think its a Seimens one....Bob.....
Well done and keep rolling dad😊
👍
Great stuff
Thank you for watching
bring on more dad
Absolutely will be doing
Figured the cap was a problem but that clogger heater matrix was no good and it appears someone put K seal in it for some reason. 🤷♂️
Yes! I reckon there has been a few different issues here that have all been causing problems
Great video, fingers crossed you’ve cracked the problem. New RUclips channel “ Dad’s lounge - tales from the motor trade”😊
That would be a very content rich seam
@@JonCoupland I definitely get the feeling 👍😃
K series 75 have a separate high speed and low speed relay. High speed feeds 12v straight to the fan whilst low speed feeds it through a resistor.
I don't know exactly where these relays and resistor are but maybe you don't need to take the bumper off to get to them.
Interesting
Your dad is cool man casually rolling a joint while chatting about the 75 lol kidding but same mannerisms as my late dad he used to smoke that Golden Virginia stuff , Roll-ups much healthier to smoke than the branded cigs like Marlboro etc but yeah dont smoke kids lol
I tell him off 😂
If you ever sell your dad, please let me know - defo interested
Maybe I could rent him out?
Come on Jons dad....not too many roll ups...u will clog up more than your heater matrix...ha ha.....
Lol ya dad's got idea get bike out for a blast lol 😂
Yeah 🤣
what is rover worth you buy one
How do you mean :)
Jon please explain why you have deleted all my comments about the head gasket going , I’ve noticed you have deleted a lot of other comments, it’s still the head gasket as you will see in time , unsubscribing from the channel
Phil. I'm not sure what's going on here.
I don't delete comments. Never have, never will. (Unless they are offensive and break YT rules ... Then I think they probably delete them)
I'm not sure if there is a setting somewhere in your RUclips that is not showing all the comments. I can still see every comment you have made.
We will be changing the head gasket soon. Don't panic
Saddened that your knee jerk reaction to something I've not done is to unsubscribe BUT if that's what you wish to do ... Then that's up to you
It's weird I put some helpful fan info on here last night and it's disappeared !!
We've worked solely on these cars since 2007 😊
That is weird @@julesviolinas I can see your comment too 😊
Stop smoking
I tell him.
what is rover worth you buy one
Go away...
