After watching someone take one of these animals with a 200 grain Iron Will single bevel broadhead recently, I've reached my own conclusion on the Beast broadhead based on the Bowmar hunts. Thankfully, you were able to put multiple arrows into the animal & take him down eventually. Congrats!
I'm not a trophy hunter. I only hunt for pots and pans. But, there is a but. Should i ever hunt for a trophy it would be the Cape buffalo. Nice shooting by the way. Take care. Love from Denmark ❤
That’s a crazy amount of time for anyone to be away from your kids. It must’ve been hard. Most I did was 3 weeks and it was hard for me. I said it before when you crushed that Massive Croc, you’re a beast Sara. Love the videos, always look forward to watching both of you hunt. Keep it up.
Waidmannsheil! ❤😮
Arrow too light ... 465 grain arrow I shoot at Roe Buck and 490 - 500 grains arrow I shoot a Red Stag, Fallow Deer and White Deer .... for that Buffalo I would have made my self some 550 grains arrows at least ... you have a 70 - 75# bow and in 30 -40y it will shoot very good with a 500 - 550 grains arrow with a 150 grains Broadhead ( I would have use Annihilator ,or VPA 3 Blades Solid but that's just me) .
Dang, you and Chris Bee are really showing the archery community why using a whitetail arrow on dangerous game is a bad idea! Thanks though, now we know. You can go back to using the proper arrow intended and proven for dangerous game.
I agree with you on arrow setup but at the same time a 600 grain arrow will still stick out the side of a Buffalo they are tough sons of bit__s!!! Not the biggest fan of them but hey they really doing their thing. Can't hate on that
Considering she’s a women with a very short draw and hit the Cape buffalo twice in the shoulder and it still went in deep enough to hit its heart and 1 lung, I’d say she did great. Especially with the last arrow that hit it behind the shoulder, it went all the way to the label, which is enough for both lungs. That was with a 2.3” BEAST. I wouldn’t recommend shooting a cape with 2.3” the 2 inch is better, but that’s what she had at the time.
Awesome video. I can relate to being away from your kids. I had a dangerous job that I would be gone for up to 3 months and was extremely difficult each time i left not knowing if i would be coming home or if i would get a phone call that no parent wants.
you know i think its awesome how she shows how difficult it can be to leave a family for a long period of time for a hunt not just a dangerous hunt because hunting in its self is dangerous because anything can happen but all of us hunters know the risks and what can happen. but the fact that most of us new hunters become slow to realize it, it shows what it takes to be able to do things like this and to be able to enjoy the hunt but to also keep your family in mind so you can have a safe hunt.
What’s wild is she is probably shooting more poundage than most men watching this video. It’s also hilarious to see all the Peter Pan supporters be up in arms because 0 of them have killed a Cape buffalo. You can just feel the jealousy because all of them are of the mind of “I wouldn’t have done it that way” when in reality, they never will do it. Great work and God Bless yall.
Awesome animal! It is always rough leaving the littles at home. In the long run it is harder on us than them. Let’s face it they live there best life with the grandparents 😂
I am a supporter of you guys and enjoy your content while living here in Africa but 70lb and 450g on a buffalo should not have been allowed by your PH.
When will you guys stop going or will you guys stop?( I am not judging you guys i want to do it to) I love what you guys do and want to see more. I am trying to hunt old big deer like you Josh.
What happened to the arrow about 10 yards before it got to the buffalo? Looked like the fletching stalled? That was some wild tail whipping; is that a tuning issue? Seems like it started too far from the bow to be a spine mismatch for your bow. Whatever that was I didn’t like the look of it.
I'm not saying I have all the answers here but first off congrats!!!!!! Everyone bashing arrow weight. Come on... re watch it over and over and slow it down to pause on the impacts. It's on or in the pocket of the shoulder. Which African game the vitals are further ahead on the anatomy. The arrow where it's just behind the shoulder is buried fletching deep with a mechanical head. That's something to say right there. Everyone's so lost and bent on his heavy arrow trash.. there's definitely a happy medium and key in the end is always placement period. I've watched single bevel and 700grain arrows drop 14" more at 45yds and not pass through a deers shoulder.
screw that use a real arrow 450 wtf and that flipper flapper broadhead hell no I love yalls hunting videos but not this crap a good cut on contact head would have done way better even with that kid arrow you shot 3 times just to try and sale more over priced broadheads. you and chris bee should hang out he turned one into a pin cushion as well
Dude she blew through a Cape buffalos shoulder. And I can tell you’ve never hunted dangerous game. When you shoot one your danger until it’s dead that’s why you shoot it more than once
I like your content and I think it’s great that you do it. But why are you so dramatic in the beginning? You don’t want to be away from your kids? Don’t go. You are worried not to come back? Well it’s dangerous game for a reason, so you don’t want to go, don’t go. Btw. you don’t have to train as much for this hunt except for drawing the bow (yes I’m a position to judge that).
Do better as sportsman, the goal is to put the animal down as was possible, yall preach safety but had to shoot the buffalo 3-4 times, if you were using proper equipment and the right set up you would’ve only needed one shot, do better folks
Until you have hunted multiple CB’s…reserve judgement of shot results and placement. You don’t hit the heart with a 300 win mag every time on a 78lbs whitetail from your coffee chair.
Break out the slow motion cameras and put yourself on video there big guy!!! Would love for you to show the world how to tune a bow and then video your perfect arrow flight. Lol
@@dereksteele2284 Something's iffy with what you're saying. Most african countries made it legal to hunt cape buffalos with a bow between the 80s and 90s. Then in 2009 the current poundage and grain requirements were established. Now for the estimations. Between 1950 and 2015 around 3200 capes were hunted, so an average of 50 a year. If those numbers didn't change(and I can't find any info) that makes around 550 buffalo in the years between 2009 and 2020(4 years ago he shot a cape with a bow). So yes, maybe not the first ever but there are very few people who have.
@@dereksteele2284 Do you know how little 550 animals is? And that's counting the ones that were shot with rifles. As a comparaison, Norway has a yearly minke whale quota of double that. Around 32% of american hunters use a bow semi-regularly, if we apply that percentage(even though it is much lower). we get 176 buffalo hunted with a bow.
Josh and Sara new to your stuff and I know this isn’t relevant to bowhunting but your fitness is insane!!!! but whats your take on alcohol? Do you? Or avoid it?
I personally love this video. What you talk about in the beginning, is something as sportsman with families we all think about going into the field. ❤
Congratulations on taking that monster down! Hopefully everyone ate good 👀🍻
No matter how many hunts the end result is always emotional. Great job!
Wow brilliant 👏🏼 nothing beats the adrenaline of hunting and u have done it with a bow that's so awesome 👌

I'm exactly the same way. Meat in the freezer.
I'd LOVE to take a big Cape Buffalo though 🍻
Great shot! That Buffalo is thick and robust. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
Well done , you're a real hunter with real emotions!!!!❤ Beautiful trophy
Top notch quality as always! Pumped for you Sarah!
This is a great video with the story and all
Awesome, I’m glad you liked it!

heck ya man! it'll mess them up

Should use a better arrow set up. It should not take 3 shots to kill a Cape Buffalo.
Wow they live in such a small home 🏠 kids all alone in itty bitty home
You remind me of the movie Sheena
How wide was he? What did he measure?

Coooooooool Stuff. But you must be getting $$ to promote expandables. We all fixed blades, which are prob a better choice.

How can guys with heavy fixed bladed arrows with a long bow have complete pass throughs?

Why is everything so dramatic, not the first people to hunt the species 😂
sure, but some of/if not the first do so with bows.
