  • Welcome back to another thrilling episode of Bowmar BOWHUNTING. Join us as we embark on an unforgettable adventure in the Kalahari Desert, where we’re going to experience the unique challenge of bowhunting rhinos-well, sort of.
In this episode, we’ll be participating in a “green hunt,” using specially designed darts filled with vitamins instead of traditional broadheads. While rhinos are part of the iconic BIG 5 and the dangerous 7, we’ll be in a vast 200,000-acre concession, where these majestic creatures roam freely.
Before we dive into the action, we’ll discuss the vital role that green hunts play in wildlife conservation. With rhino horns fetching up to $420,000 on the black market, it’s essential to understand the financial incentives behind conservation efforts. This revenue supports anti-poaching initiatives, habitat restoration, and community development, ensuring the long-term survival of these incredible animals.
You’ll also get an inside look at the scientific aspects of this hunt, including how we collect valuable data to aid in rhino conservation. We’ll share the protocols we followed to ensure the safety of both the rhinos and our team, including the presence of a specialized vet and a helicopter on standby.
This isn't just another hunting episode; it’s a deep dive into the complexities of hunting, conservation, and the impact of financial support on wildlife protection.
So, gear up and get ready for an insightful and exhilarating adventure as we take on the challenge of a green hunt in the Kalahari. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the notification bell to stay updated on our journey!

As an ex South African, I got really upset when you said you were going Rhino hunting. Then got delighted when you said green. While we still have them, all efforts should go to try and save the species from extinction.

This video is the perfect blend of Hunting education and an epic hunt to watch! I don’t know if there is a better video to help the non-Hunter understand hunting benefits and how LEGAL hunting can help ecology of an area as well as human economy… and you don’t even need to harvest the animal! Alas, great video, proud to be a hunter watching other successful hunters.

I have always loved how you always show hunting in a good light and the respect that the true hunters like yourself have is amazing to see. Through all the trials and tribulations i have always been a bowmar fan, so from this NC boy, thanks for all you do.

I’ve been watching your awesome Turkey hunting videos, but was initially shocked and appalled that you were “hunting” endangered white rhino. But then found out you were tranquillise darting them alongside trained conservation groups with a veterinarian. Excellent explanation and effort to help save the species. Great video! Sorry for the initial judgement! 😅

Thank you Josh from one hunter to another, as I explained to my son when I got him into the beautiful hunting tradition passed down by my father. I explained to him it is not always about killing something. A successful hunt can also be when you get to spend quality time with a loved one enjoying nature and to fully understand what hunting does for the conservation of all animals. You and Sarah are amazing and always humble for the opportunity that you both have.. Keep up the great work, hunt safe. Anthony

it's the hardest thing in the world trying to explain to an anti hunter that these hunts benefit the species. Most anti hunters i know use emotion over logic to guide their decisions and it's a crying shame because most anti's donate very little to the protection of endangered species.

I believe fully in the sustainable utilization of wild animals. If it wasn't for hunters, there would be far less game animals left in South Africa. The fact that hunters spend money on hunting results in farms being allowed to stay in business as game farms. Please don't forget us meat hunters, Game farmers of South Africa.... we cannot afford to pay the sums that overseas hunters pay.

A lot of people may mis interpret this. And hold you on the "value of the animal". What people dont understand is the relationship mans had with these creatures for so long. Sure we took it to far for a few generations. Repurations are not possible but rebuliding is. I hope africa hunts become more available to the common hunter. For me its but a long away dream
