1964 is a good year to stack for the reasons you mentioned for sure. i like to cherry pick from the "junk bin" and find the best conditions for the older coins. So awesome that you are able to find it in Coin Star machines!

I've also found nearly BU condition Kennedy's within a wide range of dates, so just keep your eyes open for the good stuff Sal.

I agree, I am stacking mostly the coins from the 60's because they tend to be in the best condition with the least wear on them. It doesn't make sense to me at least, to buy coins from the 20's - 50's just because they are older, since anything that is being sold as junk silver is common dates anyway. If they ever start buying junk silver by weight, then you'll be glad you stacked the best condition coins.

1st off constitutional videos are my favorite. My best purchases are from Pawn shops that flip 90% as fast as possible. I have 2 that sell at SPOT.
I have 1 LCS that I do a Basic HVAC tune-up on twice a year in trade.

My best deals on constitutional come from private parties. Occasionally the large dealers are reasonable- but those coins are pretty picked through for anything interesting. Private sales - I always find a hidden gem! Good luck every one!

I also monitor those machines opportunistically. I once saw two girls leave a silver dime there and walk away. Of course I nabbed it immediately lol.

I love constitutional coins. My favorite is the dimes. Every time I got to my LCS I have them add 5-10 dimes to my purchase

I must say, the Franklins are my favorite to collect. Mainly I just go for old dimes and quarters for their silver content.

Great info and I've been buying coin rolls from the banks with no luck, so I've been going through my LCS with good pricing. I bought some 40% Kennedy Half-Dollars from a local person and found there were 4, 90% in the tubes, which made my day.

There is no $3.50 premium on " junk silver" like there is now on generic silver ounces.I am now buying all junk silver because I refuse to be robbed.

You need $1.40 face to equal 1 oz of silver. 1.40x19=$26.60 per oz. $19 is what I am pay for face. Spot is 22.50. $4.10 in premium.

Hey SW...what were you doing at a coin star? Don't you know we're having a coin shortage? 🤣 I think @Silver Dragons did a video on how to calculate 90% premium and has a cheat-sheet you can download. You're right, private sales is the best way to buy it. I really don't like calling it "junk" silver, feels disrespectful a little to me, prefer 90% or Constitutional. But to each their own. Good Post!

Peer to peer is the way to go. eBay is not bad, but you need to buy a bigger lot to get a better deal.
Sheesh that was a good deal.

My pawn shop calls me when stuff comes out of pawn . When it comes in been getting dimes for 17 times face and Morgan’s for 25 times face even lucked out and got a few 1996 silver eagles for 30 each he doesn’t care about America silver , he prices Canada silver much higher I’m kinda confused about that one back dated maples for 35 I’ll just stick with pre 64 American and generic for 2.50over spot

I have collected some Constitutional Silver but I realized that I was paying too much. So I stopped because it seems all the online prices are too high for junk silver. I might try my local pawn shop. They do coins, etc.

I just bought a Mercury Dime album. So that’s coming any day now. I look at my Washington Quarter album and think about what that costed me to complete. And now I’m gonna start Mercurys’s. This is very bad. My OCD will not allow me to not finish this. It’s gonna get pricey.

Hi, Wolv. I don't stack circulated coins. I don't like the dirt. My stack is BU and Proof. I like BU rolls. I quit stacking silver when it hit $17 spot. At the time, that was about $20 delivered. Premiums were smaller then. I still add ASE, Libertad, and Maple Leaf bullion coins to my collection yearly, but I am only buying a single example of each. I will add Morgan & Peace Dollar bullion coins when the Mint starts that program. I also collect US Commemorative Dollars, but they are far from bullion coins. I love collecting silver dollars. I don't think there is a right or wrong way to stack. Just be aware of the price. I take into consideration the amount of space my silver stack takes up. I am content with the size of my silver stack. I am even considering selling my generics and keeping only monetized coins. I continue to stack frac gold. I stick to monetized coins in gold also. *TYU*

I occasionally hit the coin star machines, but what is your ‘technique’ when walking last these machines?
(Some people have asked ‘how does one do this without thinking they are being watched?’ Any hints as to what actions you take to reach in the slots?
