But Nathan...why would I want to fix myself when I can just buy a new bow, arrows, broadheads, and release?
I'm free internet advice. You don't have to explain to your wife why you watch me. You do have to explain where the kids' college fund went though...
🤣
I would love to see the grip video. I fill like my grip is good but I would love to. See your take so I can determine if I’m right or wrong!
Absolutely yes please on the grip video.
This would be greatly appreciated
hey I would love to see a proper grip video.
George Ryals has one with "A Thing A Week"
I would definitely appreciate it if you’d share a video on proper grip.
I agree with you 100%. Tuning and form come before anything else. I had success with mechanical broadheads. I was just not pleased with how it took 3 deer to die and how long the track was. My buddy turned me onto the Ranch Fairy and I made my plan B arrow which was exactly what it is. The heavier arrow, only 580 grains, and a well structured broadhead has worked well for me. 1 deer went 40 yards and the other 70 yards, all with in my sight. And blood trails I could sprint after. The heavier setup is not to fix my mistakes.
Best post in the comments section. There is a balance to be found in arrow builds and every bow hunter should work on form, but many choose the easy route and buy a crossgun instead.
@@PoeOutdoors lol, I really feel sad for all you compound bow tree huggers that are still all butt hurt over crossbows being legal archery equipment. SMH...
AND.... I have seen more compound bow tree huggers just switch their arrows up to the ranch fags heavy arrow caveman setup because they have been brainwashed that IT IS MORE FORGIVING on lack of practice, poor form, bad shoots, hitting bone, shitty shot selection and basic archery hunting knowledge. But hey, lets put down crossbow hunters because they are the real problem for the stealthy real hunting machine compound bow hunters. LMFAO....
GFOH with that!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The problem is that RF is doing exactly that. Bandaging his piss poor shooting form and tune with a very heavy arrow. It wasn’t until very recently that he actually performed a proper bareshaft tune. He absolutely used to say that you needed to have a 650 or even heavier arrow, quite often. He has even advocated on more than one occasion for NOT waiting for the proper shot because his arrow would allow him to aim directly at bone and go through it to make the kill…dude is laughable at best and absolutely NOT who we should be placing high on our lists for advice. Not everything he says is wrong, I’ll give him that. The Ashby reports have very, very little basis in modern compound bows outside of your first 2-3 principles.
I would most definitely be interested in a proper grip video!
Yes absolutely make that video. I’m a newbie and need to know how to grip my bow. Thanks in advance.🙏🏽
Thank you! As a previous archery tech at Cabelas for 8+ years, I told many people NOT to extend/stretch their fingers on their bow hand!! All that does is just tense up the muscles in your hand and screws up your form. A relaxed hand with knuckles at about a 45 degree angle is what’s needed. I see so many people doing that on RUclips and it drives me nuts. 😂
ALL. OF. THIS!!!!
Thank you so much! I shot a recurve as a kid. Bought my 1st compound last week. I’m a trick it out gun guy. So I have been looking at all the cool stuff for archery. Then this video made me realize, I should focus on learning how to shoot properly before anything else.
Absolutely yes! Please make a video on grip.
I subscribed just for the grip video. I'm a decent shot and think my grip is alright, but I want your take on grip.
Yes do a grip video
I’m in need of the grip video
Needed to be said!
Ahh you got guys out here twisting and hanging from saddles , or sitting in a little blind that have less than ideal form and they are consistantly smashing game.
You also got recurve and longbow guys making shots from every position imaginable with a 60+ inch bow....
AMEN BROTHER!!! I feel the same way. I picked up target archery last year and didn’t realize how bad I sucked! Bow Hunters pick up a target bow for the off season and learn to shoot.
Form and grip is paramount. Been shooting my new mathews lift 29.5 all spring and summer and the sucker SHOOTS. All tuned up and ready for the PA opener! Thanks for another great vid brother.
Your teaching videos are very well done, your teaching background really comes through. I'd appreciate it if you could produce a video on proper grip form. More importantly, I think a lot of people would benefit from it.
grip video please!
Would love to see one, I feel like that is one thing I have struggled to feel like I truly have correct and consistent. As a self taught bow shooter without really any good shops around it can be difficult sometimes.
Would love to see a grip video. Going into my third year bow hunting and have self taught throughout the process. Being as new as I am into archery there’s one thing I have come down to notice and start to make my number 1 priority. We can go back and forth on mechanicals vs fixed, heavy vs light and so on. The NUMBER 1 thing for me is SHOT PLACEMENT. Again this is me personally but I feel like no matter what you’re using it all comes down to where you place that arrow. And also the position of the animal. Making better decision shots on how the animal is positioned.
I would also love to see a grip and form video from you!!
Yes, grip video please.
I’ve been bow hunting 30 years now and I could still use advice on shooting. A proper grip video would be awesome. You can only imagine the trends that have came and gone over the years, not to mention the backyard advice from hunting buddies we’ve had to take with a grain of salt.
Thanks.
Would like to hear your take on holding the bow. To find the proper grip is good repeatability is even better.
I would love to see / hear your tips on grip… in particular you peaked my interest regarding the open hand comment and the potential problems that cause. I’m relatively new to all this, and as I got ready for hunting season I was trying to do a bunch of different tuning stuff (walk back & broadhead) and at times I was getting mixed results. So this was a good reminder to pay attention to my form and practice that form.
I have an alpha X 33 and I decided I was going to work on me and my form all year this year. Went and shot 10 different fixed blades from 60 yards two weeks ago to decide what I’m taking elk hunting next week. All 10 different heads flew with my field points. I mean I could put any of them in the bulls eye from 60. I’ve never had fixed blades fly that good In my 27 years of bow hunting.
You probably should have said; "no matter the bow....if it's the same draw weight." That said I agree 100%. As a target archer who is not satisfied until I can shoot bullet holes with a bare shaft arrow, I know the importance of a "good" grip. You can not consistently do one with out the other...period. Even though I am confident I have a solid grip, a video showing how to develop one is always a great idea !!
John Dudley did a grip video about a month that showed how holding a lighter in the fingers of your grip hand can help develop a good grip. It's a pretty good method.
Thank you! Next PSA, "GET YOUR BOW OUT AND PRACTICE MORE THAN ONE WEEK BEFORE OPENING WEEKEND! " I know so many people who think they can pull their bow out and drill tacks and be ready. Then still go hunting even tho it's not shooting straight 😒
While I can agree wholeheartedly with practice often, NC summers at 95+ degrees make it quite a challenge to sit an hour in the heat to practice
You make a great point when suggesting that people have to figure out what works for them. My "measured" draw length is 28.4 inches but I shoot my bow set at 27.5 inches. I found that I shot the shorter length significantly better and felt that even 28 inches was a bit too long when I drawing the bow in non-standard hunting positions. I gave up some speed but I am way more accurate. Wouldn't have known this if I hadn't tinkered a bit with my setup. Good luck this fall.
A grip video would be great Nate thanks!
Love to see the grip video
I would love some videos for early starters, I joined the archery community at the age of 40 and feel like details mentioned on many channels are way more advanced than my skill after 300-500 arrows. Unfortunately I live in Europe and local shops are what does not exist here. I arder bow abroad and got it pre-setup. Then I got some basic tuning myself but for example I struggled with grip, with anchor. I measured my draw length at 29,5 but feel not sure if actually with a bow by the nose it is a perfect length for me and how to make sure.
I know that a local archery shop would be best for that. I try to find it online and it is not easy.
Would love to see a video on grip
Rages, super fast arrows, and 4 fletch have solved all my problems.
Would love as much content as you would be willing to produce regarding form!
I realized yesterday after shooting a bunch and broadhead tuning with frustration I realized my bow was slightly offset with my release. I corrected that and started seeing success, a simple overlooked form flaw.
Never hurts to hear a pros take on grip. I bare shaft tune and go from there
Grip video would be great. Stupid question: why aren't more grips designed to help guide an ideal position?
Give us a grip vid!!!
Amen!!! You can't tune an arrow or a bow to make up for bad and inconsistent form or bow fitment.
There's plenty of guys hanging from saddles with horrible form that are consistently smashing game.
Standing in your yard in a t shirt taking your time and shooting at small dots definitely requires good form to be consistent.
But in the woods where stuff can happen fast and unexpected , thousands of shots are made each year where form had to be thrown out the window to make the shot happen before the opportunity was gone.
PLEASE MAKE THE VIDEO ON PROPER BOW GRIP. PLEASE !!!
I'd watch a grip video for sure! I'm sure I can stand for some improvement!
Grip video please
Grip video! I had a grip that worked pretty well, buuuuut, went down the rabbit hole to find the perfect grip, got worse, and now I can’t quite find my original grip. I know it sounds stupid, “just do what you were doing before” . Trust me I would love to. I got greedy and wanted perfection, and am now kinda on the struggle bus. Any info you would like to discuss regarding grip would be greatly appreciated. 🤙🏼
Awesome video very informative love how u got to the point I got to chronograph mine
Well said
yes please make a video i struggle with my grip. and would love some help
Please do a grip video. I know my grip is my weakest link. I’ve watched other grip videos, hasn’t really helped much.
Did you already make a grip video a few years ago? Either way I'll watch anything you publish. Keep up the good work.
Love to see video on grip
I’d like to see a grip video
Chris Bee's most recent video says differently
U give me a good laugh often. Much respect brother
Word
So unfortunately I'm not able to change bows at the moment so I only have a sight, stabilizer and arrow rest and my bow is a work out for sure with just that no quiver or arrows on it , it weights in at 8 pounds is there anything I can do to make it lighter
Question. Why do shop tecks shoot bows for you through paper.? Is it because they know their grip is right and maybe the bow owners grip isn’t.
Please do a Grip video. I don’t know what to do with my thumb.
grrrrip video!!!!
Grip video please!
Yes, make that video!
Another great video brother! 🏹🦌🥩
Thnx for always answering my emails brother. You are by far the best archery tech/teacher I know man. Keep em coming brother!
Most people who are struggling have 1 of 3 problems: bad grip, wrong draw length, poor shoulder or neck position.
Not only does a 650 grain arrow fix all form flaws, it will also blow through a whole herd of water buffalo with a 50 lb bow. Ranch fairy said so and I believe everything he says.
LOLLLLLL
Hmmmm, yeah. Chris Bee's problem could be form.
I have never heard anyone on the light or heavy side say arrow was a fix for tune or form. Always hear 1- get your bow right 2- get your form right, otherwise you won't have a clue as to what's happening
kinda like Chris Bee with water buffalo
Grip Video, pleeease.
Is that a binocular harness? What brand is it?
Elevation. Excellent harness thay uses a fold top with a magnet.
👍grip it video
Of course form has to be right. This isn't a question
Well said!!!
@@averagejackarchery lol well it's the fundamentals right. You have to have a solid baseline before you start tinkering
But it’s so much easier to blame the equipment and throw money at it than it is to accept that you’re the common problem in everything.
Hand grip video
Old saying so please don't cancel me for it but it's "the Indian not the arrow"
Let's modernize that to "it's the shooter not the arrow"
Work on you.
An expert will make sub par equipment still work!
100% make the grip video
🤜🏻🐔
Do the video.
Keep quiet Jack! I’m trying to convince the wife that a new Mathew’s lift will fix all my problems.
LOLLLLLL!!!!
You listening ranch fairy!?😂
(2) Videos: GRIP & ANCHOR POINT !!!!!!!!!!!!
Watch out for the fairy dusters coming in to tell you that it's so elitist of you to tell people to work on shooting better. Should be spending even more time cutting, nock tuning, RF test kitting to find the one perfect bend around the untuned bow and poor form as an average joe (or Jack!)
