i have gas spilled on my deck carpet, would this remove gas stain and smell?
thanks
john
Hey JW! Two things, you need to attack the smell (a mix of vinegar and hot water) and then use baking soda to try to absorb the remaining gas. Once you do both of those steps, you could certainly try a steam cleaner to see if you can get as much gas up out of the carpet as possible! Was it a lot or a small area?
@@FHCOutdoors small area, small amount about a cup full while transferring gas.
i keep my boat in garage and can still smell the gas.will try the vinegar baking soda.
thanks
jw228w ok I think you can get most of it out! Soak it in hot water with half vinegar. Let it soak for a couple hours. Come back and vacuum the water up. Sprinkle baking soda on it. Let it absorb. Clean that up and hopefully you’ll notice a big improvement.
Is this steam cleaning procedure safe for the carpet adhesive?
Don Ausmus the way I do it with this model, yes! But if you were to use a commercial steamer or something that uses excessive heat, I would strongly advise using caution. I have used this on multiple boats and in my vehicles with great success!
