This wasn't translated over from the original japanese interview, but Yamamura explicity states there will be no co-op for story mode, saying they're focusing on crafting a rich experience only possible in singleplayer, so high hopes for that. Maybe a bit of a letdown for some people but honestly I'm excited
Aw. I was hoping we'd at least get some bonus "challenge missions" where you can partner up with someone, but the missions are really hard. But I'm glad the game is going to be single-player focused.
I like the idea of a focused single player, but I was really hoping to be able to play missions in co-op with a friend, like in For Answer and Verdict Day. I've never been into the PvP all that much. Even just some unique co-op missions like Another Age had would be nice.
i loved how dynamic the missions were, you had betrayals happaning in the middle of the mission, or instead of doing what was planned ahead, the whole story does a 180 and you just have to get the fuck out there, shooting your way to the exit, it was really well done in AC3.
@@e.x.watson9997 depends on your difficulty. On lower levels missions generally play out as expected. On hard however allies will betray you, you'll be ambushed part way through missions by enemy ACs and VOBs will malfunction and detonate way too early so you essentially have to walk up to arms forts making you sitting duck for any artilerry and/or missiles.
@@e.x.watson9997 well it blew my mind back then, so technically you are right but it was groundbreaking in terms of the mission structure of many games that shit like that just happans while you were planning and preparing for a completely different scenario. And i dont remember wich armored core it was, but one of them had i beleive 7 different endings and the mission outcome sometimes came down to if an npc survived or not.
I always loved how hard mode was "It's the same mission, but something's gone wrong" like the Vanguard Overboost crapping out half way to Motherwill or having to take the entire mission solo.
Yeah I saw a let's play where a comment described the hard mode being Murphys Law version of FA since Hard Mode is basically what could go wrong in this mission
I hope they really focus on mission variety, one of my favorite things about the older games is that they never felt repetitive, they really explored all the possible design space for the missions.
I forgot to mention that I wanted 4th generations minimalistic lock on style. Thanks for watching! Vacation time! Also I want the mail system to return. And hidden parts.
I'm pretty sure they'll take elements from both 4 and 5. I hope the PvP will be good, it'd be nice if they implement some good environmental destruction as well.
I think it's absolutely great that FromSoft understands their IP and what old armored core fans want from it. As someone who only started playing since the souls games, I'm honestly glad that they won't have any major components from souls in armored core. They understand the core identity of their game and know that changing it will ruin what it is. I am interested to see how they will implement a decade's worth of souls knowledge into armored core though. I'm also glad that mecha games are making a return in the AAA gaming industry. While it may be a one off from FromSoft, I doubt other companies won't try to copy the success of FromSoft. We've seen the lack of interest in the mecha genre since forever, for the original armored core games, for the rocky start of warframe, and even the failure of titanfall 2. Hopefully this creates more mecha games.
The story mode being focused on single player mode and not co-op is very good actually. AC V/VD had so many unfair and unbalanced missions because they weren't made for single player only
I would love to see HD models for 4A White Glint and Noblesse Oblige in Armored Core 6. For multiplayer, I'd love to see a 4-6 member team with a small campaign, separate from the story, that includes massive boss enemies. Can you imagine teaming up with your friends to fight against an Arms Fort like Spirit of Motherwill or Answerer? Missions will be nuts!
Yea that was ACV and it was actually really cool. The issue is that it came out at the wrong time and it needed some work to allow more players to actually get involved in it. Regardless it was an awesome addition to the game that would be cool if it made a comeback with some limited time events for some special gear or something.
@@JupiterxBlues yeah. I have and played ACV and Verdict Day, but I was playing alone. None of my friends had the game at the time, so I didn't get to take advantage of the features.
I think you're right with a dynamic give-and-take. If you want speed, you sacrifice armor, Flight at the cost of energy weapons mebe? Quickboost with a generator guage/overheat mechanic, Fire heavy weapons without bracing at the cost of multi-lock missile fcs. Become Human+ but get an alternate ending? Finding a balance between useless and OP, and avoiding a multiplayer "Meta" will be the biggest problem. Jumping in a 4v4 where everyone has a karasawa and a moonlight ugg.. But I have faith that this is all being taken into consideration and this will be the best AC game ever.
I think the only time the give and take with armor/speed in AC that was ignored was from 4A with that AC you fight at the end, absolutely hulking armor and is about 10 times faster boost dodging than white glint, otherwise they have all been fairly balanced in that respect
The main thing I'm hoping for is larger and/or longer missions than the older games. Especially in gen 4, it felt like the upper ceiling for mission time was 5 minutes or so, and many missions could be completed in less than 1 minute even on a first NG playthrough, so I'd love to see some longer and more complex missions, where you really get a chance to optimise your AC for the mission, rather than dropping in and killing the 4 target MTs and finishing the mission before mission controller even finishes explaining the mission.
Thats what made AC4 not as good of a game as the others. The speed was way too fast so things would happen in a flash and it was over. The gameplay was fun still but the ACs always felt like they belonged in a different game or that we were playing with cheatcodes on.
I would want them to use the trainable AI from AC3 to create a final boss to fight you using the parts you used the most over the course of the campaign.
Would be awesome if you could invade on certain pvp missions by taking a contract with an opposing corporation. I'd also love to see stuff like the energy exceed thing where you could get infinite energy for 30 seconds and be punished with a massive recharge after
That infinite energy came in clutch sometimes Edit: saved me a couple times when I'd fall to far off the map and didnt have enough energy to fly back up
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 Steam Game description says "players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions" you are welcome Enjoy your vacation
I think they will do a sortie storytelling rather than vague open world interpretation. Then again, the director won't be Miyazaki (since he already did AC4 and AC4A). Sekiro was quite a close to Miyazaki's Bloodborne so I think it will be that, if they do not do an "open world" I'd say that it would be a shame if they do the same thing as the traditional AC game. I do want it to be open exploration rather than pick and choose mission.
I am happy that almost all the AC vets want AC3 and AC4 as the main style and mechanics choice. I think mission/level design is not mentioned enough and I really hope that the majority are memorable in AC6. Stand outs are ambush in the old ruins in AC3, the night mission lit by flares in AC4, the destruction path last mission in FA. Quickboosting should be a thing but not as spammable, same with flight. Give legs a more pronounced purpose, it is either midweight biped or tank legs for me because nothing else offered anything drastically different or better. I am loving this AC interest spike even though it is still relatively small. Your vids are well done, thanks for the content.
7:50 I remember watching a video covering the battle of revived Motherwill in ACVD and someone pointed out "You know because we can't fly it's the main reason Spirit of Motherwill was only callback Arms Fort that could be done, forts like GreatWall and Answerer would require flying to combat them. "
I'd love to see UNACs return in AC6. It's was such a cool idea: build and program your own partner ac. It was, though, very complicated as it did feel like you needed a degree in computer science to understand the flow structure of the UNAC programming. Maybe if they updated it a bit to make it easier to see what the outgoing results of the combat patterns were as you modified the algorithms.
AC 5 in general had some cool ideas like that but the game tried so hard to force everyone to play online that it all fell apart. It came out the same week as Destiny lol no way it was ever gonna compete.
UNAC programming already did show you that with the pattern screen, they cant make it anymore simple except maybe have a Test area that showed its programming functioning actively ingame as you adjust parameters against a dummy ac to cause it to trigger the certain special parameters like the X distance switch to Y weapon/Fire Y weapon within X Range
@I forgot about this, found where my money was goin yes. This is what I want. its been something like 8 years since I last played so my memory's hazy. It's gonna be impossible for it to not be complicated, that's always been part of ACs charm. But to be able to see any active changes to settings in real time will help a lot.
My biggest concern about Armored Core 6 is I don't want it to be like Armored Core 5. I want flight. If it plays similarly to 4 and for answer, I'll be happy.
If this is going to be the last game within the Armored Core series. At least release AC parts and weapons DLC. And just give us recreations of very AC parts and weapons from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen of Armored Core or have a lot of hidden parts with challenging goals. If they give us that I'll be happy. I love building and customize multiple AC Units. This is something coming from an artist.😌
The invading mech idea is something I think they should have explored more in all their games. Rather than just letting people invade with their sweaty troll builds just to stomp unprepared PvE players, give them some preset part of a mission to play like the AC opponent for that mission and an invading AC that the main player is supposed to escape from, or hell maybe even as something else like a reinforcement AC that's part of the mission.
Like a reverse consort. That'd be cool. I know they said no co op but I really hope there's a disc 2 dlc with some co op missions. That'd be sick as hell.
Aside from my being pretty much indifferent to the notion of a coop mode, I agree with every single one of your points. Especially regarding Human Plus - while I see the conceptual appeal of making the back weapons more of a mechanical investment for the player, that equation never quite worked out in the past games and hell, it just makes for far more fun gameplay and more diverse builds having that option readily available. I'll add that I'll likely jump around like a giddy schoolgirl should the game feature a Nine-Ball superboss. Looking forward to the next videos! Enjoy your vacation!
I too would like this to be pretty much a love letter to the entirety of the past serious even if everything's not in on release having DLC with new features would be pretty sick
On the topic of iconic weapons and old weapon looks and even new weapons if men in the future of weapon variants or part variance like having kerosaurus not just look like the types from the old games that you work like them and have different stats like the laser ones and the kinetic ones
On the topic of mission structure and maps we all remember that armored core likes to reuse maps so all you have to do make maps like the zone from metal gear solid 5 make them large but not all zones that would be unlocked from the get-go or certain missions and have more of these maps added in DLC not paid
PS four for anyone who actually read this I love him to bring emblems back but given how edginess nowadays is how much of a bigot I can be before I get banned / canceled and then go on Twitter to whine about it makes me think they're probably not going to do it
@@kingkiller244 On the contrary, FromSoft seems to encourage being an immature ass; what else are invasions and world messages for? And I somehow doubt most players wearing a kekistan emblem will be any good, so it'll be fun to crush them :)
I admit that you are kind of right but they're probably still be a report feature though I was just love the dunk on some swastika wearing want to be's
IGN certainly got obnoxious in that interview. It was great to see that they are very much making Armored Core and not a Souls game with a mech skin, but the way IGN kept asking in the interview, "Okay so you said it's not going to be a Soulsborne game, but how much is it going to be a Soulsborne game? It makes sense for it to be a Soulsborne game, right?" got ridiculous. I'm sure they'll rate it 6/10 "not Soulsborne enough" when it releases. But I'll just be happy to have AC back after 10 years.
from what i got from one interview is that they want the essence of Armored Core what made the game so enjoyable in the first place and i mean the first iteration almost like the Original Star Wars, because in the Original AC there was magic it flowed, it had all the potential but not the resources they have today, super interested to see what it delivers
ACV emblem mechanic (basically put being able to make itasha AC), more core type options each with their own perks and cons mix in AC3 and ACV flavors (OB type, EO type, CIWS Type, Hanger type), movable battle UI elements kinda like DxM, being able to transfer X sized photos to be emblems for the people who can't "draw" and indeed Easter Egg missions can be "fun" I would like to see how "balanced" it would be to fight all AC3 gen major bosses back to back (DOVE, IBIS, Pulverizer, super Zinaida) all in the span of 1 mission
I think something that could be fun is if you could go back to previous maps between missions to scavenge parts. That would be a perfect oppurtunity for an invasion style mechanic if they wanted to go that way (dont really care if they do or not). Hell honestly even without scavenging and invasion id want to go back to previous maps just to explore. That being said when it comes to multiplayer......all i really want is coop
It better be colorful, AC4(A) lacked some color but ACV was even worse with this. The quick-boost spam in AC4 was due to each separate direction had different quick-boost cooldown rather than share the same quick-boost gauge, it should be like titanfall. The only time players would allow a LESS-FREQUENT-than-gen-4 quick-boost is when players TUNE a quick-boost stat to its maximum value which would cost a lot. For customization, include part designs from previous games maybe as a possible SKIN for the ac. Specifically iconic head-parts. Speaking of cosmetics, they better have a full color and possible seperate-part color customization as it was with the previous games and a detail-emblem system as it was with ACV and decal-mode from AC4 and have it work for EVEN FOR WEAPONS. it better not be like ACV because it was more focused on a chess-based strategy rather than a skill/equipment-based as it was with AC4 and back. They better have BIGGER Arms-Forts where players have to go DEEP INSIDE and destroy the interiors. An ARENA system, they should have it like AC4A or AC3 or LR. Speaking of arena, they better allow us to select the weather and time of day, for example select a daytime rainy city or a clear-sky nighttime city.
100% agree... man it would be cool to get different environmental elements like dust storms/nightvisionmode/heavyrain/overcast... that would be so sick
Bruh listen to the questions they're asking. They want this game to be souls like soooo so bad. As for the quick boost, I honestly like the speed from AC4A. Even if it is spammy, the reaction time was what I was there for. The speed of the weapons velocity mixed with the quick boosting was just an all time adrenaline high for me. I feel like if we put a timer on it, we will just be forced to take damage, which is boring
Exactly, plus dodge spam has basically been a thing with from soft for a long while now, so I dont they are gonna be taking that away. Plus it was overall just really fun to pull off those manuvers
Absolutely agree with you on quick boost. I've always played lightweight AC's in every game in the series and almost never go with anything else because I like the mobility and quick boost just adds to that. I find it a beautiful movement mechanic and I hope it stays in for AC6. On the topic of the interviewer wanting it to be a souls game, I got the impression that the interviewer wasn't really an AC fan but more of a FromSoft / Souls fan. Any true fan of the AC series would never ask those questions (Or if they did, they would ask it in the negative - "Its not gonna be like souls is it?")
Glad I found this channel. AC fans can barely ever find other AC fans and now we’re all answering the call. Really hoping they can cherry pick the best combat components, with balanced weaponry, big boss fights and high speed, accurate combat. And since we’ve skipped a generation hopefully we can get some great physics and environmental effects in the game. Maybe even streamlining the build system or at least make it more legible for first timers. Hell I’m even glad you like FF6 (the music) here’s to hoping even that receives some love at some point too.
It'd crazy how u say "skipped a generation" but this game is coming out on the ps4 lmfao. It's cool that'll be on ps5 but imo it should just be a current gen only game
@@jonathanasigri9487 I feel like I agree with you but Elden ring felt like such a massive and next gen game and it came out on ps4 too and in fact performance on ps4 was better than ps5 for a while till some patches rolled out. So last gen hardware will hopefully not hold this title back at all and really let it flex its muscles
I take zero issue with ACs capable of sustained flight a la ACFA. That sort of speed and altitude I've though forever was something Armored Core sorely lacked. If they tamp it down a bit, make the mechs' inertia and momentum more believable, and balance flying missions with ground based missions, that could be an excellent balance. It stands to reason that ACs, as with MTs can take various forms for vaired specializations. You wouldn't expect one with tank treads to be two miles up hacking up bombers. Meanwhile, a light and fast build on the ground can make you a glass cannon. More radical variety of scenarios will be refreshing if they blend the mechanics of previous games.
I hope they don't give quick boost a long universal cooldown. So much of the cool acrobatic stuff you can do in For Answer involves chaining those together. As much as they can manage I'd prefer this kind of thing to come down to how you build and tune the mech.
and then people forget that kings field/shadow tower games had very similar character to Patches before that :) And while i can understand AC bros not being much into KF, it makes me mad realizing that most of "soulsborne fanbase" dont give a shit of important titles that their "beloved" devs ever made. I dont even mention otogi or echo night, d'oh. At least AC bros acknowledge Evergrace for Hoshino weirdness lol.
What I want is AC6 incorporates some elements from the previous games: OB, EO, something similar to primal armor from 4 and weapon arms from 5 while having a mechanic unique to 6th gen AC. It's tradition really.
100% Agree!(with everything in the regular part) I think the "posture break" he spoke of in the interview was probably talking about the Primal Armor. I say this because in those games there was a "PA Attenuation" stat that showed how much PA was reduced per shot. So even at low attenuation a constant machine gun barrage would keep pressure on enough to break the forcefield and allow for massive damage afterwards.
Damn, took the words out my mouth, the perfect balance would be 3rd gen movement pace with qb also at your disposal, just not as all encompassing as 4th gen. I am very excited for this single player, I can almost guarantee it's going to be more dynamic than ever before, AC has already had some epic campaigns but they are going to push these bosses to the limit. I love how 3rd gen the parts in the trailer looked, peak AC right there in the trailer.
I think it would be really cool if AC6 did Human plus the same way the first games did. If you die a bunch, you get it and it strips your name. Something that would show a really good understanding of this series would be to have an in depth character creator like in Dark Souls but you NEVER actually see your character not even in menus. That would make the human plus cutscene even scarier.
Although I definitely agree with the idea that the game should be a mixture of third and fourth gen, I do think some things from V/Verdict Day would be neat to see return, such as being able to play as an operator in multiplayer. A 5 v 5 match with four ACs and one Operator per team would be pretty cool.
I know I'm a little late, but they mentioned something very important in the interview that I think you missed. When talking about the different aspects of your boosters, they said you could tune them for stuff like "acceleration, top speed, and boost height". Because they specifically named boost height I think it stands to reason that be able to gain altitude from just boosting again like in gens 1 through 4.
I would love it if it was Armored Core For Answer, with better graphics, more parts, and longer story missions. If they did that, I'd be a happy camper!
I agree with almost everything. The having a cool down associated with the boosting I think would be silly, but you are right in that something needs to be done about how easy it was in FA to quick boost infinitely. I would like timing to actually matter in regards to when you are firing weapons, in FA it felt like I would just hold down the trigger most of the time and let lock on do the rest when fighting an enemy Next.
@@Soladrin yeah, that mixed with a tweak to energy cost with boosting I think would be best. Then again with the variation they have to deal with in regards to parts (or at least I hope that they have a wide variety of parts in the game) and balancing them, you just know there is gonna be a certain combination of lightweight parts, generator, and boosters, that break the movement of the game on launch. Then again, if the movement is a combination of FA and 5/VD, we might not necessarily have to worry about such an issue.
I'd want them to have the option to pilot in first person how they had it in Silent Line. And each interior varying by the core your using then, let us customize the cockpit. Allowing us to assign colors to different weapons types on our HUD so it could be used to quick select a weapon during combat. It would also be awesome if the cockpit got visibility damaged during combat like with broken glass , fizing screens , sparks small fires smoke and red lights flashing whe your near death for example. I also agree with you that we should start with human plus I would like it if they allow us to dump weapons during combat like in AC 3 to make our AC faster once your out of ammo or if your weapon gets damaged. I pretty much agree with everything you said even down to the stock colors on weapons. Oh one more thing, I'd love there to be a co-op mode being able to do missions with friends would be amazing. Along with legendary weapons, it would be dope if we could mod and upgrade everything. Better HUD on the same head, a larger clip on a shot gun, or add a few extra missiles to your shoulder mount Maybe even let us give them a larger yield OR add a penatration perk before they explode , the possibilities are endless.
i want the nexus/nine breaker system of tunings/stat increasing come back that way we can min mad everything from turning drift radar ammo count dmg etc whatever just let us run completely wild w trying to tweek our units also the slug guns from first gen and/or linear guns from 3rd gen those were nice
We want WA-Finger to return in AC6 as it is the most iconic machine gun since AC1-AC3 series. In overall gameplay I want the best features of AC3 series, AC4 series (I like fast zooming ACs too but put a proper balance to it) and some in AC5 series (not the best among AC series, personally). If AC6 will carry over similar lore of normal AC and NEXT in its own game then they may add a feature of choosing a normal AC or NEXT with its evenly unique pros and cons just maybe like Gundam (RX-78) and regular mobile suit (Red Zaku II).
@@nightfox6738 But it does still hurt an AC though especially if you go dual Finger. In Nexus, Ninebreaker and Last Raven I used it as hanger weapon after my primary arm weapons unloaded all its ammos.
The one thing I'd like to see this game borrow from Soulsborne games is having a traversable hub area that you can walk around as your AC pilot rather than doing everything through menus. I think it'd really let you immerse yourself in the world that bit better, especially if you could go into the hangar and look at your AC from a human-scale perspective.
Ehhh, what's wrong with menus though? Means you spend less time physically running from garage to store to mission board, since it's just a few button clicks to go from one point to another, instead of backing out and having to go whatever distance to the npc-shaped menu. Walking around your giant robot could just be an expansion of ACVD's garage and photo mode, and NPC conversation could easily be done via an updated mail menu - maybe letting the player initiate DMs. Probably be less annoying too; you don't have to run around everywhere to see what everyone has to say, you just go through the inbox, and can even review previous messages in case you need to remember a plot detail.
it sounds cool from an immersion point of view but it's already a pain in the arse having to constantly switch between menus currently due to how heavy the customisation side of the game is. Having to run back and forth across a room to do that would just be a nightmare.
Well armored COre has a Similar Posture system with other games it's called Stability in the ps2 Era the more you get hit the more your AC will be Flinching to the point you can't use yer back weapons or aim properly but that only happens when you have Low stability it's also affects how yer legs will be LOnger to Recover when you drop from so much High in the sky
I have a feeling the game is already done. I'm pretty sure ac6 has been in development probably as long as elden ring. Its prolly gonna come out the most finished game in 2023 lol... hopfully I dont eat my words
AC4 and for answer were literally my favorite AC's so I gotta disagree with wanting gameplay to slow down and take away flight. That emphasis on speed really made for exhilarating gameplay and also fulfilled the power fantasy of being a badass mech pilot that can move through the battlefield in a flash
I want AC4A Movement, with AC3/SL Customization and Garage, with a cool story, multiplayer that actually works, and Open World missions. Also if it doesn't release on PC and/or the main character is a stronk wahman, I will KMS.
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 yea I hear you, its hard to remember when was the last time I was excited for a game and was willing to buy it day one. Its a shame, when a master piece like Elden Ring makes a Billion in its lifetime but monetized pieces of $hit like Fifa make 1.6B a year. Thats not even mentioning Japanese companies going woke because of Soyny. This may be the last chance for a good AC game we ever get so all my hopes are riding on this 😔
As long as it keeps the range gameplay focus with soft lock ons (as opposed to dark souls hard lock where it centers your camera on the target), it will be 90% of the way there on that alone.
My guess is quick boost and primal armor are going to be akin to overboost and orbital cores. It would be a feature some corporations, weight class, or experimental cores would have
I'm completely fine with the story mode being single player, I really do hope they bring back iconic parts because the art style they seem to be going for is that of older gen Armored Core games, heck pretty much every point you make I agree with and hope for. But, I feel there definitely could be a place to have co-op something at some point. Even if it's something as simple as going into a Zone and destroying a bunch of mechs together, or surviving an onslaught of MT's.. I did love fighting the arms forts like you mentioned, or even those surprisingly adrenaline inducing bosses of the older gen games. It can be a separate experience, and if need be I wouldn't mind paying a little extra just to have it, and it's not just because us Armored Core fans are kind of starved these days but I believe in the capable hands of the development team at FromSoftware.
Infinite flight was possible in gen 2-3 based on your build. That at least took effort though. Coop: I would like coop based missions like the way it was done in daemon X machina. Story: should be single player only. As much as I like the aspect of hiring other players it would be difficult to implement. There's no down leveling in armored core. It's all about build and I can see several problems with hiring players. Like someone so built they can do the mission or boss for you. Invasions: could be cool but only way I see that working is the same way story coop could. Letting a player take over for the AI of preset story mechs/ hired Allie AC. Multiplayer: I hope they all in. Give us 1v1, 2v2, 4v4, hell maybe make objective based missions where players have opposing missions that gives a little pve in with the pvp. There is a lot that can be done with multiplayer including the 1-4 v massive boss like daemon X machina.
I remember playing armored core at a friend's house. Man did I really enjoy the game but I was to to young and impatient to understand it. Can't wait for VI. Wish I could go back and play the others legitimately. Alas
I think the mentioned "aggression" mechanic is the original heat system. If overheated due to high damage taken too quickly, your unit will essentially be "Poisoned" and your AC starts losing Life (AP) at a rapid pace.
I agree with everything. I really dont want to see the need to jump on the ledges of structures like AC5. But what I really want to see is that the missions have a hard mode like AC4 and AC4A which is not merely making the enemies tankier or one weaker but adding extra elements to the mission to make it harder. Also the FRS points used to tune your AC is also nice. This is a more very unlikely thing I want but I would like to have an AI controlled AC that you could adjust its behavior like Master of Arena and have it join you in missions after to complete them once at least.
Only issue is I feel frs tuning points gatekept the multiplayer. I tried to help some new people get into FA multiplayer and when I told them they have to grind more frs points they quit.
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 You have a good point there, getting the FRS was quite grindy to obtain from S ranking missions. Still to unlock weapons and parts one still had to play the game for quite a bit. I'm not expert in AC4 and ACFA multiplayer but to me unless you played with friends my experience felt quite endgame-ish.
I dont mind if parts from old gen dont return, but I do hope they have 'spiritual successors' that do them justice and look the part. We already saw in the trailer the AC that gets pile bunked has a head that looks very similar to the classic "EYE" head thats appeared in most of the games in one form or another. (REDEYE in 1st gen, EYE in 3rd gen, etc.) I really hope we get something like the WASP head, the "slit visor with sensor on the forehead" type head have always been my favorites in each game they've appeared in (Leos Klein's AC, WASP, the QUEEN head part, etc.)
It'd be cool if they made bosses more like in the Soulsborne games, meaning cool intro cutscenes and boss-stage mechanics as the battle goes on. In the old games you'd get a short cutscene of the enemy AC appearing in the field and then the whole battle would be you shooting at a faraway dot that's the boss xD
Wish list: - Branching paths for equipment unlocks, not unlike Ace combat 5 and monster hunter. - Mission variability, unknown enemies that change every time you do the same mission. A brigade of tanks, two or more nexts? Enemies that outmatch you so you have to run away and survive? - Energy bar that brings back energy conservation. Skidding costs energy, dodging/jinking costs more energy through successive uses. Near unlimited flying should only be able to be done on light nexts. - Specialisation into skidding, jinking or flying for less energy consumption and performance. - Shields/primal armour damage energy bar and decrease damage taken but is percentage based. If your at 20% bar after successive jinking and then get hit hard your primal wont save you, it's going to hurt. - Shields have a higher resist for damage and cost less energy when they are hit giving them purpose. Sword and board builds are once again viable. - (Controversial) Locational damage and part hit points, hits to arms decrease long range accuracy, hits to head make the HUD fuzzy, hits to the legs decrease mobility etc. Heavy nexts don't have to worry as much, lights do but thanks to their high energy bar and mobility catching them is very difficult but when you do, you're rewarded so you aren't having this boring attritional battle. Regardless, I'm so fucking keen for this game. Ten years boys. Ten whole god damn years, it will be worth the wait, I'm sure.
Eo cores were great, but the problem is they're almost objectively better because it's higher DPS. Not only that, but the energy EOs had regenerating ammo and were an obvious choice over solid shell EOs. So you were left with like 3 cores. That's a killer for build diversity. I think all Fromsoft games need tons of weird and niche weapons which aren't necessarily good. There should be dozens of viable builds, including ones that are just bizarre to use or face.
I very much like the idea of it being somewhere between 3 and 4 game play. I don't need the limitless flight of For Answer, but I really disliked having to climb buildings in ACV/Verdict Day. If I can push a button to lift off the ground in some capacity, I'll be happy.
very much agree with everything you said. i do hope tho we get some bigger maps so in missions we can explore them or revisit them later on to explore a bit to get some parts. sadly the way he talked about the singleplayer and multiplayer makes it sound no coop but who knows, fromsoftware really enjoyed their multiplayer aspect so i pray for it since i do have a bunch of friends that wanna check this armored core out and never played one before. also a way to bring back endless flying without hurting the game is by having the endless flying tied to certain missions, kinda like how it worked with starfox. in one missions you are on rails and in others its free roam. they could do something like that for endless flying by suplying a fly unit. i like flying but ever since i played deamin ex machina i fucking hate flying in mech games because every time i had to leave the ground it lost any good feeling.
I think if there was some type of lighter Core like how there were ob/oe cores in 3rd gen, that could stay in flight longer could be more of interesting idea.
Pretty much sums up what most of what we want too. I would be asking too much but I few things I would like to add are - cameo bosses (or acs resemblances) like nineball, white glint, etc -raid bosses (acv or verdict day spirit of the motherwill) -Tuning (so "fashion core" can be a bit easier xD) I believe "Cascade range(LR's cover AC)" also used the Python. It was a letdown using the weapon compared to the cinematic. If Zinaida's Python were added, it should be slightly modified to have a few tweaks whether damage, firerate, reload speed/downtime, etc.
I'm not sure if it was like this in other games but assuming corporations still run everything; I think it would be cool if you did missions for certain groups that you got access to their specific weapons and AC parts and maybe vice versa if you screw over one corp you lose access to their parts. I always kind of found it weird that like, I take a mission to sabotage Group X but then I'm buying parts from them.
-Drop parts that you or someone else can pickup. -Destruction of body parts (Head -no radar, harder to lock; Arm-no weapon (if it’s a weapon arm, then lose function and half the ammo rounding up); Legs-mobility halved, landing from a jump takes longer to recover from). -Dual wielding weapons that have the same stats (not difficult). -LS-99 MOONLIGHT. #yesplease
I'm sure just like in the past multiplayer will be best experience AFTER completing the story mode maybe even after going through and earning higher ranks in missions to obtain more gear to customize with in multiplayer modes
"Is it gonna be like sekiro? It's going to be like sekiro, right? What inspiration will it be taking from sekiro and soulsborne? Soulslike? Hm? Dark souls???" Like omg pls let armored core be its own thing. I'm glad we have some direct confirmation it won't be drawing from the souls series.
Most of your thoughts echo my own - landing somewhere between LR and 4A really is the sweet spot. One of my biggest hopes (and the trailer shows this might be the case) is that we'll have cleaner, less over-designed parts in this game as that was a gripe of mine with 4A. If I could remember what any parts looked like in 5 I'd mention it, but I honestly don't XD
The speed from last raven with a combination of the huds from 4A&VD would be the best imo. I think having all the information be on the screen like 4A with the circle from 5 as a lock on box would be good. The circle wouldn't be in your face as much since it won't have all the information on it like in 5. I hope they bring back ultimate weapons and orbital cores both really fun and cool. I also hope they make it where you can actually use the gun sticking our of the chest on that one core.
@@inixi8ocelot I didn't know that's pretty cool. There's multiple cores with a gun sticking out so it would be cool to see one of them shoot down missiles and the other be a machine gun or something.
I completely agree with most of what you say in the video except adding rarity to weapons, yeah it would be cool to equip an iconic weapon on one of our ACs but thats not what Armored Core is about, it just dosent feel right to start adding rarity status to weapons Also I want to have a rival on Armored Core VI like we had in LR, I really liked Zinaida and if they could mix something up with Nine Ball that would be so awesome Oh and also multiple arena types like we had in MoA disc 2
My personal wishlist: *Gameplay that handles much like Last Raven, including flight. *Parts that feel unique to use. *Storylines that go beyond working as a mercenary (I loved how much more immersive Project Phantasma was, even if it had some missteps in telling the story). *A wider variety of multiplayer modes, like capture the flag or king of the hill. Things I definitely Do Not Want: *Gameplay like Armored Core 5. As a series veteran, I found it unplayable. *Unreliable narrators, breadcrumb storytelling and ludo narratives from Elden Soulsborne. Please let us experience a complete story through playing the game, not through item descriptions and theory-laden wikis.
This is later down the line but I would like longterm DLC maybe like a year after or a couple months after we'll get DLC that focuses on the multiplayer/arena /Clan aspects. Though I do want to see some of that at launch I don't expect to see a lot of it at launch. So focusing on multiplayer/clan system etc at a later date would be fine. I also hope that there's some form of open worldness. I think levels should come first but I wouldn't mind bigger levels with more things going on in them. It's not open world but the levels would be big enough and varied enough to have story telling in them. Just because the games not open world doesn't mean the levels don't have to be bigger and feature exploration. In that sense it's not an open world but there would be more opportunities. To have minor sidequest during objectives by having more spaces where enemies could be hiding(secret bosses)
I feel the multiplayer and single player are just gonna have separate balancing. Just makes more sense that way you can have all the OP stuff in the story mode and the multiplayer can just leave all that stuff out so it can be balanced more easily.
As far as the stamina bar goes that you mentioned in this video, it would be more geared towards how armored core four and four answer was. There is a drain for prolonged use, but there was ways to combat it with certain parts that you would be able to unlock, as well as controlling your trigger button while maintaining sustained flight just look at some old armored core four and four answer videos you’ll see what I’m talking about.
This wasn't translated over from the original japanese interview, but Yamamura explicity states there will be no co-op for story mode, saying they're focusing on crafting a rich experience only possible in singleplayer, so high hopes for that. Maybe a bit of a letdown for some people but honestly I'm excited
Darn, was actually really excited to do some missions with my fiancé. I liked the partner system from For Answer TwT
Well that's a big blow in assisting newcomers.
It's going to be a classic armored core with a poise system and bosses
i loved how dynamic the missions were, you had betrayals happaning in the middle of the mission, or instead of doing what was planned ahead, the whole story does a 180 and you just have to get the fuck out there, shooting your way to the exit, it was really well done in AC3.
I think you mean the story had lots of twists? The missions are not really "dynamic" since the betrayals and turns always happen, right?
@@__-fi6xg Last raven. It is the most difficult game from ever made IMO.
Especially in silent line man that game had a lot of missions that have plot twists and sometimes have a double plot twist
I hope that they keep AC4/FA's Hard Mode missions. Them being "the same mission but with a twist" was so cool.
I demand a mandatory don't shoot the generator mission where everything explodes
I forgot to mention that I wanted 4th generations minimalistic lock on style. Thanks for watching! Vacation time! Also I want the mail system to return. And hidden parts.
Booo. Worst style. Boo this man. 👎
I'm pretty sure they'll take elements from both 4 and 5. I hope the PvP will be good, it'd be nice if they implement some good environmental destruction as well.
I'd like to see the lock boxes return. But fully tied to FCS/ head, like in DxM.
Lock boxes is better for me. Makes pvp more competitive imo.
Hopefully this creates more mecha games.
not fan girling but i don't think any other game put together such weapons, speed and agility in a mech game
FYI the Intro mech from Armored Core 2, Leos Klein's AC, is called Ethermaster.
The story mode being focused on single player mode and not co-op is very good actually.
AC V/VD had so many unfair and unbalanced missions because they weren't made for single player only
If you couldn't do Verdict Day solo thats kinda on you
@@watch.v-dQw4w9WgXcQ I did most missions solo and the rest with the AC npc
thank god, leave co'op to call of duty and fortnite
@@watch.v-dQw4w9WgXcQ facts
I would love to see HD models for 4A White Glint and Noblesse Oblige in Armored Core 6.
For multiplayer, I'd love to see a 4-6 member team with a small campaign, separate from the story, that includes massive boss enemies. Can you imagine teaming up with your friends to fight against an Arms Fort like Spirit of Motherwill or Answerer? Missions will be nuts!
Congratulations, you just discovered AC V. Though it was too soon and too niche in it’s multiplayer focus
I'd also love to see stuff like the energy exceed thing where you could get infinite energy for 30 seconds and be punished with a massive recharge after
That infinite energy came in clutch sometimes
Edit: saved me a couple times when I'd fall to far off the map and didnt have enough energy to fly back up
@Siberian I'm just a fan of the whole override the safety stuff in mecha it doesn't have to as overpowered as it was before
Limiter release would be interesting
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 Steam Game description says
"players will assemble and pilot their own mech with 3D maneuverability to move freely through three dimensional fast-paced missions" you are welcome

I think they will do a sortie storytelling rather than vague open world interpretation.
Then again, the director won't be Miyazaki (since he already did AC4 and AC4A).
Sekiro was quite a close to Miyazaki's Bloodborne so I think it will be that, if they do not do an "open world"
I'd say that it would be a shame if they do the same thing as the traditional AC game.
Thanks for watching!
@Dan R you got trapped in the destiny hole too huh?
Watching the background 5v1 fight from the end of 4A gave me flashbacks.
Gameplay wise, I really hope they can strike a good balance between 3rd gen and 4A.
Like Halflight from DS3, yeah?
Like a reverse consort. That'd be cool. I know they said no co op but I really hope there's a disc 2 dlc with some co op missions. That'd be sick as hell.
"so basically will there be any souls mechanic?"
"No"
"Ok but what if-"
"I said no"
Sounds like how the interview went lol
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 some people can't just accept that the same Devs can make totally different games, hahah
I agree I'd love to see Nineball again too.
Idk how ign exists in today's way. I'd trust anyone opinion over big reviewers like ign
Give me city maps. The armored core nexus intro has always been my favorite and I’d love to see more cities
from what i got from one interview is that they want the essence of Armored Core what made the game so enjoyable in the first place and i mean the first iteration almost like the Original Star Wars, because in the Original AC there was magic it flowed, it had all the potential but not the resources they have today, super interested to see what it delivers
ACV emblem mechanic (basically put being able to make itasha AC), more core type options each with their own perks and cons mix in AC3 and ACV flavors (OB type, EO type, CIWS Type, Hanger type), movable battle UI elements kinda like DxM, being able to transfer X sized photos to be emblems for the people who can't "draw"
and indeed Easter Egg missions can be "fun" I would like to see how "balanced" it would be to fight all AC3 gen major bosses back to back (DOVE, IBIS, Pulverizer, super Zinaida) all in the span of 1 mission
I always enjoyed pvp campaign stuff. So it be cool if you could join a campaign mission. As a Raven hired by a rival Company. That be dope AF.
Hell I’m even glad you like FF6 (the music) here’s to hoping even that receives some love at some point too.
settle down i can sense your excitement 1000000 kilometres away 😂
but yes probably best anticipated game of 2023
It'd crazy how u say "skipped a generation" but this game is coming out on the ps4 lmfao.
As much as they can manage I'd prefer this kind of thing to come down to how you build and tune the mech.
you summed up my hopes for AC6 pretty much perfectly
I love the honesty of this video, it's clearly EVERYTHING you want. You aint gonna get them all but it looks promising.
What we really need to see return in Armored Core is Patches. Everyone forgets that Patches originated from Armored Core as "Patch the good luck".
Ya! And he should have the same VA as patches from souls lol. I'd love to see him troll us in ac6
and then people forget that kings field/shadow tower games had very similar character to Patches before that :) And while i can understand AC bros not being much into KF, it makes me mad realizing that most of "soulsborne fanbase" dont give a shit of important titles that their "beloved" devs ever made.
It's probably more of an overheating mechanic type thing
Damn, took the words out my mouth, the perfect balance would be 3rd gen movement pace with qb also at your disposal, just not as all encompassing as 4th gen. I am very excited for this single player, I can almost guarantee it's going to be more dynamic than ever before, AC has already had some epic campaigns but they are going to push these bosses to the limit. I love how 3rd gen the parts in the trailer looked, peak AC right there in the trailer.
I really hope they removed those organic mutant spiders and shit from ac6
This isn't relevant to the topic of the video, but watching you clutch out a win on Arteria Carpals was sick as hell
Pove that mission. I didnt wanna fully cheese it so I only used 1 kojima cannon lol
I really enjoy the fastness of 4th gen and the flight - felt like true Japanese mech battles
Final fantasy 6 music in the intro? Talking about armored core? It's like my childhood all over again.
I'd like co op and the ability to fight nine ball Seraph again. That's about it.
I would love it if it was Armored Core For Answer, with better graphics, more parts, and longer story missions. If they did that, I'd be a happy camper!
i hope armored core 6 has final fantasy 6 music 😄
Don’t forget, they need to return the replay feature, and the option to view the opponents side or the top view and dynamic/cinematic view.
Give boosters a quickboost refresh stat. That way you'd have to sacrifice overal mobility in order to get faster QB's. Assuming they balance it right.
Allowing us to assign colors to different weapons types on our
HUD so it could be used to quick select a weapon during combat.
Better HUD on the same head, a larger clip on a shot gun, or add a few extra missiles to your shoulder mount Maybe even let us give them a larger yield OR add a penatration perk before they explode , the possibilities are endless.
i want the nexus/nine breaker system of tunings/stat increasing come back
that way we can min mad everything from turning drift radar ammo count dmg etc whatever just let us run completely wild w trying to tweek our units
also the slug guns from first gen and/or linear guns from 3rd gen those were nice
I loved that thing but I never used it cause it chewed through ammo so fast lol
@@nightfox6738 But it does still hurt an AC though especially if you go dual Finger. In Nexus, Ninebreaker and Last Raven I used it as hanger weapon after my primary arm weapons unloaded all its ammos.
@@nelsonpanagsagan2725 Makes sense. I didn't play Nexus/Ninebreaker/LR much so hangers weren't really an option.
I want to see a 4 and For Answer remaster collection.
And a February release date for ACVI
I have a feeling the game is already done. I'm pretty sure ac6 has been in development probably as long as elden ring. Its prolly gonna come out the most finished game in 2023 lol... hopfully I dont eat my words
Primal Armor from AC4 is probably the reward for aggressive combat.
Same, the speed and intensity of 4th gen are unrivaled in the ac series
I want AC4A Movement, with AC3/SL Customization and Garage, with a cool story, multiplayer that actually works, and Open World missions. Also if it doesn't release on PC and/or the main character is a stronk wahman, I will KMS.
It's coming to PC and I doubt from will go woke (I hope).
I hope we are able to share AC designs / setups with the community (like designs are shared on racing games).
In for answer you could send designs to people in your lobby
You're not the only one with weapon manufacture colors.
I agree with you on that.
(REDEYE in 1st gen, EYE in 3rd gen, etc.)
I really hope we get something like the WASP head, the "slit visor with sensor on the forehead" type head have always been my favorites in each game they've appeared in (Leos Klein's AC, WASP, the QUEEN head part, etc.)
ACV had the best ai compainion that you could program yourself. It was sick
kinda shitty of ign to only ask about souls and sekiro in an interview about armored core
Atleast the developers would answer the question then side track for a bit to talk about other stuff
What I want from AC6 personally is: for it to be excellent
Wish list:
- Branching paths for equipment unlocks, not unlike Ace combat 5 and monster hunter.
Loved the Final Fantasy VI ost there, man. Soon enough we will see the Armored Core 6 in the spotlight everywhere!
You did mention the giant MT in the tunnel though when you were talking about the giant flying MT spirit of mother will and stuff like that hahahaha
Whoops. Didnt hear it while listening
I'd personally like the anime-esque high-speed of AC4, and AC: For Answer.
very much agree with everything you said. i do hope tho we get some bigger maps so in missions we can explore them or revisit them later on to explore a bit to get some parts. sadly the way he talked about the singleplayer and multiplayer makes it sound no coop but who knows, fromsoftware really enjoyed their multiplayer aspect so i pray for it since i do have a bunch of friends that wanna check this armored core out and never played one before. also a way to bring back endless flying without hurting the game is by having the endless flying tied to certain missions, kinda like how it worked with starfox. in one missions you are on rails and in others its free roam. they could do something like that for endless flying by suplying a fly unit. i like flying but ever since i played deamin ex machina i fucking hate flying in mech games because every time i had to leave the ground it lost any good feeling.
I think if there was some type of lighter Core like how there were ob/oe cores in 3rd gen, that could stay in flight longer could be more of interesting idea.
Pretty much sums up what most of what we want too.
I would be asking too much but I few things I would like to add are
- cameo bosses (or acs resemblances) like nineball, white glint, etc
-raid bosses (acv or verdict day spirit of the motherwill)
-Tuning (so "fashion core" can be a bit easier xD)
I believe "Cascade range(LR's cover AC)" also used the Python. It was a letdown using the weapon compared to the cinematic. If Zinaida's Python were added, it should be slightly modified to have a few tweaks whether damage, firerate, reload speed/downtime, etc.
Ya that python would need a total rework lol. It would be cool if you could keep it charged instead of being forced to fire it
Co-op boss battles like ACV would be sweet
Maybe it'd be a stretch but a co-op wave mode would be fun
As long as they dont half ass the main game and have a good amount of parts I'd be happy for anything new.
@@aboveaveragegaming6120 maybe it could be a post game dlc so it doesn't effect the main game's development
Dang, no one commenting on my guys gameplay in the background. That mission still kicks my ass.
Corporate endings would be sick and ng+ to get all the other corporate parts sounds fun.
All I want is For Answer with new parts, missions and graphics.
"Is it gonna be like sekiro? It's going to be like sekiro, right? What inspiration will it be taking from sekiro and soulsborne? Soulslike? Hm? Dark souls???"
Like omg pls let armored core be its own thing. I'm glad we have some direct confirmation it won't be drawing from the souls series.
Atleast they answered the main question we where worried about... it WONT be a souls like. Lol
All I remember is car door core and the weird ass legs that compliment the car door core lol
The gun sticking out of the core actually shoots down incoming missiles in Gen 1-3.
@@inixi8ocelot I didn't know that's pretty cool.
There's multiple cores with a gun sticking out so it would be cool to see one of them shoot down missiles and the other be a machine gun or something.
I completely agree with most of what you say in the video except adding rarity to weapons, yeah it would be cool to equip an iconic weapon on one of our ACs but thats not what Armored Core is about, it just dosent feel right to start adding rarity status to weapons
Also I want to have a rival on Armored Core VI like we had in LR, I really liked Zinaida and if they could mix something up with Nine Ball that would be so awesome
Oh and also multiple arena types like we had in MoA disc 2
My personal wishlist:
*Gameplay that handles much like Last Raven, including flight.
*Parts that feel unique to use.
*Storylines that go beyond working as a mercenary (I loved how much more immersive Project Phantasma was, even if it had some missteps in telling the story).
*A wider variety of multiplayer modes, like capture the flag or king of the hill.
Things I definitely Do Not Want:
*Gameplay like Armored Core 5.
Have a good vacation! Was literally binging ur videos and saw a new upload! Good stuff!
Tyvm!
