Why Were Alec Baldwin’s ‘Rust’ Shooting Charges Dismissed?

  • Alec Baldwin reports to the new "Rust" film set in Montana, one day after prosecutors dropped criminal charges against him in the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. It's a far cry from New Mexico, where production came to an abrupt halt in 2021 following the tragic shooting. Prosecutors in the case say "new facts were revealed that demand further investigation and forensic analysis in the case."

I care that he’s found innocent so when an accident happens no one else is prosecuted. The person who handed him the gun whose job it was to ensure safety is responsible. Question now is why was the gun modified? Did someone want to intentionally end her?

You and many folks who want gun control can't get it through your thick skulls that Baldwin is the one whose responsibility it was to check the gun for live ammo. All he needed to do was empty the cylinder, check the rounds, and reload them. He neglected to do this knowing that: 1. The gun was real and not modified. 2. Live rounds were being used for target practice on the premises; therefore, the potential that live rounds might be mixed with blanks was possible. The buck stops with Alec and with him it stays. He is fully culpable, so stop trying to excuse him.

How bout when the camera is rollin and ur shooting the scene ...where u pull the trigger??? He was practicing his quick draw, y point in anyones direction period? I was taught never to point a gun at someone unless I meant to use it. Besides that, the gun was supposed to be empty, guns with bullets r heavier and if it was a revolver u can see the bullets without much effort. And even if not then check the damn thing before u go Billy The Kid with it. Just sayin, he is NOT inocent cause he didnt take steps to make sure it was ok. Oh, and it was a real gun which also shouldnt be. Oh, and the crew were shooting bottles during breaks which tells lots about the mentality on set.
