Not a Jack Edwards fan, but I love how the man gets excited and emotional. How he called the Price glove save and Subban goal was perfect, even if it was not the team he's rooting for.
All the homer talk is completely valid, however I will say that Jack almost always calls a very good game because of how knowledgable he is about the game.
For anyone not aware of the super computer Jack built with his 13 year old son, it's a 4 panel touchscreen that provides him with up to the second data and and stockpiles info on every player with an interface he can use to pull that with ease. Definitely a big reason why his knowledge of opposing teams is among the best of commentators around the league.
While NESN allowed Don Orsillo to leave and broke up the pair of him and Remy on Red Sox broadcasts, keeping Jack & Brick together is paramount for that network because Bruins fans really love how that duo interact during a game.
Hes a huge fan of his team, I can respect that, even if some of his calls are trash lol
Jackie Edwards knows & loves Hockey ... does he get a Lil too fired up now & then ? Maybe .
Does he hate divers / turtles? Yes
Is Jackie a homer ? Yes . Does Jacky Edwards love to smoke a fat blunt & watch his Bruins kick ass ? You bet yo ass
Jack is the best and he IS fair and complimentary of other teams when calling games. He also calls out bullcrap, such as Subban taking that dive. He's also not averse to calling out the Bruins if they deserve it. People need to be honest and realize their own hometeam announcers are homers too. And they should be. I don't get the hate for this guy. He does get emotional and colorful and that's why I love him. Andy Brickley too. The best play-by-play and analyst duo in hockey. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! 😐
I grew up in Boston and when I was a kid it was Fred Cusick and then it was Dale Arnold and Gorde Kluzak along with Brick of course and it’s been Jack and Brick for a long time and I LOVE THEM! I don’t know how people can be B’s “fans” and not LOVE Jack and Brick! I have lived in N.C. for over 12 years (thanks to Uncle Sam lmao well that and my stupidity for buying a house down here instead of where I want to live which is probably Idaho or somewhere similar) and occasionally watching a Canes game I will say I hope Jack and Brick stay together for MANY YEARS to come because most of these other teams commentators are GARBAGE (including The Canes)
“THE BRUINS!!!!! KNOCK OUT MONTREAAAAAAALLLL!!!!” Will always be one of my favorite calls by Jack Edwards as a Bruins fan
That one and Patrice knocking in the OT Game 7 winner versus Toronto in ‘13 are goated 🐐
Tim Thomas entered the 2011 playoffs 0-2 in game 7's, finished the playoffs 3-2 in Game 7's
DJ Flakes he was the reason they won the cup from a bruins fan I will say that
I wish we had Thomas in net for tonight's game 7 vs the leads in 2019.
Scott Fortier is Rask not enough? For future reference, Tuuka turned into Tuuka God.
He was enough for the leafs. Not for the blues. This year, he will be #CovidCup2020
Timmy took Tending to another level in the 2011 Playoffs... Thomas was so dam clutch No Team stood a chance in beating the Bruins that Year .
Ahh the memories. Bruins and Habs: Best rivalry in sports.
***** Except the whiny Habs fans. Most are decent, but there are those who are awful
Same could be said for any team bud
***** Even it they made it they would have lost, it was a rough year. I will enjoy watching those Habs loose though! Props though, you guys had a great season. Go SENS!
***** Actually I will have to correct you there, Toronto and Montreal is the best rivalry in sports
Trent Aubie The main reason why I think it's the best (i'm from Boston so i'm biased) is because they are built totally different on the ice. Habs are fast, speedy, more skilled, annoying to play against. Bruins: Big, physical, hard nosed. And I think the fact they have played each other more times in the playoffs than any other team makes it a great rivalry. But to each their own
I love when Kelly scores and hamerlick whines to the ref and jack edwards is like "HE DOVE ONE TIME TO MANY!!!"
"The Bruins knock out Montreal!!"
I fucking love jack edwards he's the man
Montreal has done that to Boston 25 times...Boston's only done it to Montreal 9 times.

Nathan Horton. Forever a legend. Brings a tear to my eye
My favorite playoff series is always going to be BOS-MTL. Especially when it goes to a game 7.
OT of Game 7 is a Boston tradition.
Christopher Johnson you got that right baby!!!!
So true, GO BRUINS!!!!

“THE BRUINS KNOCK OUT MONTREAL!”
My All-Time Favorite Jack Edwards quote.
The very next series "SUMMERTIME...IS COMING...TO PHILADELPHIA!!!!" is pretty damned good too...
billybob lillybob
Yeah but if you’re A Hardcore Bruin(Like I am) anytime you hear the Bruins knocking Those Hated Habs out of The Playoffs is just Pure Nirvana!
@@Jiltedin2007 I am...it is! Look up the game 4 Philly call though. Lucic scores to make it 3-1 with like 5 minutes to go. It's a pretty solid call...
billybob lillybob
Oh I loved that call too, after the Bruins swept out the Flyers, that was “Sweep Revenge” for going up 3-0 then losing to them the year before. And the fact that they did it at Boston was even better!
1974 is still painful to me! Do you go back that far?
@@Jiltedin2007 I have vague recollections being only 8 at the time. The Flyers and the Rangers were teams I learned to hate but not nearly as much as hating the Canadiens...
Dafoomie - you rock. The highlights are not too long. I want a feel for the game = the hits, controversial penalties, goals, etc. Your highlights are 1000% times more true to the game experience than what the NHL puts together. Thanks a million, brother.
What a great series. Both teams played their hearts out. Price is an outstanding goalie.
I don't hate subban because he's black, you can have polka dots for all I fuckin care.
But god I really can't stand trying to sell penalties with that level of transparency.
That Subban slapshot to tie it up was a missle. Still can't stand him
"THE BRUINS KNOCKOUT MONTREEEAAAALLLLL!!!"
+HardcoreHockey Jack Edwards have the best call in this game! I enjoyed this series SO MUCH!!!!
+HardcoreHockey 18 stanley cups to go boys see you in like.................. never? lol
+S3b hitman most of those Stanley cups were when there were not a lot of teams so gg
+S3b hitman Too bad Montreal can't win any in todays NHL. See you when your team is relevant again... never? lol
+iFinlander They aren't winning anything because they have a shitty team and rely on Carey Price to make them look good
All respect to Carey Price in this series. The man was unreal, and just didn't get the bounces. I'm a huge Bruin's fan, but I can't deny how well he played.
I don’t think there’s ever been a team in ANY sport this determined to win a championship
Hopefully this seasons Bruins team will make this the second most determined squad

I don't know why, but I watch this video every day.
When im feeling down, i watch this!
I may HATE the Habs, but I LOVE the Bruins/Montreal rivalry even more.

Not to make this thread alive again, but now look at you guys crying about us winning.
Hahahaha, Oh, the fucking irony.
+Tommy Sandal: Winning what? Fuck all.
Tommy Sandal Winning what? No Cups in 25 years
Tommy Sandal that didn’t last long
This bruins team goes down as one of the best ever hands down
One of my greatest memories as a longtime diehard bruins fan. This day sadly was bittersweet for me. While watching this game I had streaming on my computer ABC 33/40’s coverage of the Super Outbreak where I watch as a monstrous F4 Tornado went right through the middle of Tuscaloosa, AL. And so many more major tornadoes hit that day. I never screamed so loud In my life when Horton scored in OT. Great memory for me but bittersweet day.
That was such an emotional battle. Even knowing that Boston wins, it is still stressful to watch. My heart went out to Bergeron, getting that late penalty leading to the tying goal. I remember how stressed I was watching, especially being a Bruins fan who grew up in Montreal.
Edwards is one of the best in calling a game, and this one is no different. Even when Price was making some of those incredible saves, the play by play call was so exciting.
Jack's the best. Even now, although he has slowed down a bit. I've always enjoyed his play-by-play with Brick. GO BRUINS!!! 🐻 🏒
I love how the Habs needed two bad penalty calls to even stay alive in the series.
Bobby Mulligan Remember they needed TWO 5 on 3 goals in Game 6 just to get to Game 7?
It isn't our fault you guys were shit on the pk

I now realize how much the Bruins missed Nathan Horton and his clutch scoring during these 2012 playoffs.
As a Ranger fan, this was the only round that I rooted against Boston that postseason. After Boston won this series, I rooted for them the rest of the way through. By the way, this OT goal ended Montreal’s game 7 winning streak at 3.
hahaha jack at 10:30
perfectly captures how tough hockey players are. What a great series this was. Its going to be a rematch this year!! GO BRUINS!
21:23 the call we’re all here for.
16:41 For a supposed homer, Jack Edwards had a VERY passionaite call on Subban's tying goal
its just a narrative for bruins haters. they have to find a way to hate on them
Edwards is actually very neural compared to other announcers. Bruins haters will find literally anything to pick at.
thats was not even a high stick 16:12.
such an incredible playoff run, i just love watching these recap vids, in both this series and against the lightning i did not know who was going to win until the final game of the series was officially over
It doesn't matter if your a habs or bruins fan,i think we can all agree this was one hell of series.Amazing hockey
BB - THE BEST TEAM OF THE WORLD
Who else misses the 2010-2011 bruins roster
A glorious collection of glorious video from a glorious game with a glorious outcome. Dafoomie, you kick ass. Thanks a ton for putting these highlight reels together.
Ten years ago today (4/27/21). One of the most intense games I’ve ever watched. The entire season series against the Habs that year was just crazy. You had the game long line brawl in February, the Max Pacioretty hit. The Bruins couldn’t lose this game and thank God they didn’t. When Horton scores in OT, I will never forget the sheer joy I felt. Jack Edwards says he almost passed out and saw stars and I was right there with him.
Couldn't have said it better my friend
Best series I've ever watched right here
21:27 Best part and im a canucks fan and i respect the bruins
Perfect world: world peace, no hunger or disease, 0% unemployment and the Habs go 0-82 every year...losing each game in the last minute of play.
+Ed Stevens best comment ever
you mean the Bruins go 0-82?
ImperialAggron took you 2 months to formulate that retort...yeah, you must be fun at parties.
Ed Stevens not like I first stumbled upon the video last night or anything lol
+ImperialAggron No.
That was a great series and both deserved to go to the semifinals! The Bruins did it. Congratulations for the Cup! NHL fan from Switzerland "Go Bruins Go"

please don't shorten these videos, they are great. Sure watching Bruins in 2 is great, but that's a one time thing for most of us. Especially for those of us who were at the games...
Leave them as is, you're doing a great job.

Bobmarley12346ify Complaining about the boston play by play commentator is not going to make Montreal any better. Btw they've had their job for a long time so they don't "suck".
@dafoomie I agree with the decripton part, however I love the lengths of these playoff games videos, they are great! I have watching them all at least three times. Thanks so much for these great videos! GO BRUINS!
Every time the Bruins beat the Canadiens an angel gets his wings,
Never forget the moment we won, "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH!!! FUCKIN A!!!"

Did anyone else find the 2011 playoffs to be a lot more exciting than the 2012 playoffs? I say this as a LEafs fan.
Great series .
This rivalry is great. But greater still is the need to wipe out the Canadiens completely and devastate their franchise for the next generation. This defeat must be abject and comprehensive- compelling them to look inwards and change the brand of hockey they play, embracing character and integrity and leaving behind the Scylla of play acting and the Charybdis of referee bailouts.
Well said
Another idiot who thinks french refs can't work in a Habs game. Ok so, tell me genious... who will ref in a Habs v.s any americain franchise ? Well, Americain refs can't work in these game, right ? So ??? Oh, right, we should call the fucking refs from China... good thinking.
Ben88 Where the hell did I write "french refs can't work in a Habs game"? And I think you mean Quebecois, not French, refs by the way...
Habs suck. Habs fans suck. Always have, always will. Embellishment is a penalty that was instituted by the NHL specifically to deal with the fact that the Canadiens are all whiny cowards.
The ambiance at the Bell center in Montreal is amazing
Frédéric Larose
the bell center is actually shit... small corridors, shit quality, if there was ever a fire everyone would be screwed.
LOL Brad. Marchand.
Hahahaha Graham Willson, you fucking crybaby. If the playoffs were to start now you guys would be a first round exit team against US. Stop living in the past. Guess what coach we had when (I admit) we DID dive? Claude Julien. Guess what coach you losers have now?
That's right. CLAUDE FUCKING JULIEN.
That makes you guys divers. There's also video evidence of it too: www.habseyesontheprize.com/2014/4/28/5656426/nhl-playoffs-2014-canadiens-bruins-divers-embellishment-city-boston-flop-divefiles
I used to agree with the whole Canadians are whiny cowards thing, but if you look at this 2014-15 team they have a lot more grit and vigar than some of the weak pussy ass teams of the past, this team has guys that can fuck people up and won't get pushed around as badly.
Remember when Boston's 3rd and 4th lines were good and showed up in the playoffs?
I watched every single game of these playoffs. The longest playoffs as a Bruins fan so far. It was well worth it though. So many times I almost had a heart attack but worth it to see them raise the cup. Every single Boston area team has won a championship in the last decade. Best sports town period.
lmao the commentator was so happy : THE BRUINS KNOCK OUT MONTREAL. Yea that happens rarely
stop living in the 70s
see what happens this year
Tracy Banks
Yea bruins will be swept
If by rarely you mean 7 of the last 11 playoff series then yea the Bruins rarely knock off Montreal
Yeah, 20-50 years ago that happened rarely. Much more common as of late. Let's see what happens this year, too.
this is the most biased commentating ive ever heard in my life. Ference with a shoulder to the head, away from the puck, on Halpern and its Halpern's fault? i cant stand these commentators.
Halpern purposely skated directly into Ference with the intention of taking a dive and therefore causing another shit call against the Bruins.
Unfortunately, Halpern didn't place it too well.
Screw you
ONE of the greatest hockeytowns as much of a big habs fan i am i still will agree that boston is a great hockey city and they have great fans i injoy watching this rivalry go at each other in the playoffs and in the season always one of the best teams to play against :)
5:40 Lmao that Subban diving, so funny
Watching this in 2019 waiting for game 7 vs Leeds tonight. Hopefully Bruins can find the magic they had in 2011 playoffs again.
The biggest difference is Thomas was much better then Rask in big games.
Watching this, you realize how close the eventual Stanley Cup champions were to first round elimination. I had forgotten, but watching this I recall now how hard my butt was clenched seeing it live.
I miss hockey so much I am actually cheering for the goals
Everyone knows Refs love the Habs, Stats prove it.
Just here paying my respect to a great Jack Edwards game now he's retired.
THE BRUINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT MONTREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow even after watching this replay 12 years later I still have tears.
I'm not a bruins fan but you got to love Jack Edwards.
What a game
Watching this I am reminded of how terribly officiated this game was. Kelly Sutherland and Time Peele were the only reason Montreal was in the game at all.
Let me state this clear: I am a Habs fan, and this Game 7 will always be a huge heart-breaker, especially as I look at this vid and recall now how close this game was. This being said, it definitely pisses me off to see fellow CH fans trying to denigrate the Bruin's Cup run. The Bruins were able to come back TWICE from a 2-0 game deficit. They were the underdog going against the Nucks, and won. And Tim Thomas had the greatest Cup run a goalie ever had. You gotta be CRAZY to call this luck.
@br71488 My pleasure ;) BTW, thanks a lot for rocking the Leafs’ asses all season long, this was a true source of joy. Hope you guys reach at least the Conference finals. I like it when the Champs can defend their title.
That game was awesome! I jumped to the roof when subban scored, but the bruins showed that they were a little bit better, and went to the cup. Epic playoffs that year.
