I just love how those wooden lids for the glass storage jars, or bowl, actually also serve as a coaster. Quite handy if the jar has been microwaved or heated in the oven, and then just place it on the lid!
I use the ikea bags are laundry bags. They are big enough to take a huge load of laundry to the basement and because they have handles, I can throw them over my shoulder and have my hands free. They are fantastic. I also use them for recycling. We have to separate our recycling here, so I have several hung on my garage wall for easy separation…. Then if there was anything gross in there, I hose them out. Love these bags!!
Those big Ikea bags are perfect for moving your child to college. They take up little storage once there. We just used them on vacation when we needed to bring our own linens to the house we stayed in. Then they became our laundry bags. The best.
I Love their children section because, I love their toys both, great pricesed and durable. The dog beds can double up as a place for your baby to nap too. I am also crazy about their bags, very useful. Don't go often but, when I do, I usually spend about 3 to 4 hours. IKEA is like a museum experience for me personally. I have never seen the plastic/silicone covers, definitely will get next time. Their knives are also very high end at a comfortable price.
Love Ikea, in general, but especially for their kids stuff. We bought the mega paper roll & holder & it has gotten so much use. We've made huge birthday signs, during the quarantine we made signs to post on Grammas' door, get well signs for neighbors...it's amazing the ideas you get with unlimited paper. Plus their tea set with some of the fabric food goodies have kept the kids occupied for hours! And we've had the set for 4 years & only have one chip!
It has just been during this year that I hear so much about throw pillow covers in videos from English-speaking countries, just as much as I hear about how to put your duvet cover on by grabbing the inner edges etc. This is quite interesting and fascinating ... in Germany, we are used to having throw pillow covers rather than having tons of throw pillows. We are also used to putting covers on our blankets (we do not have duvets, each person has their own blanket 😉) and pillowcases by grabbing the inner edges of the cover and those of the blanket/pillow and pull the cover over it. It is great what social media can do for cultural exchange 😍🥰 Love your channel. You are so authentic and nice.
Yes, I'm always surprised when shops just sell the cover and cushion together. I remember them always being available separately when I was younger, and some shops still do today, here in the UK. I don't want to store cushions, so even if I like a cover I might not buy the whole item. It's always possible to buy a new cushion for an old cover, although it depends on whether it's a standard size or not.
I have moved from one city aptm to another with IKEA bags....they are so cool Balenciaga copied it and sold his for $2000😳😳 Best of all, if yours breaks they will replace it (at least that is true in Europe)
Tried buying the big ones this year (I have one and it’s awesome) and the store is no longer selling the large ones, only a smaller version 😐 I asked just to be sure. I am in PA, USA so maybe other stores still sell the huge ones ?
@@deboraballes9044 I didn't know they'd replace a broken bag! Thanks for the tip! I'll see if they do in the UK next time I visit, as I do have one that is starting to come apart after many years of use

The bags! Not only the size but the strength!!!? I have never broken one!!! I have 37389373 and have given away just as many 😂. So good for dirty laundry, shoes, obviously groceries, holds all my Sam's club bulk items just fine. My new use for ikea bags is when we go away it holds 3 pillows long ways! I binder clip the short handle closed so it doesn't flop open and then use long handle! That's my fav hack with ikea bags carrying anything on a trip bc I use them often. Keeping it closed with a large binder clip. I swear, I'm obsessed, and not sorry about it🤗
My favorite "secret" product at IKEA is the simple white glass serving bowls but used as regular bowls instead. They are about $2-3 each and make AMAZING soup/salad/pasta/etc. bowls. They are big enough for anything you could possibly eat, super easy to clean (nothing sticks to them really), and since they are a simple white design they make everything look professionally presented. I barely even use our regular sized bowls anymore.
Yes!! Those are my family's official cereal/oatmeal/cream of wheat bowls. They're the best size. I wouldn't have any idea of water to oatmeal ratio in a different bowl. My husband loves them (I think they've really bonded 😁).
@@sinsitysinderella790 here we go. I would never be able to cook grits by recipe. I have a certain bowl I just fill it with stuff and fill it with stuff and put it in where I'm gonna do it and it comes out good. Sometimes not so good. Sort of like life isn't it. Ha ha
I honestly love the paper napkins from ikea! They have lovely thick dinner size and a small size that just feel like amazing quality. I also like how inexpensive some random cleaning things are like toilet brushes, dishes brushes and the dish drying mats
Around 3:20. Not specially an ikea hack, but if you put your cushion inserts into one-size-smaller covers, your couch cushions never turn into sad flat rectangles. Gives a lux impression-and they’re more comfie
More of these PLEASE. I live across the street from Ikea but, never go because it is overwhelming and I'm disabled. I love to go with a list of items then it's fun and manageable. Thank you!
I ALWAYS want to buy some stuff from that section every time I'm there 😂 The one closest to me has a bunch of furniture. I'm always like "???" since there are so many colleges and PEOPLE around. Maybe the stuff gets donated?
I have found fabulous stuff there: a lovely patterned armchair cover set, that was a limited edition and I wanted but couldn't afford at full price (I found it in the odds & ends fabric bin for less than £10!); a Nikkeby two drawer chest for half price; a Muskan shelving unit for £10 (already put together, so it might have been ex-display); and one that I didn't buy - the Jonaxel 3 tier shelving unit for £12. When I went home, I measured my counter top freezer and realised that the unit would have been the perfect size, plus the raised bars would (and do) keep the freezer from moving when I open the door. I ended up paying £29 (which is very reasonable) for it. It's definitely worth looking at that section, especially if you know the dimensions of what you want the item for. I bought the armchair covers and the Muscan unit many years ago and they're still going strong.
I'm all for helping people, but Ikea is a business and many people fonate their old furniture when they buy new. (Why colleges, btw?) In the UK, there are charity shops that sell furniture cheaply, including Noah's which also trains people so that they can find work. The Salvation Army and other organisations receive donated items that they give to people who are struggling. Other furniture business get stuff returned or have ex-display stuff that they don't always make available to their customers at such good discounted prices; nor do they donate them. I was grateful to be able to buy discounted items at Ikea when I wasn't working and had to move home.
For parents taking their kids to college, IKEA makes these huge duffle bags made out of the same plastic material as their blue shopping bags. They hold a ton, are easy to store in the dorm room when empty, and were very handy to use again when we moved our son out of his dorm.
@@GameOver-jq1cu oh that's a double smart. In another post of somebody, guess it was about Aldi's comment, someone said they leave their bags in their car. They have to go out there anyway. Good Morning. So excited for this video. I love Ikea, I moved from Europe to the US 15 years ago, and this is my mini European vacation. Anyway I also love their duvet covers for kids. It goes along with the pillow case idea. It also makes it super easy for my 7 and 8 year old to make their bed. No struggle with layers and sheets. And they have super cute designs. My kids sleep in Bunk beds and this was a game changer. Thank you for always having a great attitude and all your great ideas.
I live in a 4th floor walk up building, on the top floor. It's great for views, but bad for laundry in the basement. The blue IKEA bags hold a load of laundry perfectly.:-)
My must haves from Ikea is the KALAS "kids" plates! These things are awesome microwave/dishwasher safe plate with a nice high edge. It keeps all the food on the plate and small-light enough for the kids to carry around themselves. I also started using them in my lunch when I need to heat up something that doesn't really need a tupperware bowl. The grown ups use them just as much as the kids. Bonus item: SKadis pegboard! Craft room, kitchen, garage, entryway... they are amazing just about anywhere!
This just popped up and we’d literally just come back from IKEA. Bought the rubber jar covers, didn’t even realise there was a small one, which has gone straight on the end of a cucumber. Got the plastic bathroom caddy with the suction cups which is really sturdy and stays on and the “Zip lock” bags which were great value. Love the room sets there, such great ideas for storage.
I work at IKEA and all those are great. I also like the small puck lights that are battery operated. You can put them everywhere and in anything. And their kitchen gadgets. All multi uses of the storage. Everything can be used in so many different ways. 😊
Such a good Ikea video! I've watch videos like this in the past and have never been as satisfied with the chosen topics! fabric! and the glass Tupperware with the different lids! what?! so many good things. Thank you
I only buy kitchen towels that have a hook! Didn't know IKEA had them... I keep a big bag in the garage to collect stuff to go to the thrift store. When I no longer need something I add it, and then take when it is full. 🙂
Great video!! Thanks! I have an Ikea 5 miles away & only go once every 2 years, so you've inspired me to visit ! It's HUGE and definitely a "destination" especially if you've never been. I like their kitchen/table top section and that the store in general is clean & orderly! Choose a time that's NOT real busy like weekends, it can be pretty crazy, especially in the northeast.
So much fun to watch. I'm a foster mom and I'm always looking for cool stuff for them to do .I totally forgot about the kid's area at Ikea. I'm going to take a trip there to see what I find. Thanks for sharing!
One of my favorite outings when my first was young was to grab coffee and just let him play in the kids section! They always have some toys out, and it was good for an hour or two of fun and distraction.
I buy a box of each size zipper bag every time I go to Ikea. I use those for storing everything I need to keep long term. I use the cheap quality ones from WM for disposable uses. I also get a set of the green lid plastic food saver containers too. I use them for storing EVERYTHING.
The stretchy covers for jars I put on the BOTTOM of my honey jars to stop sticky drips in my pantry. I also put them on the bottom of my metal loo brush holder to stop rust firming in the damp atmosphere.
The giant IKEA bags are great for family trips! We use one to throw all the random blankies, pillows and stuffies in and another for jackets, boots, mittens etc if it’s winter. And they’re basically water proof so they’re perfect for hauling stuff when you’re camping. Inevitably things will get dirty and/or wet and you need a big bag to toss things in.
We have had a kids table for 12 years and still use it. I tend to use the chairs instead of a step stool. IKEA bags are the best. We use them for pumpkin picking and for towels at the beach. ❤️
The overmatt silicone set is wonderful! The pink one works perfectly on the 3oz size cat food cans. Teal size is great for that half of a tomato, onion, etc. when you don't want/need to use the whole thing. The tiny white one isn't used as much for my house, but it does work well on bottles, bananas, and cucumbers. They are dishwasher safe, but I never feel like they are cleaned as well in the dishwasher. I hand wash mine, flip them inside out to look like a jellyfish/shower cap, and set them on top of some other dishes so air can flow around them. My hubby was skeptical when I brought them home, but he admits now that they are one of the most useful items I ever bought from IKEA.
This is the one item I really want to buy. I have silicone covers for dishes, but small ones for individual items of fruit and veg sounds like a great idea.
I love those big bags to transport my Cricut Maker. It fits inside so nicely and the bag is super sturdy that I don’t worry about it going through the bottom while I carry it. Thanks for showing some great products I had been wondering about!
Just an interesting FYI. The big IKEA bag the blue one and then the pride bag will hold up to 40 pounds of stuff. And they will hold about 15 boxes of cereal if you're on a run for a food pantry at your church also. They store a heck of a lot of stuff.
I use our rainbow bags most for pillows! They're the perfect size for 3 standard bed pillows, when going camping. If, as my DD is, you're concerned about the bag not closing, just fill the bag then invert another one over the top, flip upside down and carry it that way. 🙂

@@FLdancer00 good idea. Considering how I have six cats and I like to toss the bags on the floor for them to play in, and they haven't destroyed them yet, it would be perfect for laundry without it getting ripped up. I love Ikea! Their pre-made curtains are really long. I live in a late Victorian house with really high ceilings, so my window curtain drop needs to be about 3 meters. I bought some of their velvet curtains - actually a really good velvet - unpicked the seams and remade them as thick inter-lined curtains. They cost a fraction of the cost of buying them in an Interior Design store, or even just buying the velvet in a Department Store.
Also they have beautiful colors of solid pillow cases if you are a crafty person and like to paint, screen print, etc but don’t want to sew your own, Ikea has you covered.
Great finds! We used about two dozen of the giant blue blags last time we moved. They were indispensable for hauling all that awkward stuff that you don't want to waste a box on. They hold a lot of weight. ~ Lisa
I bought two, use them as laundry basket. I live on the third floor and laundry is in the basement. They fold up when I’m not using them which is great because I’ve got a decorative hamper for dirty clothes in my room.
I always use mine for clothes whether it be dirty laundry, clean items, transporting them when moving house etc etc. I have two mini ones, one of which I use for underwear in my caravan and the other for things like electronic leads, adapters and chargers. (I want some more, but IKEA haven't had those for a while 🙁)
Same! I have so many because they’re great for so many different things and fold up nice and neat to store when not in use. Moving, laundry, Costco, etc. Love love love them.
How did I not know about the fabric cutting station??? I have to watch this video again. There were so many awesome things! It was great to see the Kevin Bacon shirt. I've always been a big fan of his work. My husband worked on a project with his band a few years and I got to meet him. He has "kids" the same age as ours so it was interesting talking about regular people things. I never miss your videos. Happy August!
The large plastic bags can be washed and re-used, several times. I use them for freezing cooked chicken, or flat bread, or roasted vegetables. Works really well.
I was at IKEA last week - guess I need to go back. The IKEA bags were ideal for moving our son during his college years. They worked for bringing dirty laundry home or simply cramming stuff in to move at the end of the semester.
Omg I LOVE the rainbow tote bag! I've actually never been to an Ikea (there aren't any in my area) but I love seeing all the knick-knacks. I'd definitely put the USB port to good use!
I've got one of those rainbow bags, it is definitely awesome! I agree about the usb port, I think I'll be getting one next time I go to IKEA! Ps, how far away is your nearest IKEA? It's definitely worth a visit, but allow plenty of time! I don't have any near me but I do make a special trip every so often
Thanks Kallie, as always an informative video. IKEA is a great store definitely worth taking a trip there. It’s a nice place to walk around and look at everything. Sometimes you come across some cool and different things that are worth getting.
Nice! Im going to IKEA next week, this gave me a better idea of what to look for. I havent seen the pet-section before!! Need to check it out for my cat
Ikea bedding is my favorite. They rotate their patters and they just get softer and softer. I splurged on the hand embroidered duvet set and I couldn't be happier
I love the way you explain stuff you sound just like me once I get a name stuck in my head such as your zip lock bags anything the same gets called it. Good tips 😊
Thank you so much for the Towel Holder thing. I was actually looking for something that I don't need to drill into the wall. Awesome! Sometimes problems do solve themselves ☺
Thank you for this video. I'm planning on a redo of my kitchen and the set of suction cups would really help. We don't have an IKEA here, but there is a shipping company that will bring things to us.
I never thought my sciatica could be a good thing. Haven't been to my favorite store in so long, I cannot walk that far, I have to see everything! It has saved me so much money! 🤣 They have the best, cutest stuff ever! This was a great video sweetie, but it sure does temp me! 🤣
I believe I would need to have 2 or 3 days to cover everything in that store. We don’t have an IKEA close so I look online. Afraid to order anything as I have read poor reviews about purchasing items online. This was great to see it in the actual store. Thank you.
I’ve ordered a couple times online and had a good experience. I live in an apartment building and they come all the way up with stuff if you’re getting large items. I bought a bunk bed, mattresses, sheets, pillows, some toys, carpets, etc.
8:36 The Swedish alphabet has 3 extra letters, Å Ä and Ö. Those aren't A:s and O, but different letters. Å is pronounced similar to Au (like in Australia) Ä is pronounced similar to Ai (like in Air) Ö is pronounced similar to Ea (like in Earn), or U (like in Urn). So "Lörby" would be pronounced similar to the beginning of "learn"..."Learby". (Lörby is a small village in southern Sweden. A lot of IKEA products are named after places in Scandinavia)
I always buy rolls and bread in paper bags, which makes them dry faster. So I keep those zip plastic bags in a drawer where I keep my bread and I can reuse them over and over again cutting on my plastic use :) also, they are great for freezing fruit and veggies!

Got the plastic bathroom caddy with the suction cups which is really sturdy and stays on and the “Zip lock” bags which were great value. Love the room sets there, such great ideas for storage.
Do you know if it's made of food-safe silicone?
@@FourJaysFour I’m assuming so they, are BPA (Bisphenol A) free if that helps.
I totally agree on the IKEA shopping bag review. Everyone in my family comes and ends up needing a bag and keeps it because they love it so much!
Thank you
Also with the couch edge drink holder I also use it as lap top holder when I’m on the couch or in bed 👍🏻
I am all about Ikea's lingonberry and elder flower jellies and concentrates and their frozen salmon.
I only buy kitchen towels that have a hook! Didn't know IKEA had them...
I keep a big bag in the garage to collect stuff to go to the thrift store. When I no longer need something I add it, and then take when it is full. 🙂
Yes, to Kevin Bacon. And I also loved Flashdance. When the Welder Chick did that grunge dance to audition for the school. So motivating.
I did not know ikea had fabric. I also love the bowls with interchanging lids.
Lucky you having one so close!
The vegetable set is precious!
very helpful. those make great beach or pool bags- sand doesn't stick and doesn't matter if it gets wet
Great video! Loved the rundown on Ikea items. That kids table is the bomb! I love ours
YES KALIE! all food storage containers are Tupperwere an YES they are all ziplocs. I am so glad Im not the only one LOL!
So much fun to watch. I'm a foster mom and I'm always looking for cool stuff for them to do .I totally forgot about the kid's area at Ikea. I'm going to take a trip there to see what I find. Thanks for sharing!
Good for you…..God bless you:) 🙏
One of my favorite outings when my first was young was to grab coffee and just let him play in the kids section! They always have some toys out, and it was good for an hour or two of fun and distraction.
@@nicelizreu1 I did this too when I was a new mom. My children thought it was an official play area 😅
Same, hahaha
I buy a box of each size zipper bag every time I go to Ikea. I use those for storing everything I need to keep long term. I use the cheap quality ones from WM for disposable uses. I also get a set of the green lid plastic food saver containers too. I use them for storing EVERYTHING.
I have stuffed Hand puppets that my brother gave my kids over 24 years ago and a pop up puppet theatre m there loved them .
The stretchy covers for jars I put on the BOTTOM of my honey jars to stop sticky drips in my pantry. I also put them on the bottom of my metal loo brush holder to stop rust firming in the damp atmosphere.
That was fun. Most Ikea videos are kind of boring but this was fun! Thanks.
I love mine so much. Perfect for cat food tins and super easy to clean.
You got a thumbs up by second 17. I still listen to Footloose ALL the time, especially when I'm choring in the kitchen.
I use mine to carry laundry to the laundry mat. It hasn't ripped or torn on me yet.
@@jenstark9452 oh my..u are just too smart for my own good. Ha ha thx. It's strange how the obvious can be inobvious at times. And then someone says, "oh by the way…." And then you read it and it's so smart. So thank you....
@@FLdancer00 good idea. Considering how I have six cats and I like to toss the bags on the floor for them to play in, and they haven't destroyed them yet, it would be perfect for laundry without it getting ripped up. Great idea. Thx.
I see Fl in your screen name. Would you happen to be a Florida person? I'm Central Florida gal. . Whatever that means. But that's where I am now anyway. So peace and blessings to you. Speaking only for myself I'm cold. But no one asked. Gail in Central Florida Friday, January 28, 2022. And I just covered some of the plants because I read we're going to have a little bit of colder freeze-type weather. I am not a yard person. I am not that AR. Ha ha. So I didn't cover any of my weeds with tarp. Just let it freeze. As long as it's green I don't care I don't care if it's a weed or grass
@@gailremp8389 Yep, born & raised in Orlando. Hi Gail! 👋
No pun intended 😉
Thank you for all your great vlogs and the awesome information you share. Love watching you
The stretchy things can cover sliced side of onion, cucumber etc
Great finds! We used about two dozen of the giant blue blags last time we moved. They were indispensable for hauling all that awkward stuff that you don't want to waste a box on. They hold a lot of weight. ~ Lisa
I bought two, use them as laundry basket. I live on the third floor and laundry is in the basement. They fold up when I’m not using them which is great because I’ve got a decorative hamper for dirty clothes in my room.
L B
That is such a great idea!
I always use mine for clothes whether it be dirty laundry, clean items, transporting them when moving house etc etc. I have two mini ones, one of which I use for underwear in my caravan and the other for things like electronic leads, adapters and chargers. (I want some more, but IKEA haven't had those for a while 🙁)
@@Teaspoon04 Same here!
And I need more cloth napkins! Great idea!
I used to save extra/seasonal pillow covers inside the pillow cover of a pillow currently being used. It’s makes pillow cover changes easier.
I gave never been in an IKEA store. We don't have one near by. However, this was a fun video to watch.
I take my IKEA tote to the pool!! 😁 Easy way to carry all the towels, toys, sunscreen & floaties.
Awesome!! Thank you, I was planning on making a trip to IKEA soon!!! I'm definitely going to get a few of the things you mentioned.
The reusable shopping bags are the best! I use them all the time!
This is a very informative and helpful video! This is my first time watching and I am subscribed!
I'm just discovering you! YOU are SO FUN! And make listening SO EASY! PLUS, the 'finds' are fun, too! Thanks! Paula/Seattle!
Those little wooden bowls are what my kids use to keep their little toys in! They also use them with play food, and whatever! They’re the best!
It’s Tupperware, ziploc bags, Kleenex, and q-tips.
Yep! We are all guilty!
YES!!
If not for brand names, most people would say, "What are you talking about?" and "You mean Q-tips? Why didn't you just say 'Q-tips'??" 🤣
Yes!!!
You forgot Vaseline and Frigidaire ....though the latter might be age sensitive😄
And IKEA has great food, too. Lingonberry jam! Yum! I’d love for you to do another video with their products!
First time watching, loved your video! Glad you decided to film despite the noise 😂 Subscribed!!
Ikea is one of my favorite places to shop you absolutely never know what you're going to find. So many functional things
IKEA'S like a box o' chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get
YES!! its Tupperware ziplog and coke always lol u go girl love ur channel and the fact u give up ur time to help others!!!
So true. And the way they put different rooms together, I always come away with lots of photographs of ideas to think about in my own house!
Those wooden bowls would be great on your dresser , vanity , bathroom as a catch all .
Nice! Im going to IKEA next week, this gave me a better idea of what to look for. I havent seen the pet-section before!! Need to check it out for my cat
That was an awesome video Kellie. Thanks for keeping your eyes open and looking for these little gems. I appreciate your efforts!
Ikea bedding is my favorite. They rotate their patters and they just get softer and softer. I splurged on the hand embroidered duvet set and I couldn't be happier
pillow cases are awesome as stuffy bins for kids, if you get the bigger sizes the kids can use them as floor cushions
Wow, the charger! Need to look for it on my next trip. Thanks!
I knew about these items I love the plastic baggies & the reusable bags. I'm blessed too because my son works at IKEA.
I am a big IKEA fan and go there all the time and even I didn’t know about some of these! Thanks!
What is the name of the little silicone seals? I don’t have ikea in my area, but wanted to see if I could order them online.
I love the way you explain stuff you sound just like me once I get a name stuck in my head such as your zip lock bags anything the same gets called it. Good tips 😊
Your baby is ADORABLE! thanks for tips! some great stocking stuffers!
I really like those squishy bowl covers, the pillow covers (great price!), the re-sealable storage bags, and the door mats. Super cute!
I bought an American Girl size doll bed at Ikea for only $15.00! Real wood, and so sturdy. Can't beat that.
You made this so fun and I loved the cameo of your adorable shopping buddy too. didn't want it to end 🙁
Thank you so much for the Towel Holder thing. I was actually looking for something that I don't need to drill into the wall. Awesome! Sometimes problems do solve themselves ☺
I wish we had an IKEA close by. I’d be in there all day.
Another tip for pillows... Pillow forms can be pricey. Buy pillows on clearance (regardless of the color) and then put a new cover on.
Great video!! Thank you. You just call the plastics whatever you want, we all know what you mean.
8:36 The Swedish alphabet has 3 extra letters, Å Ä and Ö. Those aren't A:s and O, but different letters.
Å is pronounced similar to Au (like in Australia)
Ä is pronounced similar to Ai (like in Air)
Ö is pronounced similar to Ea (like in Earn), or U (like in Urn).
So "Lörby" would be pronounced similar to the beginning of "learn"..."Learby". (Lörby is a small village in southern Sweden. A lot of IKEA products are named after places in Scandinavia)
Great finds. Silicone tops that go in the microwave?!?! WOW... got to get me some. Loved the video. Thanks so much!
I always buy rolls and bread in paper bags, which makes them dry faster. So I keep those zip plastic bags in a drawer where I keep my bread and I can reuse them over and over again cutting on my plastic use :) also, they are great for freezing fruit and veggies!
IKEA needs to sell silicone baggies that are sustainable next!
