did yall realize how nice he is,like just focus on the details like: hello all you beautiful people. i mean he still has a full time job, most people wouldn't do youtube anymore or they'd be pissed and stressed all the time. love the fact that you can see he loves making youtube videos even tho he doesn't have like 100k, keep doing what you love beautiful person, have a good day
I agree with what you're saying. But also, I think keeping your day job in combination with doing RUclips has always been the more sensible way of doing things. Maybe it is more obvious now, with a lot of smaller channels having no monetisation. But RUclips was never going to last in terms of making people rich. I'm sure some made an insane living out of it, doing it full time. And the only way to grow to 100k or 1M+ subscribers is definitely to put in the effort. But unfortunately, the golden days of RUclips seem to be gone.
I heard copers were a rule at some 70s/80s pools, but there'd be a rite of passage and if you could perform at a level, maybe being light enough on the coping, you could ditch them. I think there's a video about it, but it may be hearsay.
Some skatepark owners used to require copers because they thought they had to protect the coping. Pretty sure that's how they started. Then everybody had them street skating too. Seems like they disappeared when launch ramps and ollie's came in to the picture, they would fall off constantly.
One of the greatest skateparks ever created. You have no clue how many people I’ve seen wreck into the jersey barriers and the fence coming of the highway cause of how it abruptly it’s ends. The best one was when the mini van ended up on its roof in the bowl
Originally Coper grinding devices started with Tracker Trucks( 1980s), Independent had pvc Grindmasters ( Stage II/III)( 1983?).Variflex had a coping device held by tie straps.Apparently Gullwing had some back in the day as well...
The only time I've ever seen these was in the late 80's when I got my first deck. Cost ten ponds and came with plastic trucks, wheels, nose guard, tail guard, rails and plastic bits, over the plastic trucks!
I recommend getting one of those small drills that come with sanding or cutting bits, I always use one of those for when I'm cutting slide pucks or razor tail pucks.
lol i just watched seans diy video. funny different philosophies. getting way more than you need, vs finding what you're missing so you just get enough. great vid
I used them in the mid 80's a lot, and stopped when they sorta disappeared. But I am building a ramp for the kids and have PVC coping. Was thinking that slapping copers on our trucks could help the soft coping last longer.
haha I have a picture of me taking home some PVC from homedepot in my GTI, I opened the sunroof and had it go from the hatch out the top of the sun roof. Who needs a work truck?! this is such a cool project!!
Dude, they’re fun as hell, reminds me of the old days. There’s a pro version called skeleton keys too. Easy to make though, and well fun, I even made darkslide copers/rails but they ripped off third go, have a blast, happy shredding!🎉
Awesome vid as usual Zac - great tip! Its great seeing what was old is now becoming new again. Boards used to come with these on trucks back in the 80's ...its great to see rails making a comeback too ...whats next? Tail pads? 😁
Cool idea. I've been making some out of recycled milk cartons (same stuff as butter benches). They grind anything! Also been making rails out of milk cartons, feel free to steal the idea (video on my channel) as you'll do a lot better job than me of making a video out of it.

Pvc is awesome stuff to play with. Next time only cut the slit down the side. Heat it up.with a heat gun until it's completely pliable then using gloves form it onto the trucks and it will hold the new form in seconds. Will be like a perfect fitting mold
Also you should check out my diy spot now in the desert. I definitely need to work on the film/editing department but that will come with time. Also. I love that skatepark you're in (for bmx) only rode it once being from az
@@ZackDowdy thanks man! It's almost been a year of just slowly piecing it together. Finally nearing the end. And then I'll keep adding on haha. Sucks that wood is so expensive right now.
i recently bought 58 mm slimeballs and sometimes in the street i have to slow down with my foot on the ground because i get so many speed and nice ride, my favorite wheels so far
Could you use something like this to grind and slappy curbs without wax on em? Could be really cool to just skate down the street and be able to grind whatever
@@ZackDowdy not hating. Just takes me back to a time when complete boards came with copers, lappers, rails, skid plates, nose guards and gigantic wheels and trucks. Those boards were terrible to skate, weighted a ton and all that crap would get taken off immediately anyway.
@@mygoldfishdrown5178 personally I don't skate copers im really just being sarcastic towards your comment. Some people like them some dont just because you don't doesn't mean its should stay in the 80's if that was the case then skateboarding as a whole should have stayed in the 80's
i just landed a line where i did a heel flip then back 50 on a ledge rock fakie a quarter then do a fakie flip then a half cab board slide then i come back to this like AMAZING
This one took me back to the 80s! Pro tip: use your grinder with a metal cutting blade. Will cut through PVC like butter. I do it every day! Keep the Heat coming! #DIY! 👊🔥🤘
Amazing that someone would put a “how to” video out on a subject with zero knowledge, research or acknowledgement of the the actual history that already occurred some forty years ago. No list of tools needed, no mention of dims, fit or cut guidelines given relating to various truck brand/hanger shape etc. ‘Noping’ is not a thing a concrete lip is just that a concrete lip. Good job you just re-invented the wheel (really badly).

The reason I couldn't get ones to work on Indy 169s is the same reason they work so well on ace's.
1 hose clamps are good for keeping your copers on. 2 swiss army knife pocket saws are great for making them.
