nice job I have a 35 and its sat for 3 years. its all bound up. gonna have to take it apart. obviously it never was greased from the factory. even with sealed bearings it should be coated to protect from the salt.
Thanks and thanks for watching! You might be pleasantly surprised when you get in there. Might just need some cleaning up to be as good as new. Then again, it could also be a horror show, with parts that need to be replaced. 🙂 Spread the word about the channel.
@@TSGReelService Hi, thanks for the video. I'm considerind to buy this reel and wondering about the drag washer replacement. I suppose there should be a possibility to drag old one away, order a new customized one and glue it to a spool? Otherwise, it's quite a big investment to buy a new spool after every couple of years...
@@serhiysemenko2027 Thanks for watching! You could try contacting Daiwa to see if they'll do it, like avet did on some of their reels. Or maybe you could try scraping the drag and glue out yourself and putting in a customized drag. Other than that, the only option provided for that part from Daiwa is a complete new spool. Maybe someone else who reads this will have some input on the matter, so keep checking.
HI! awesome video. My saltist hyperspeed reels backwards when I pull drag out quickly at anything above about 5 or so pounds, do you think that is the anti reverse bearing? also when I tighten up the drag near full it becomes immensely harder to reel.
Thanks for watching! The anti-reverse clutch and pinion bearing are likely bad. You'll need to get them replaced, but you should take your reel to your local repair shop for service to make sure nothing else is wrong with the reel.
The free spool was not free like you had it so I followed your steps now the spool has like 20lb drag on it in free spool. Spool is stiff even without the handle side being on barely rotates in the housing
Are you saying that you followed my ENTIRE video for servicing your reel, or that you had a problem with your freespool before using my tutorial, and then tried to use a portion of my video to diagnose and fix the problem?

Good i have this reel i like its handle
Yes, simple and very effective reel.
Great video, what is the grease that you are using?
Thanks for watching! I was using Penn grease.
Se puede reemplazar el balero de la tapa donde entra la barra de la palanca
I noticed the drag washer is glued onto the spool. Do you know what glue I should use to replace it? Mine is completely worn out. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Do you need to replace the drag washer?
@@TSGReelService Yes. it is glued onto the spool. I guess i will pry it off and glue a new one on. Wondering what to use.
@@thirstyowlthethird9409 Okay. The drag washer isn't sold separately. You'll need to buy a new spool.

@@TSGReelService thank you so much for the respond!!
You're welcome and no problem.
Do you wipe any grease on the drag on the spool? Thanks.
Thanks for watching! If you mean in the drag area, not always.
@@TSGReelService yes the carbon fiber drag itself.
@@thirstyowlthethird9409 I grease dry carbon fiber washers most of the time. If it's already greased, then it depends on the condition. Thanks.
For some reason my spool is so hard to turn
Thanks for checking out the video. Is this before or after you serviced the reel yourself? Did you follow this video or wing it?
