Guys i just want to say THANK YOU!! for sharing this project, for spending all that coin and all that time. Thank you for bringing joy to others every time a new vid drops. You're true innovators and inspirations.
The camshafts have been, by far, the hardest part of my flat plane Coyote build. I finally found someone to build them for me, but they are $$$!! Making custom stuff is so cool, though. Totally worth it! Nice work!
Congratulations! Exciting day. Have you heard of any corp looking at making this head for the masses? Seems like a no brainer. Im still hoping you guys are the catalyst.
The secondary timing chains and tensioner are prone to failure in modified/ raced 4 valve applications. They have aftermarket components like HD secondary chain's, tensioner and hardware kit to fix the issue.
That’s so awesome! I’m excited to hear it run, probably not as excited as you guys are. The other option for your timing gears is to have a key way cut into the gear where you want it and you can always get offset ground keys if you need to change it
hey guys, after the start up and beakin, would a twin turbo setup be on the list And are you guys going to talk to someone to mass-produce these heads V10 owners would love that, to have a v10 with 4 valves , just plain AWESOME at least give it some thought Thanks guys for building this engine and making these videos for us, I believe I can say that we all appreciate it 😁
As a older gear head watching the birth of your 40 valve V-10 was amazing to see, I am really looking forward to seeing the results once installed in the car. If you intend to test and tune out at Milan Dragway please let us viewers know.
If you ever need to hone a part like that balancer pulley again, Lisle makes an inexpensive version of the Sunnen-style hone. I think it's a little over a hundred bucks if I remember correctly. Sunnen guaranteed less than half a thou the length of a typical engine cylinder but you can actually beat that with that style hone if you're careful, especially on that smaller bore, and more importantly, your bore will stay perfectly round. In fact, if it's a little out of round to start these hones will make them round. Hopefully you'll be okay here but since you're talking about cranking 8-10k RPM you may want to think about doing that next time to be absolutely certain you keep your concentricity upon install.
When you guys talked about grinding the front of your crankshaft off, i cringed. And then after further thought, you came up with a genius solution that ive seen on other engines with just a thick washer to eat up that extra space- Good thinking!
I don't wanna take away from how awesome this project is, but I really want you guys to make some performance intakes and cams just for the 2 valve. Nothing crazy, but the stock intake is like a coal miners lung.
tings about time, why things brake... trimming a Dodge AAM1150 to fit in a thunderbird was a task, the day after their was a foot of very cold snow on the ground. a 4.6 broke the 8.8IRS 5 times snapped 3 axles and bent two... the engine only idles plowing snow, the 8.8 differential was referenced as "chicken legs". when they brake the car stops and the rear wheels pop off and roll past 🤣... happy those are gone, but nearly weld blind welding it in of jack stands with 135 year old welding rods, new one's but same old stick's. that motor will have a lot of torque at idle!
Another thing you could look at doing is that if you do have to grind off your key you could degree it where you need it, mark it, and broach a new recessed keyway into the gear, then slide in an actual piece of key stock. I'm 6:30 in and can't wait to watch the rest. Been excited to see this run for a long time, as I'm sure you guys are way more than me.
When using the stamped vs cast trigger wheel, it required a thicker timing sprocket. If you haven't already, I would suggest checking that you got the right timing sprocket in your kit.
So insane. Most ambitious build yet. I remember searching for a built 6.8 v10 and I couldn't find any videos showing any serious v10 build. I'd look it up every other week, when suddenly I saw your guys' first video in the search results. Incredible to see you guys actually go through with the entire build, not manh people wouldve kept on something this complex. Hopefully you guys really popularize the v10 as a performance platform. Cant wait to see how this does in the Lincoln.
It's great to finally see the build complete, I'm extremely excited and filled with anticipation, I hope the engine starts with no problems, this is giving me goosebumps, to finally hear this engine roar, will be worth the wait Great job guys, I'm hooked CRANK THAT MONSTER ❤😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I love V-10'S
So impressed with your vision and execution. You guys are PRO in my book. Not many people can pull this off. I'd love to meet you guys someday. Our business is Performance Assembly Solutions in Livonia.
A long time coming guys but, as they say, all good things take time. What makes my heart ache is that you had to rely on a company from China to do what should be a relatively easy assignment to get your cam cores. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do to get the job done. Fingers crossed for your startup 🤞
❤❤❤❤❤ very anxious to see you guys start that engine and to see how well it works it give people a lot of rendition into what to do with the V10.... I'm the same way I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 with the crappy 2.7 l V6 I don't know which way to go far is repowering want to do something different. 😊
🤯 Holy cow does this thing sound rowdy guys 👌🏻 Out of curiosity how much money do you have tied up in the engine and do you have plans to make castings of the heads in the future?
Watching you search for the cam bearings made me realize that you fellows need to do what I do: Build some shelves. With enough shelves, you can amass and thoroughly organize enough good parts, bad parts, broken parts, parts you might need, and pieces of things to make parts from, that your shelves become walls. You can then hang more shelves on your newly created walls, until finally your workspace is so small you take up bird watching.
This is some seriously technical stuff y'all are doing here. I'm new to the channel though and was wondering about your backgrounds/schooling that allows you the know how to do all of this. Is there a past video that covers that? Anyways...keep up the great work!
One of the coolest engine builds on YT! 👍
260in/263exh duration at .050 with .500in/.504exh lift is a freaking gnarly and huge cam spec.
Not really kinda mild honestly can be a lot higher
@@benjaminwatson7868 There is nothing mild at all about those specs, not even kind of.

Thank you for the kind words! We are just glad you enjoy the build and the progress!
This is truly an insane engine build, so ready to hear it run!
Probably the most exciting build on youtube
sucks getting beat around the bush by that guy on the cams. glad it finally got set straight!!
Your channel is by far the most underrated RUclips channel for car guys. I wish you guys the best
Thank you, that means a lot to us!

Somehow I knew you guys would make us wait to hear it run. Huge respect for getting the project this far. It's been a great ride following the build.
Guys I believe this is a SEMA worthy project. Even if outside the venue.
Easily better than B is for Build.
@@RollingRoadEFI lol, that's a low bar to surpass

It deserves a Nobel 🏆 for bringing all Motörheads together regardless of the platform.
This is incredible.
Congratulations! Exciting day. Have you heard of any corp looking at making this head for the masses? Seems like a no brainer. Im still hoping you guys are the catalyst.
I'm betting Ford engineers are watching but you got to get the marketing people behind it
Once it runs and people really start hearing about it, it'll catch on with the masses and the demand will rise
@@brianmifsud4531 i was thinking like Brodix or Edelbrock, etc. Aftermarket. But either way, it should happen.
Of all the channels I follow, I look forward to these videos the most. As a v10 owner, I'm so stoked to see someone do something cool with this
V10 so underrated
Fraction of the maintenance cost of anything diesel with decent performance. Owner as well. Very pleased
Thanks for the shout out on the tensioner.
I hope you used a little rtv on the crank bolt, washer and spacer. Oil will seep out.
Can’t wait to hear it!
Cant wait to see and hear the finished product. AMAZING build
This is insane guys. Amazing work. So cool to see a list that long get finished. Hope the start goes really well.
Nice camshaft engine stand legs
Rarely is an engine as beautiful inside as it is outside but you two pulled it off.

With 13:1 compression they won't be turbocharging this thing without a whole new set of pistons.
And also, make sure y'all clear those plastic shavings off of the vent for the motor for your lathe so it can keep cool!
Gahhhh what a tease! J/k cool to see the final stages of tho, can’t wait for the follow up

4 sets of custom made cams. ohmy those are nice
FYI the key 'way' is the slot on the cam. The key would be the tooth on the gear.
