Im from Boston so id have to agree..Boston teams have fans from everywhere..especially the Red Sox..its because theres so much history and great stories associated with them. The Patriots are kinda hated but even their story is great. But Bruins, Sox anf Celtics are the storied franchises that make fans outta people that have never even been to Boston.
I was a hardcore Canucks fan for this run. The Burrows goal single-handedly made me a fan of them. But after many years of not wanting to admit it, I now have to say, Boston deserved it way more. Vancouver showed up asleep to the Final, and Boston took advantage of them in every aspect. This was Canada's prime chance to win a Cup, yet those Canucks were never close to sealing the deal. I truly don't think any Canadian team will get a Cup for the foreseeable future.
I'm a Habs fan, and I love the Bruins. The game just wouldn't have that extra bit of fun without you guys. Every time they play, I just think I might get to witness more history in this rivalry. Thanks for some great losses, and wins over the years.
Fire Storm that wasn't even clever you gay tea bag. And im from Roxbury by the way. You can go back to fantasizing about your sister again, I'm done with ya....Tourette's is a bitch isn't it buddy
Anthony Sullivan Me? Gay? Naw! Oh hell NAW! If I could flatter everyone at my school including girls pretty sure I'm not gay. Oh yeah last time I checked I don't have a sister so yeah... Devan......Bruins fan here, you showed class, it should be addressed, no hate coming from me. Our history is documented, not so much from Boston, but we respect you because Montreal success, I am going to get hit hard from my Bruins Bro's, but it is what it is, I hate the Yankees as well, but the Habs are different for me, it is history, that is why we hate you because of your success, it is simple, OMG, Richard, LaFleur Roy, just the name a few, our hatred for you is in reality is Respect, if u want to be the best, you have to be beat the best. LOVE HOCKEY. I hope we ( Boston Philly ) never become ugly.
I was 11 when they won it last with Orr, I never had heros but the one and only picture I had on my wall was the flying Orr. So 2011 was a pleasant surprise, that leafs series, unbelievable.
"I felt like my job as a goalie was to give off the aura that I was relaxed and confident." Then pitches his second straight Game 7 shutout of the playoffs in Game 7 of the Final. Thomas will always hold a spot in my heart 29:27 Plus THE greatest save I've ever seen
I remember being at a bar in downtown Boston with about a few hundred other people and when Boston won the Stanley Cup after 39 long years, grown men and women were wiping away tears of elation, shock, happiness, joy and laughter even disbelief as they were the driving force (with the Habs and Flyers) of the 1970s winning twice (1970 and 1972) and losing in 1974, 1977 and 1978.
Chara was a beast and one of the best bruins. Can’t change my mind. Yes he made mistakes. What player hasn’t. But he played with grit and a playstyle I will never forget.
too bad game 7 in 2019 didn't pan out cause then it would be 2 cups in the 2010s and for chara, marchand, bergeron, krejci and rask and it would've been at home too. i think if they ahd won game 7 in 2019 marchand would've been the conn smythe winner
That Montreal series was something special. From getting booed out of the building after Game 2, to winning twice in Montreal and then, before Game 5, getting a standing ovation, it still, 12 years later, sends chills through me.
@williamkanejr3233 how is that relevant, history exists. The bruins have won less cups in their own building than their rival, it's beyond embarrassing
This Boston /Vancouver series is the epitome of playoff hockey. Everyone steps up and skates faster, hits harder, goaltending focus is next level..its a different sport in the playoffs and its the sport where you can most tell the drastic difference in play vs regular season.
Despite being a Leafs fan, I even enjoy the Bruins and it makes me think of Cheers. The Bruins Stanley Cup champions in 2011 were the team where everybody knows your name.
Been a bruins fan for my whole life (16 years) have little memory of them winning the cup cause I was 5. I want one back in Boston in the worst way seeing the heart break we have gone through since this cup.
Thinking back on this series, it went seven games for sure. But it wasn't like both teams were making it an epic series. Boston was clearly the better team. All there wins were by three goals or more while Vancouver won three games by one goal. That had to be concerning to be a Canucks fan even after you had a 3-2 series lead because Tim Thomas was the best player on the ice and the Bruins' defense was holding down a high-powered offense. Plus, I think Luongo shot himself in the foot with his comments on Tim Thomas.
Feel bad for Vancouver, could have been there first title. That was suppose to be there year. As a kings fan, hope Canucks fans get there first title soon
Timmy Thomas took this team & da city of Boston on his back . He was so dam good - I lost count of how many odd man rushes / breakaways Thomas stoned .
The video is well done but by no means captures what that run truly felt like. Ference giving the middle finger, Thomas smacking the dude in the crease with his stick, Luongo eith the pumping your tires comment, the pure hatred and emotion in all the series except philly. Winning the cup was glorious, but the ride that got us there was what made it special
Times flies by so fast. in a few more month in June it will be 10 years since winning the cup. Seems like yesterday. Miss that team lots of character players and lots of fighting . Lol. Bruins style .
This was the year I became a hockey fan. This series is why l became a Boston fan. I mistaken the fans' booing of Bettman for the Bruins so from that moment on I have been a Bruins fan.
didn't mention the the Canuck all getting admitted to SAG after their performances in the final. They proved you can't flop and act your way into a Stanley cup
I remember in the Canadiens series game 6 and 7 were back to back nights. But I didnt realize that until midday. I was so excited to not have to wait an extra 24
What I wish should've happened at many high school graduations that teens who are Bruins fans should've recreated Rene Rancourt's iconic fist pumps after getting their diploma. Like doing a salute for the girls they missed and fist pumps for the Bruins and their marvelous grades.
18:33-No matter the sport, team or event I always feel bad for kids like that.I was the same way when I was younger. It’s hard because its an emotional pain that you can’t fix like a skinned knee.
People say about Boston that we win enough as it is, but what they don't understand is that the agony of defeat is remembered more because the joy of winning is far too short. Even after a championship, there's another battle for a team of another sport.
"Boston.. arguably the most successful sports city" this was in 2011 lol we won 5 championships since then and the B's are back in the cup. LETS FUCKING GET IT.
2019 was a blowout loss where we just didn't have it, those losses happen. Even 2013 was a loss to a better team that clearly outplayed us in the series and made the plays that we didn't. The loss to Philly is the one that stings the most.
2019 was worse because we lost to a team that had never won a championship in its history 2013 we were favored to lose but at least to me it felt like we had more of a chance

As a Canuck fan wish we won, but the Bruins dig deep, and Tim Thomas was a brick wall. They deserved to win.Such a great series too

Tim Thomas absolutely stole the Stanley cup for the Boston bruins. He stood on his head throughout the playoffs
MVP, we would’ve never won it without him

I watch this video a lot, especially in tough times like the bruins losing to the panthers this year
EDIT*: BACK TO BACK YEARS NOW
Every year this has to be standard viewing on the first day of the playoffs. GO BRUINS!
Not quite day one but damn close! Let’s go B’s!!!!!
The Tampa series may genuinely be the most competitive non-rival playoff series ever
that series sort of started the rivalry those 2 teams have had since then
Timmy deserves to have his number in the rafters. If not for anything else, for this playoff run. It’s the greatest run I’ve ever seen for a goalie
Ya but to have your number retired you gotta be consistent
Seriously. I'm convinced he sold his soul for that cup. He was devilishly good, truly wicked.
I love those semi old 2010’s era lightning jerseys. 2000-2010’s jerseys were something else. Hockey is the greatest sport ever.
This is the best NHL Stanley Cup Champions DVD!
"it's our ice now"
