LG is always been underrated company.... Actually they always come up with lots of innovations.....
Though their software support/updates is weak at best, had a couple of their phones, not anymore
@@channelschannel can you elaborate more on that, im looking out to bought one of this phone.
@@channelschannel yeah man. I wish LG used stock Android and part of the Android One program instead of their heavy skin. This would have made LG phones much better and popular.
Software support is non-existent. At least on my experience. My V20 was on android 7.0 when I bought it on release. 2years later I sold it and bought a new phone. I sold that V20 and it was still running android 7.0 wtf. Other units received an 8.0 update but here in the philippines I didn't get one, thats why I sold it.
@@popantermopan4099 So true. Great hardware. Slow updates. Below average OS.
That's a cool idea.
Single screen and if you need a second screen, you buy one.
@Flights And The Universe I believe that varies from country to country, no?
@Flights And The Universe i think LG says it will let carriers decide to sell it with the accessory or as an add on, the dual screen cover is rumored to be USD 115
Att no longer has it in box but sprint still has the free case long as u sign up for lg 2 year warranty
This seems like a more logical approach to having split screens. You can use your phone as is and if you need the extra screen you just need to snap into a foldable portfolio. It looks like a better more practical design compared to the Samsung Fold. Also, I believe its cheaper even if you buy the accessory with the phone. Good job LG!
Exactly, you only use that accessory if you want to do some multitasking or dual-screen gaming. If you don't need to do any of that, just take it off. Much more practical than bringing the Galaxy Fold around.
I think, it's better than folding phone. More solid maybe
yeah, definetly its more durable and cheap.
And if break, buy a new one. Easy!
Fauzi Burhanuddin agreed
Yes
The secondary display notch is due to the fact these screens are pulled from the same production line.
Why does everyone struggle to understand this? It's simple: same display, same color science, same specs, same durability, same everything.
yeah, much cheaper to produce
Because people want a no notch display so LG took an L on this one, if it's a good product money shouldn't be an option it's already $800 an extra 50 doesn't matter.
I agree. It's all about symmetry.
1. It reduces cost
2. Symmetry
Both screen have gorilla glass 3 ?
Wait... This thing technically has THREE displays!?
I am an LG fan, and have the V30S. Love the Quad Dac, stellar camera hardware and beautiful OLED screen. I have been watching LG with great interest to see what they bring on the market next, as I don't feel I'm at the point where I should upgrade yet. But my excitement has been met with hesitation, as LG seems to focus on ideas that are hard to wrap my head around. What they are trying to do with this dual screen "accessory", is beyond me. Is it their effort to match the "foldable" concept? I hope not, because if it is, it's just lame. It is pretty clear by looking at the "second screen" that it feeds off the phone's main battery, which is designed to power one screen not two. This can only mean it's going to drain it twice as fast, so even though you have twice the screen real estate, you end up with half the battery time to get things done. So much for productivity. It also looks more like one of those flip cases that people used to keep their phones in a few years back, which never really took off. LG has a lot of ground cover and catch up with Samsung (like updating their handsets to Android 9 while 10 is already out). But now I know why my phone never got the Android 9 update, not in June, not in July, and not in August. Because LG was working on this nonsense. Please, LG, for the love of god get your shit together, before there will be no more customers to show your cool concepts to.
I know, LG peaked with the V30
This looks more practical though. Even if the screens aren't connected seamlessly you have the option at least. Also if you just want a regular sized phone you can remove the second screen. Also its thinner and probably less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Fold. At least with this folding LG device you have many options and uses as a customer.
LG is trash.
@@IPendragonI You're wrong about that. And you seem superficial too. Stick to your Pixel, or whatever it is you're rocking.
LG says only 20% Battery is used by the second screen.
Game emulators, including switch will be awesome on this phone.
no bluetooth lag, as it's all usbc.
Imagine *Pokémon Trading* 😍😂
@@---..---.. sure it is the 855 is within 5% of apples a12 multi core and has more ram
@@---..---.. not yet at least. There is a company called citra that has been developing the 3ds emulator. I think a switch emulator would be easier to work with
LG makes the BEST!! 💥💥
Awesome short review of an amazing smartphone... I love how low key cool LG ideas come to life... This literal dual screen implementation is super practical and I'm sure the longevity is superseding foldable monolithic approach. I'm still using LG G6 in 2019 and I still love it...
If LG would be a country - it would be Australia, for sure 😁😁😁👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
i feel this is more practical than the foldables really nice
the dual-screen feature in the G8X ThinQ is something that we get to see very rarely! LG is one of those few brands which actually believe in innovation... And it's not just this feature which makes the phone impressive. It has brilliant cameras (both rear & front), 4000mAh battery & is backed by the performance of Snapdragon 855! so you can expect much more than multitasking from this phone
I love Whale browser in G8X!! It's really awesome!!
Best review channel👍💯
From Nepal
Pretty sure the 2nd screen has a notch because LG used the same panels.
I love LG & Samsung phones but im not feeling $700 plus phones coming with 1080p displays 👎. Guess im getting the LG V50. Love the duel screen case though👏
Lg g8x was on sale in festive season for Rs. 19990/21990 in India. It's great to use this device at such jaw dropping price point.
How's it works
@@amitsharda8198 it works really good. But there is no software update till date.
on android 10 second screen work wen its fuly 36o
Besides the dual screen accessory. The phone is okay with 1080p + SD855 + 4000mah. Battery life and performance better be good.
Watching this from an LG G2
Kylerncs i heard its a rock solid for the price is it true ?
@RDN where have you bought at this price ?
Want to know more about music possibilities of this phone. Yea, i know. that lg - phone for "melomans" (but i am not one of them), BUT, but, in Russia there is no new lg's phones with headphone jack and quad dac - absence of this option scares me. And 1 more thing i want to learn: working in the net, updates, list of countries when lg g8x will be available. Sorry for my english, writing with online dictionary. thx for understanding
I hope it comes to T Mobile
This is ZTE Axon M all over again. It's great to see other manufacturers doing the dual screen idea, much more ideal compared to foldable phones like Samsung Galaxy Fold or Huawei Mate X.
Awesome Phone, I loves LG's G series right from LG G3.
I actually like this implementation. 🙂
This I like very much
This is way better than the Galaxy folding phone concept. At least it has a glass screen, not plastic. And of course, it is more durable when folding overtime. Hope the 3rd gen will have QHD screen and a battery pack on the casing itself so it can charge or add power to the phone while keeping the size/thickness of the case. I'm waiting for this phone to come available in our country. Surely this will replace my Galaxy Note9! ;)
I just bought this. Best Buy has unlocked versions for $599.00. It comes with the add on screen:)
Must have been a black friday deal, my bb sells at 800 the greedy assholes
So how does a screenshot look like?
We just tried it. Only the screen you've last tapped appears in the screenshot.
2nd screen with the notch is a huge mistake, who wants a notch interrupting screen space?
@Zodi yepcolor match from the same production line, instead of another line with no notch., its about 1/10th the size of apple's notch, about the same size as samsung's hole.
It's a software thing and they could have given the option to the user to hide the notch, giving an immersive youtube / movie experience....hope they can fix it and i'm certainly considering LG after a long long time.
@Zodi I'm just not a notch fan, I was hopeful that LG had a solution with their 2nd screen being a full screen. It is a huge disappointment when the 2nd notch doesn't need to be there.
@@SirBobbyDazzler they use same screen to make the accessory cheaper. they dont have to make another product line for a separate screen.
@@SirBobbyDazzler They said it's because different OLED screens could discolor in different ways. I do understand LG's decision, but I also agree with you that having that second notch is unfortunate.
They should remove the notch in the second display, and if you want it to be uniform theb a black dot onscreen can fill it
I was looking at getting this phone or the Galaxy Fold, but after seeing the price of the Fold's monthly contract... I'm just hoping the G8X has a better price and comes out in the UK :)
Can you plug the phone with the screen facing back?
And can you use the camera app on the secondary screen?
Wow impressed such an innovation ❤️😍
I liked this implementation!
Watching on LG G5
Bhai m watching this on lg G4..love lg👍
If something similar to this does get released for Redmi K20 pro, I'm buying it without any doubt.
in depth review soon on these features in action.
Why will it not be available in the US???
Why is it that the sim cards in the Philippines cannot be used in LG G8X?
Will the phone work just like normal or is there somekind of issue with that?
I actually don't mind this at all. The dual screen is nice since the whole foldable phone thing is still in its infancy. I do wish the dual screen accessory had its own rechargeable battery rather than use the phone's battery. Many people would prefer longer battery life and I feel that the phone won't last as long on a charge due to the second screen.
It will consume 1.2 to 1.3 times more while using dualscreen. They did consider that as many people used the first dualscreen complained about it. However, they did not do it as it will increase the weight and thickness.
Do this phone supports wireless charging
Which one is better lg g8x or v50??
The best part is playing pornhub and youtube simultaneously 😂😂😂
Lol 😂🤣
🤣🤣
Lol😂😂
It'll be a great looking phone if Zack from jerryrig everything can turn it into a clear transparent back 👍
You think so? 🤔
Best reviewers !!!
Watching on g8x
When can I buy this phone ?
How is battery life
does it even have usb-c to hdmi out feuture?
i used lg once back then, it doesnt have it. and mirrorcast latency suck.
Not sure about this one, but probably yes, as LG flagship phones all had it
Will the usa v50 work with the second screen
Is the phone bill reasonable?
Better than folding phones

What about the price?
Last generation OnePlus 6/6T are getting Android 10 later this month. The G8X, which hasn't even been released yet, will LAUNCH with Android 9. When will the G8X get Android 10? Will it ever get Android 10? Who knows. This is LG.
lg original g8 model is busy with beta version android 10 now but only in korea. Might have ota very soon probably this month as the earliest.
I m already using .... Its an awesome device

I asked because they are not providing the charger in flipkart sale going on from tomorrow
When will this be Available in the States & Will we be getting the Dual Asccesary with The Phone?
Yes, it will be included in the box.
I just want that second screen for the V50 in the US
Ok i keep seeing this in vids but can't figure out how to do it. I have the phone. Im trying to turn my bottom screen into a full keyboard while my text is on the top screen. Rotating the phone just rotates the image. And there's no option i see under the duel screen option to expand out to the second screen. Anyone know how to make it work?
The pioneer for foldable devices and many innovations, they will leave a big space, and we will not going to see new ideas from the companies that remains in the market :(
I wonder if you can still do split screen on this dual screen making it a quad screen experience?
i got this phone last week. i tested it for u right now and its not possible to split the screen on the second screen. So u can only use 3 screens (splitted on the main screen) at the same time :)
@@yiigiido5154 so what is ur review of the phone?
@@pattimcb31PROS: battery is durable if u use mainly the phone screen. Its also very fast in the matter of opening Apps or Website... I like the colors on this phone and brightness ... I didnt checked the camera, but first impression was not bad... Video 4k/60fps
CONTRAS: It might be a little bit to big and heavy using with single Hand
WiFi connection was better with my Samsung gs7 edge especially when i am far away from Router ...
Thats all what can i say after using it for one week ....
Hope i could help u.
Are u a native english speaker? How is my english Mate? 😀
@@yiigiido5154 everything reads great to me thanks for sharing
@YiiGii Do I do think using three apps at the same time is already more than enough.
Damn 2 separate screen
It is okay, but LG have to be on their feets to invest their valuable time in bringing software experience to the fullest not to be obsessed with foldable screens and second screens. It is nice accessory to be honest, I will take this two screen implementation over foldable ones.
Interesting
What's the notch do on the secondary display...nothing???
LG G8X 3DS
I like it
Can you do a comparison of Lenovo Z6 Youth and Realme 5
i want!!!!!!
An ebook!!
Do you guya think this is better than the Samsung Galaxy Fold ?
I think the Fold is better if you have money lol. Bigger screen videos for example. The LG gives u 2 displays but u cant use it as 1 display, thats a little bit bad in my eyes. If u want a cheap big phone, go for the dual screen :-)
3:58 "foldable farm factor"
Izin save
Anybody really thinking of picking this up? If you pre-order now you can get the dual screen free and I'm conflicted between this and Samsung Note 10+ or even a the 11 Pro Max. I just need a phone that I can easily dual task and play a few mobile games, schoolwork and professional work, and YT vods/podcasts lol.
OMG! I want a case like that made for my Note 10 Plus. Although Samsung would charge $1000.00 for the case unlike LG who is sending it to you for free with proof of purchase / lease.
so just buy an LG instead lol
Still rather use my ZTE Axon M runnin Nova Launcher Prime
I'm actually dreaming of owning one, but the LG is a much newer device than that ZTE with plethora of spec improvements. The LG's 9mm super ultrawide camera definitely sold me.
But what really made me think twice about the ZTE is the supported 4G LTE bands. If I import the ZTE to Malaysia, only one telco will support the band. The rest will have to do with 3G at best.
As said earlier, master of none.
What's the point if the software support sucks? If it's bootloader unlockable then why not? But noooooo
Lg lost me on the double notch lol
Great for hacking,
Put linux rom,
Install tools,
Conncet to adaptor,
Type faster with touch too,
Comes with good camera and put tape to cover the tracks😜
FBI think its phone, man rocking the hack
Kabiraj Adhikari and big brother is always watchin u
seems like the common sense way to go about the dual screen.
I buy this on flipkart big billion days
The screen looks like Redmi note 7. Those bezels🤐
RUclips + Mobile Legends ( If the 2nd screen can output bluetooth audio then buy 2pcs of M0E265 to have independent audio on both ears, COOLLL! )

@@chriswright8074 ok thanks a lot

LGV50 X ;
Which is better LG V50 or LG G8X ThinQ ?
No one cares about the phone it's the case! All phones should have screen cases.
Too bad LG just moved out of the mobile market :((((
why is the second display has a notch too😂😂😂
From manufacturing point of view, it is exactly the same product as the main display. No need to have an another part number, another production line. Huge cost saving. Got it?
It helps in saving manufacturing cost as well as consumer buying cost =))). An economical decision.
As per my phone finder GSM Arena (I have been using this to tell me what to buy for ages) sadly not many companys see what people want. this is the 3rd phone same as s10 plus and s10. Not even note 10 is listed as headphone jask is missing. But the crappy part is. Why they have used Optical fingerprint scanner not Ultrasonic Bad move LG.
I also have a50 the fingerprint is terrible. Worthless. Never works.
