New to rc and cp helis. Been struggling with forward flight for a couple months. Within 3 days of finding your vids am getting the hang of it. U r an excellent teacher. Thank you for taking the time to make this series.
Thank you so much for the kind words and I am so happy to hear. I will be making a new flight series soon using AccuRC with updated info and better content :)
Freddy,To me you are an incredibly awesome, generous, considerate and exceptional individual. The knowledge, experience and information you share with others on RUclips concerning RC Helis is the best bar none!!!Thanks for all the time, effort and attention to details. Thanks for sharing and revealing information that allows and permits others to become and perform great in the hobby and sport of flying, maneuvering and manipulating RC Helis in the air.
was on the sim with my three year old grand son and then I found this and he had the the transmitter/ controller. He loved it and had his attention the whole time. pretty good for a three year old. He loves planes and helis and so do I. this was a joyous and great time with him. I really like your very smoothe technique and will subscribe to your page thank you so much from both of us.
Your videos are very informative, personally iam not into 3d flying but I can appreciate the pure skill it takes to do it and my hat off to any pilot that performers such manoeuvres. Even when I flew planes I was always into nice gentle flying. Just getting into helis for now as they are awesome a totally different learning curve.
@@33forsaken the wl toys V912 has been recommended I initially was thinking about a honeybee cp2 or an MJX F49 but apparently they are hard to gets parts for I believe
You mentioned you hope these videos are useful/helpful. These videos are amazing. Can't tell you how much I appreciate the information you re sharing and the video demonstration along with view of controller sticks. I've learned more in past 30 minutes watching lessons 1 & 2 than weeks of time spent on sim trying to figure it out. I was getting a little discouraged & thought I simply didn't have what it takes. After watching your videos I'm reinvigorated, excited and eager to continue.
Hi I'm Deon from South Africa flying rc fixed wings for many years. since watching your videos on Hellis i do understand the concept of choppers. wil shop around for a Helli and i will definitely change my Spectrum DX8 from mode 1 to mode 2 . thx for your awsum videos
Finally starting to make some progress in accurc(just using the 4 cone setup) going cone to cone rotating orientation throughout the circuit. Thank for the videos they've helped immensely. Gonna stick with this for the day. Move on tomorrow lol. Slow but steady
I only have the demo, a little restricted definitely. When the budget allows I'll buy the full version. Got the eachine e160 I really want to go fly but I don't want to crash it right off the get go lol. Maybe go for a hover 🤣 famous last words.
Nice work, again. When I help newbies at the field I explain to them there are 3 basic turns. 1.) Carving "airplane" turn, which they already know how to do, but forget speed in = speed out. 2.) Funnel turn, which is like a car skidding, but nose down. Really just sideways flying with turn. 3.) Basic flat spin to turn. I don't really like the stall turn which I call "skateboard" turn, because it results in tremendous speed out.
Your videos are the absolute bst an make a lot more sense than the 1s I"ve watched in the past.I not too computer say so I'd like to get all your videos.I am fling the blades off a 30s but woud rather fly without any assist or toning down my tx.Thanks Johny
Freddy thanks so much for your useful video on turn. I own 5 Helis 1 550 and 4 450s. I am trying to learn my basic turns which i got. I can hover like a pro. Now all I got to do is learn stalled turns. Its all about feel . That is what I say. Getting the feel through the transmitter.
Very kind of you to offer your assistance! I just might take you up on it! I find that I can get the transmitter hooked up fine but as far as throttle and pitch curves I don't know if the sim is active or my radio is active. That's where I fall over; whose in control of some of these heli settings, the TX or the sim. Also, since I'm still learning its hard to know what the sim should feel like. So it's a double whammy. Thats why I have the nanoCPX to practice on! The real thing! Thanks!
Hi Freddy am only a beginner and I would like to thank you for your help, I have five electric but this is my first nitro TZ V2 50 Frenzy. Thanks for your help. Mike.

This is one difficult maneuvering and dexterity of hand and eye coordination. I can barely do Freddy's lesson 1. I will keep on working at it. But those 3d's in the lessons 3,4,5,6,7 etc.....forget it. Great flying Freddy. I've even seen your actual real stunts with the T Rex machines
Back to lesson one. Your lessons are great and I am forever grateful for sharing your knowledge. I am having trouble with trim settings with RF7.5. When I start up and just before lift the helicopter wants to drift hard to left and towards the rear. I can hover pretty good in the four orientations but when i do tail turns i have constant adjustments... meantime i watch your skills in awe

It look so easy to flight in your video. If you can tell us the Phoenix conditions you are using for this this video. Such as the Physics %, Simulation Speed %, and if you use are using the stock model or a special variant or scale up for this video. Thanks.
I love your videos man. You're very inspiring. I'm trying to learn continuous piro flips and it is soooooooooo hard. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do it.

Hey Freddy! Your video lessons are a great help mate thanks for taking the time to upload this awesome helpful content! Im using Phoenix rc sim to practice and was wondering as phoenix has no updates anymore weather you could send me the trex 700 white and purple heli skin you were using in the lesson videos please? and or any models i might be missing?
hi freddy, very good videos, I'm a beginner and want to get into this hobby. but I do not which controller to buy, if the spektrum or futaba. I like it the Futaba 14 sg. which you recommend.? and also do not know which simulator buy, phonex 4.5 or Realflight 6.5. which control and simulator you suggest. thank you very much
Very detailed videos Freddy. I'm kind of intermediate between airplanes and a couple heli's. I really would like to know how to set up my TX Dx6i to do your inverted flying. I just can't figure that out. That is to use on the Phoenix Simulator.
ON my two SIM's (accuRC, Heli-X) I cannot do collective free. I cant find a collective amount and my hovers arent too out of control. Machine bobs to ground to sky and my fingers not on the collective. Thanks for videos.
Excellent video instruction. I have been practicing hours on turns. Sometimes I get gain altitude on turns on FFF. Am I entering my turns incorrectly ? I find basic turns takes more practice than flips and rolls and loops. I can do flips , rolls, loops easily on the simulator and on my 450 helis. But turns, which should be basic takes more practice for me. Also some heli models in the sim, right turns on FFF are harder for me.
What transmitter are you using? I have a DX7S and I need an emulator to use it. I have never been able to configure my switches and get them to work with Phoenix. Thanks for your videos!!
I've been finding that the Phoenix RC Simulator is SOOO difficult to set up right. Way too many settings. SO I just bought a NanoCP to practice inside and will learn how to flip the real thing! I wish you would post a video on how to properly install and set up the Phoenix RC with a DX8/DX6i. That would be awesome dude! Thanks in advance!
Question: @2:16, I dont understand it. How comes the heli will make a turn if you only give rudder. I tried, heli will rotate, but just still keep moving straight forward. What I missed ? Anyone can help ?
the tail based turn you still need to apply your ail and elev of corse to tilt the Heli. The base of this video is using the rudder more and cyclic less for small simple turns, and the cyclic more and rudder less for the momentum based turns. no matter what you still have to counter the direction of travel or the Heli will continue to travel in said direct.
oh yea btw I was using clearview sim but just ordered phoenix I will let you know if theirs a big difference. the graphics look a lot better on the phoenix and I cant do the no collective hover with clearview. its either going up or down even with the most minimal movement.
Freddy, congrats for your videos! Please, could you tell us the sim program are you using? I have a Futaba T6Sx and I wonder if I can use your program with the appropiate cable conector. Thank you very much!

Tried this yesterday and I just took of and landed a lot one tip over but not even mud on the rotor did get a nice big figure 8 going and before my battery went I just tipped the tail back a tad throttle on 34 percent and just flew by tipping the nose down a bit it was basically hands off but it was a bit too windy for my little f46
Hey Freddy, Got most of the phoenix sim set up figured out, but the collective is so touchy. When I show my tx on the screen it either goes full up or full down. Any suggestions? Love the videos. They have helped soooo much.
I always get discouraged when I crash practicing these. Then I watch them again, get confident, and crash again. Round and round we go. I need to put in more sim time but it's just not as fun as RL.
Thanks for the info and nice video. I have a Walkera V450D03 and am trying to become a good sport flyer, but am fearful of trying these moves for the first time bc crashing sux lol. I've been trying to get my Devo 7 to connect to my Win10 laptop so I can practice with sim (x-heli7), but just not working so I'm trying to work up the confidence to do even bank turns for the first time.
enjoying your videos, learning on phoenix simulator and can do lots on there but in real life I crash fast.. i think a lot of my crashes might be because of mechanical problems on my heli's but I got a new blade 450 X for Christmas. Was very scared to fly it and after a few days I managed to hover it a bit. Even tho I can fly very well in the simulator i am still scared to crash my 450 X... How close to real life do you think these simulators are? if I can fly well in the program, should i be able to fly a nicely tuned in heli i real?
You should be fine. My friend never touched a CP heli but instead used a sim to learn. I let him fly my CP heli, and within seconds, he was piroflipping and 3Ding it. Be confident!
Thanks man! And yeah a few attempts to fly outside and I got over some of my fear! Doing a lot of real flying now, even a few loops and high speed passes
Honestly? I think this whole "collective-free" thing would make me crash. Now I don't fly RC helis in real life (except the coaxial ones or my little quadcopter, when I feel like taking a break from my super-agile park jets) coz I mostly fly in areas open to the public (and should someone ever be dumb enough to jump into the landing path of my F-18 made of depron it's gonna be much less of a hit than that of a pair of fiberglass rotor blades spinning at 1000+ RPM), but in alot of simulator flying of RC helis, both normal flight and basic stunts, I didn run into alot of situations that required a decent amount of CP input to avoid crashing. U too would've hit the ground without the CP that one moment when u did that turn. I do agree that with normal flying the sticks should always be moved very carefully but u should always be on guard and ready to give a little more input just in case. Just think about 2 or more people flying at the same time and suddenly finding themselves flying towards each other with only seconds before colliding in mid-air. My reaction would be a quick climb and an aggressive backward angle to brake hard and gain some reaction time in case further maneuvers are needed to avoid the crash.
try heli-x they do a free fully functional demo with 3 heli models, evy now and then it will pop up a page for a minute nagging you to buy. theres also clearview, though thats a bit toyish and some of the helis are really quirky.
The first example conserved no momentum and actually reversed it.. more what you call stall.. .like tossing a ball straight up. Momentum is not conserved and thus a not a momentum turn unless the turn curves enough to maintain the existing energy...
hey buddy. the phenix is pretty straight forward and easy to setup ? i am sorry if your havin trouble. really all that u need to do is follow the on screen radio setups and then re arange your channels to make your movements correct. and thats bout all. i can make a vid if i get more requests in the mean time buddy feel free to call or tex me at 801-654-2803 for any help u need

Hello what simulator do you use in your video? Can I buy it and then use my Transmitter to control the helicopter? BR Theodor Sweden
So you need to be in 3D mode in order to correctly do stall turns?
Not really you can do it in normal as well its just harder to do. However a fixed RPM with full collective control will make it much easier to do yes.

My reaction would be a quick climb and an aggressive backward angle to brake hard and gain some reaction time in case further maneuvers are needed to avoid the crash.
momentum based turns are much much easier on a smaller helicopter.
At the end...... what a show off lol
Its fun to show a little lol
A 4 channel heli cannot do these, right?
Whre can i download this simulator?
try heli-x they do a free fully functional demo with 3 heli models, evy now and then it will pop up a page for a minute nagging you to buy.
theres also clearview, though thats a bit toyish and some of the helis are really quirky.
If you want that particular sim, its Phoenix rc flight sim, which you will need to buy
The first example conserved no momentum and actually reversed it.. more what you call stall.. .like tossing a ball straight up. Momentum is not conserved and thus a not a momentum turn unless the turn curves enough to maintain the existing energy...
As always this is hobby talk, not looking to get all in depth lol. Any body in the hobby understands it that is what I am aiming for.
