You singularly are so insightful and creative on this device. Truly. I've combed through every tip and trick in anticipation of my unit arriving, and your ideas are unbridled
Got mine yesterday and I totally agree with you the fact that there are 4 tracks doesn't limit you at all especially if you use the drum kit samples. I think it's excellent and I will keep mine as well. Great video as well and music of course
OP-YX is classic biased reviewing - it’s overpriced so it HAS to be good - every jam I’ve heard on it is nothing special - these jams are very good indeed
@ same. TE gear is really weird. It’s awesome, it’s unique, but everything from them there’s a back in forth in my mind trying to justify having it. The op-1 field is amazing though.
Easybot (or ezbot?) has one and sampled from it in an M8 video a week ago. The sounds was pretty awesome, but basically I think it was just a sample, so it's not that difficult to be a good sample player. Time will tell if he does something cool with it.
Speechless, your track is at the level for Sasha to play. And made with Ableton Move. Now come the critics to say that it is limited. Impressive. The first Track
super cool! great use of the move. Im only a week in to mine, and im obsessed. Lifelong music maker, ableton user nearly 20 years, and find myself quickly cooking up ideas in a way i never found possible before. Ive also owned many grooveboxes over the years, as well as countless apps, including ableton note lol. just an awesome little box. Haters always going to hate when a new product drops, but i feel like people will wake up to this as time moves on and more and more videos like yours are posted. Seriously love all the tracks you show. Second one is awesome. Nasty shit! subscribing
This is an excellent showcase of what can be achieved with “only 4 tracks” on the Move. I even noticed how full the sound was still, when the last song only used 1 track at one point. Great work. I’m loving Move too, and I agree with the gateway drug comment. Maybe I was being naive when Move was released, but it’s really tied me into the Ableton ecosystem now.
Excellent sounds / tunes / sound design - like every piece of gear Move is only limited by your imagination - it’s a hugely capable bit of kit - I’ve been having fun with mine too - loading your own samples is a great way to increase its possibilities 👏🏻
Nice one. I also think the limitations of Move make it easier to learn than daw which is less overwhelming. But, at the same time it has similar functionality to the big brother, and you can seamlessly move the project and continue there. I think it is perfect for Ableton users who want a dawless mobile setup but being able to add finishing touches in the daw later
This is excellent! I got a Move at Christmas and have literally just this minute released my first RUclips video using it. Oddly enough, I got the Korg Oscilloscope too but haven't built it yet.
It's crazy... I used the "I don't have to tell you things are bad" sample for my first track on my Akai Force! And I sampled that specifically from RUclips and didn't get it from some sample pack. Just goes to show you that no sample you "borrow" will be unique. Debating getting an Ableton Move, because I love groove boxes. Nice tracks!
Network. Is a truly prophetic movie and it changed my life, with regard to politics and the media. I'm still mad as hell but I learned to take it up the arse.
I'm a Push 2 owner, so i dont think the Move was going to be something i sought after. But i do think people jumped the gun with the criticism of it upon release. I understand the complaints about limited tracks, but you can do so much with one track in Ableton. Not only that, but some people have option paralysis. They need the limitation or they wont get anything done. I struggle with this at times due to having a lot of VSTs.
You’re right - the only problem with having access to so many sounds so easily is how to start - I’ve finished more music on this thing because option paralysis isn’t really a problem when I’m using it.
nice video. i thought it was 16 steps max on the sequencer. but at 1:47 there is like a keyboard solo going on for more than 16 steps. can someone explain whats going on? thanks
Great variety of genres, very well made! I really like the first track, especially the drums. Do you mind sharing which drum kit you used there? Maybe some 808 sounds?
Came for the tips, stayed for the music. Awesome.

can you send your ableton projects to playaround with them and move them back as projects to ableton?
Kind of, but only if your original project in ableton conforms to the track count and devices the move can run. It’s not ideal, really.

16 steps, yes, for each bar. Maximum pattern length is 16 bars though. Plenty enough for any situation
