To help your JB weld go a little further, Find some random pebbles and ram them in the gap as much as possible. Then JB weld over that. You can spend a little time on this and get some perfect wedged ones all up in it.
Most movie theaters (at least in my area) are still temporarily moth-balled for COVID... I've been skating behind an IMAX... super-private and so far no BS from anyone.
Instead of the JB Weld, you should use Bondo in the cracks. It hardens faster, and after you Rub Brick it along with the curb, you can coat it with enamel. It becomes hard as rock, and you can grind and slide it.
Glad you finally made this video. Have you tried the jb weld sticks? You fold it together until it activates and gets hot. It's like play doh. You can skate it in minutes.
I saw your one day skate spot video and I'm like automatically pressing, liking and then a banger like this comes out and I'm pressing, liking and sharing🤙🤙🔥🔥💯💯
I’ve been wanting to micro dose psilocybin for a while, and then I watched your video on it. I started microdosing, today is day two. I appreciate you being open. Imagine the world if everyone who needed shrooms got it.
So sick! I was thinking the mixed version of the stuff you used on the pool coping looked a lot like JB Weld! That feeble board was so dope, thought you were gonna keep sliding out of frame haha
Whaaaaat I just fixed up a curb for the first time today. Was looking for that clear enamel but only found clear coat automotive paint and didn't end up using it. I wonder if that would do the job, what do you think?
Love your vids! Me and some buddies did this a few days ago at a school. The only problem was we couldn’t use spray paint. Is there an alternative that would work but not be so illegal?
Yo i want to start building my own spots but what would you recommend to do first, wood or concrete? I rlly like the idea of making a wood kicker but I also want to build/fix some concrete spots around me
It seems that slanted curbs are ideal for slappys, especially 5050s where you have to get up with your trucks. Unfortunately where I live those are pretty much non-existent, most of the curbs here have a 90degree angle.. I tried to learn slappy 5050's on such a curb but the angle seemed way to steep so I didn't really accomplish much... so is it better then to drop those 90degree curbs completely (especially considering 5050's) and instead look harder to try to find a slanted curb? Can you slappy 5050 a 90degree curb?
It must be a CA thing to have “slanted” curbs. That doesn’t exist where I live (in FL) that I have found. I may just make my own…All the local curbs are poured on the 90 and are usually very raw and very rough. The humidity here in FL doesn’t help, as the curbs crumble pretty easy if you try and Rub Brick them
Number one objective is to find a place with an ideal curb. Mine is a school with a curb that drops as low as 1” off the pavement and is painted over yellow (front of a school). Traffic at non-school hours is negligible. I just don’t know who might bust me if I start trying to modify the curb.
They sell little tubs of cheap concrete crack filler at lowes/home depot that works good to fill bigger cracks. Just lacquer over them before skating and it's really buttery and solid
@@robwwhat6503 I was asking if you were a Zboy cuz of your gravatar. There was one out here in San Diego back in the day. He is still out there Jimmy Acosta. One of my fav skaters. I’ve been scouting a good new curb spot for a couple of weeks now with no luck, it’s either high traffic, shitty ground or a combination of both lol. Hey, Zach have you ever gotten hassled by anyone while DIYing a curb? I feel super sketchy using the brick and clear coat even if it’s kinda out of the way of people, I keep thinking someone’s gonna call the fuzz and they’re gonna escalate it to some vandalism of city property or something. I’m in NorCal and I’m not sure if the cops would be like “Hey fucko knock it off and gtfoh” or if they’d take it super serious and I’d end up having a gigantic fine because they’d say they need to replace the entire curb lol. Am I just trippin?
Yeah when people come & ask what I'm doing I'm pretty honest with then, tell them I'm trying to make more safe places for people to ride their skateboard. If they freak out, stay calm, and let them fight themselves.
That looked like an expansion joint, not a crack, to me. Depending on the weather in your area, keeping that joint open might be important to prevent cracking.
Also, if the crack is too big, you can put in pebbles or any filler like that so you don’t have to use as much putty
Im a simple guy, I see a Zack Dowdy video, I press like
I love you

I find fibreglass reinforced filler (reo, fibrefill etc) works best and holds up to abuse better than regular filler.

Steel stick is my preferred method. No taping just mush it up put it in the crack, wait 5 mins, sand down, clear coat. Fully cured in an hour
Is that typically in the plumbing section at harware stores?
@@jonathansikes5200 Not sure. But you can usually look online and it will tell you what isle its on.
Perfect timing! Gonna go out and look for some nice curbs today

I got to check that stuff out!
You have any recommendations on fixing a chunky concrete ledge?
Bondo is great for that! It's always tough once it starts chipping it'll always chips it's almost just about that maintenance upkeep once it's chunky.
Thank you my man, been waiting on this vid for too long!!

Perfect thanks so much.... could you link which jb weld you used?
In the description
JB Weld Steel Stick is the way to go. No mixing, you just knead it and stuff it in the crack.
That’s what we used in our video. ruclips.net/video/czZ5GeYETtQ/видео.html

Same lol!! You can totally use the Set-XP for this as well.
Just Picked up a cordless grinder and a concrete grinding disc makes a curb super smooth in no time
That feeble boardslide fakie 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Got lucky!
That Macdonald "lid" is saving the day, nice work.
Would the steps be the same for a parking block?
i made a curb near by skateable by just coating it with wax over and over and then skate it over and over. A couple months later is is really buttery.
this is what ima do but add some clear enamel then apply hella wax to the curb
Whaaaaat I just fixed up a curb for the first time today. Was looking for that clear enamel but only found clear coat automotive paint and didn't end up using it. I wonder if that would do the job, what do you think?
That could work, paint helps either-way! You could use wax but the clear enamel or lacquer make that nice thin coat above the curb.
auto paint will work fine too. might even have better coverage
@@greasypubes Thanks! going to try today
Always great content on this channel
Love your vids! Me and some buddies did this a few days ago at a school. The only problem was we couldn’t use spray paint. Is there an alternative that would work but not be so illegal?
brush on clear enamel. the ones they sell in pints. that should work good enough
Brush on works for sure! If you can't use enamel wax is a decent alternative.
What the spray is used for in normal using ? 🤔
I m french so I have to translate to find the good spray !
Wow those sound cut outs around 4:00.

I personally like concrete but wood is less intimidating to start with.

You don’t need to spray enamel the JB weld??
You can! I was letting the JB weld dry, but the stuff I got has a gloss so it'll grind.
is there any rub brick alternatives? i can't find any in my country (malaysia) and it's really expensive online.
You can always use a standard brick.
@@ZackDowdy thanks!
Why not use concrete instead of JB weld?
Steel stick is best imo..... same brand tho JB W
