What ultrasonic do you use? Also do you have any experience with corrosion x grease?
Thanks for checking out the video. Check out the video description for help. The CX grease is a bit too sticky for my taste, but it doesn't mean I would never use it. List of greases I prefer to use.... Penn, Cal's, Shimano. Spread the word about the channel.

Hey brother I saw that you also worked on the Penn wrath 5000, would you know if the ball bearing in the wrath 5000 would fit in the battle 6000? I took my battle out one trip, rinsed it off I think with too much water and it squeaks now when I crank it and I the only thing I think it can be is the bearing.
Not much, brother. Happy to answer, but not specific info for your question, though. Which Battle (i, ii, iii, etc), which wrath (i, ii)? Which bearing? Pinion, right/left side bearing, etc.
Hey there. Thanks for your video, very informative. I bought a second hand Saragosa 10000F. (A hand down from original user, so I can't speak to him). When reeling, the spool doesn't move up/down. What could be wrong? And do you use any SW40 lubricant on your reels? Thank you. Paul- South Africa
Hey Paul. Thanks! Good description of your specific reel and issue. Likely the pawl is the issue. You can use my community page for help sourcing it, if you need. Regarding the SW40, not sure what that is, sorry. Feel free to check the video description for items I use and places to get them. Spread the word about the channel. Barry
It appears that the same Shimano engineers that got the company sued for bicycle crank sets breaking and injuring hundreds of riders, have been moved over to the fishing reel group. Anything to save a gram of weight.

Great video! You have much confidence. With your experience what do you think is the best quality baitfeeder type reel as far as gears, bearings, drag washers, & overall build go? The Shimano Baitfeeder OC & D models, Daiwa Free Swimmer, Daiwa Emcast Bite n Run, or the Penn Live Liner reels? Which ones are easier to completely tear down and reassemble?
Thanks! The D's and OC's are pretty straightforward. I've never had an opportunity to work on the Daiwas you mentioned. Spread the word about the channel.
Hi. Great content, love the way you comment whilst doing these videos. Do you have access to accurate parts? i am trying to find a gear shaft for a Boss Magnun 665H, part B-982. Be great if you had one to sell

Hi I’m not sure you can assist or not but I think my rear drag is broken. A boat took off with my ssvi8500ll line at full speed in LL mode and not every time the reel is place in LL mode the line just free fall from the reel. So I’m guessing it’s either rear drag or the cam gear. First time pen owner.
Thanks for reaching out. I don't have a VI live liner video up to reference you to, so you can either take it to your local repair shop for help, or if you feel comfortable going into the reel yourself, you can certainly check those two areas. You can check the teeth and spring on the cam gear, the rear drag stack and the tension screw under the rear drag cap. Let me know how it goes.
I finally found out where that black washer came from lol
Not sure what you're referring to (sorry), but congrats!
Thank you for the detailed video. My bail pops off from the roller end on the bail wire assembly. I noticed a notch on the end but don’t see where or how it is suppose to catch onto anything. Any tips?
Thanks! What time in the video are you referring to?
@@TSGReelService there isn’t a part in the video where it showcases it but was curious to know if you had any idea
@@van3651 Thanks for clarifying. I think I now understand what you're referring to. You're saying the bail wire keeps popping out of the line roller support base, opposite the bail arm. The notch in the bail wire doesn't catch on to anything.... it's likely from the cutting and bonding process. You'll likely need a new bail wire. However, you can sometimes glue it back in the hole using JB Weld, or with an actual welder (if you have one those)... just be careful not leave any burring that your line can catch on and break. If that's not your issue, post a video of your problem on your channel and then reply here with an "X" so I can view it. DO NOT include your channel or video link.
@@TSGReelService thanks for the advice! Yeah I was thinking it was a lost cause and would just need a new bail wire. Luckily they aren’t too expensive. Appreciate the prompt responses!
@@van3651 No worries.
You put oil on a sealed bearing?why didnt you open the bearing then oil it? Im not being rude at all, youre doing a good job,im just curious
Thanks for watching, the love and your question. Some bearings I open (see ruclips.net/video/GI02FQMq9Nk/видео.html), but didn't feel these needed that, as it didn't feel or sound like it was necessary. Even "sealed" bearings aren't truly sealed.... the oil gets in there. Hope that helps clarify. Thanks again. Spread the word about the channel.
Nice video. Sometimes after I do a service on these type of reels the lash/space in the reel allows the gears to not be as tight as they should be causing binding. Im not sure if its because it needs a spacer under bearing ..... or a specific torque ....... or other ... when placing back on the main cover. Any ideas ? Makes the handle hard to turn until balanced properly to create the correct clearance and mesh of gears.
Thanks for checking out the video. Yes, you're right (partially in the torque department) and regarding the occasional play in the gearing after service some of the times. However, the locking up you're referring to is usually from the main gear pressed to hard against the pinion, causing it to stick when the handle is cranked. In these uncommon situations, you'll need to play with the number of shims you place on the MG until you get it to feel "right". Sometimes, a shim on the other side does help, but usually, you're just adjusting the left side. If the main gear is too worn, the 'misalignment' of the 'worn' parts on the MG/PG interaction will also cause this binding issue upon reassembly. There are some other possible reasons, but I hope this helps get you on the right track. You'll see in some of my videos, I discus this issue during the reassembly process. Spread the word about the channel.
@@TSGReelService thx sir. Where do you get the shims ? Great info. 👍 I have about 10 different reels I cycle through .... as I'm always dropping them in the water 💧
@@TSGReelService thx- Where do you get the shimms.
@@JohnFak-u8n Check my community page for parts help.
Thank you much great video! Very detailed and clear presentation👍
You're welcome and thanks for watching! Spread the word about the channel.
It is normal that the Penn Battle 5000, due to its size, generates some slight noise or vibration at the junction of the crown and the pinion.
Vibration relates to rotor balance and/or shaft issues. Regarding the noise, it depends on how severe it is. You'd have to make a video showing what you're experiencing and posting it to your channel so I can see it. Bear in mind, most all reels are much nosier in the quiet of your home than when out in the "field".... this especially becomes more noticeable after you service it also.... not because it actually is nosier, but usually because you never really paid attention to the sounds your reel made before that. Spread the word about the channel.
@@TSGReelService Thank you very much for the information, I appreciate it very much, it is a friend's reel that is brand new and after a maintenance service he notices these things and I clarified that it is normal due to the friction between the crown and the pinion.
@@Dkr_fishingCR You're welcome and no worries. It's not necessarily that.... more of a human nature sort of thing to "all of a sudden" notice certain things after something has taken place, but never noticed it before, even if it were already there to begin with. However that doesn't mean something isn't wrong.... maybe he can take it to someone else to find out or compare.
It was a long time since I last modified a 302 with a MP, PUM, Crosswind, HT 100 drag and I got stuck getting the anti reverse setup figured out if it wasn’t for your video. I do like and prefer these to 706z worm gears and they are just solid and straightforward decades later.
Happy to hear the video helped, Matt! Both track systems have their advantages and drawbacks, but totally get what you mean regarding durability. Spread the word about the channel. Barry
Hi used your video to service my battle 3 8000. When regreasing my main gear, some parts fell off that I didn't notice. I searched the floor and found 3 shims. Now my parts list diagram says it's part #8a. One shim. So I'm confused. Not sure if they're for other parts. Help would be appreciated thanks.

Hey, I have this same reel and you seem like quite the expert 😂. My drag isn’t as light as it was when I got it and it doesn’t click when drag gets taken out. Where should I be looking to fix the issue and could you put time stamps to the video so I know what you’re talking about? Thanks
Thanks for checking out the video. It sounds like you've never had the reel serviced before. Check out the spool, drags and shaft. The video is a resource; take the time to search through it. If you're too busy or not inclined to taking the time to do the work yourself, try taking the reel to your local tackle/repair shop for assistance. All the best with it. Spread the word about the channel.
You did a great job bringing that AR back to life. I once soaked a DAM Quick SLS reel for two weeks in WD40 to get an AR shaft loose and it still would not budge at all. I did the same with a Ryobi Powerful No. 4 reel and got it loose and working fine. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Great video on a nice looking BG90. Now if you can balance the rotor wobble I want to see that! LOL. - Chris
🙂 see my last response to you regarding the rotor wobble. Thanks regarding the A/R! Soaking doesn't always work, but there are other ways that could work, though they come with risks.... heat, tools, etc.
Did you notice any front end wobble in this BG90? Great video by the way!
Thanks for checking out the video. They're not the most balanced reels out there, so a little wobble is expected sometimes. Spread the word about the channel.
