- The Pyrenees Stage Run is a 7-day race along 220 km of the GR11. The course passes through 5 Natural Parks, starting and finishing in Catalonia, Spain while crossing the entire country of Andorra. Audrée and I teamed up for the event which is run in teams of either 2 or 3, and it would be her goal race for the season as I used it as a training run for my own. But this adventure would feel as much like a running vacation as anything else as we stayed in hotels and ate delicious food each day, making some new friends from around the world along the way.

I came to Switzerland for a 2 week hiking adventure in the Alps and find myself stuck in a hotel room with covid. Watching this film helped take away some of my disappointment. BEAUTIFUL ❤️ and I must say there isn't a video you guys have made that I haven't watched several times each since finding your chanell, absolutely the best on RUclips or mainstream TV either actually by far .. amazing and I'd like to add I'm a bit of a runner ,hiker and camper around my home country Scotland , and I noticed you saying the best valley you have seen during this video , isn't it amazing how often we do this as when you turn a corner no matter if you have been in the most beautiful places on earth , the next corner , the next summit is always the most beautiful at that time on that day

How great! I know exactly where the horses at the 44-45 minute mark were, because I saw them as well during my visit to Andorra. Amazing little country 😍 I love all those almost vertical climbs. Not so much the vertical descents 😅

You need to go to Corsica, France, guys! 😄 The mountains there are WON-DER-FUL!! 🤩 And there is a point there, in the high mountains, where you can see the sea at both sides of the island 🤩

I'm catalan, I've been to all those places (hinking not running ^^'), also Andorra, good video! The descent from Port de Baiau (where that person got injured) is the trickiest point of all GR11 imo, I've always done it in the opposite direction.
Super cool! They also organise other stage run and I’ve done the 3 days Costa Brava this year that I highly recommend : 2 formats: 20/30/30 or 20/50/50km
Adding as I’m watching: stage 5 seems to do a similar route than the UTMB 50km Andorra that I’ve done 2 weeks ago 😂
Thanks for taking us along the experience ! Your videos always seem to tap into the actual experience. This is now on my list of to do! Currently expecting baby 3 but looking forward to training post-partum and perhaps tackling this in 2025? More likely 2026 😂 but a girl can dream. (And hope for the physical strength and fortune of registration!)

You were lucky with the wind going up to the Puigmal, that wind it's called Tramuntana and comes from the coast of Girona, and believe that it cand be much much worst.

Not done watching this race yet but am so loving what these countries look like. I’ve from New England. No open space. Too many trees. I dream of having the energy that you both do. I’m a senior now but being a trail runner was always what I did in CA. Can’t do it now but live through what your videos bring to me. Joy and angst. Love you both. D

🎉🎉so interesting watching you and Audree team up on a stage race. How was the actual running compared to RTP? So curious. I bet having lighter packs and a decent bed were conducive to good recovery.
Much more mountainous terrain compared to RTP, but great not having to carry such a heavy pack!

Amazing film again. You mention your "recovery routine" a few times. I am curious, in a multi day event like that, what is your recovery routine? Other than refueling, are there any other things you focus on?

Protein shake is always the first thing, usually followed by some rolling with a ball or foam roller (depending what we have with us when we travel), and maybe some stretching.

A large portion of the runners I would say were there just to finish.
Lots of teams on “vacation pace” and they had just as much fun as we did.

Your video's are beautiful. I was curious why your drone footage sometimes looks a little choppy? It's like it's a different frame rate or something?
Could be a frame rate difference. This was all shot in 30 fps, but I publish in 24 fps. I slowed most of it down to 24, but not all.
