You forgot to add the disclamer that if you play this build and dont have a 4090 everytime you fireball your fps drop down to almost single digits, when i swapped from fireball to lightning i got my fps back
I can't really account for performance across multiple machines, I have an i7-12700k and RTX 3080 and it works fine for me, which is why I didn't put any disclaimer. I feel like a 3070ti should be more than enough so I wonder if there's some sort of issue with AMD CPUs bottlenecking you.
@@gaaracuz Then you must be doing something terrible wrong and/or straight up lying. I am on a 2070 and my fps goes from 120 to ~60 when playing this build (and im on high).
I’ve been doing a similar build with Ball Lightning Warps to force-detonate Frost walls. The Walls are just an amazing defensive utility while setting up the ball lightning warps, which applies super reliable shocking ground at high magnitude. Super fun and pretty fast, though I’m doing a lot more shenanigans with Three Dragons to force Freeze and toying around with Electrocute for more lols. They’re different builds, but this vid is giving me tons of optimization ideas.
Thank you for the detailed guide. Would it be beneficial to convert all your damage to be lightning via Blueflame Bracers (Fire to Cold) and then Whisper of Brotherhood (Cold to Lightning)?
No, for 2 reasons; 1) this means giving up both gloves and a ring, you'll lose more damage doing this than you gain from dealing more lightning. 2) Damage that's converted in PoE2 cannot be converted again so if you wear Blueflame you get cold/lightning, and Call of the Brotherhood wouldn't convert that to pure lightning.
Going to finish your shotgun fireball first before i try this because i cannot envisage a world where they leave this as it is lol. Most of the pieces transfer across anyways apart from the neck.
@@Tenkiei Cool will keep it in mind, i need to work on the boots and helm next so i can juggle the resistances around and fit the snakepit in quite easily.
Sadly no, it's awful to search them right now because you have to change the price and just hope you can find what you want in the list. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.
Pretty expensive to incorporate Grim feast as the Against All Odds with spirit was at 20d last time I checked! Cheapest is setup is probably to use Everlasting Gaze, spirit chest piece and corrupted helmet (no idea on the price of these) to reach the 160 spirit required for Archmage and Cast on Shock and just forego Grim feast
I would forego Cast on Shock before dropping Grim Feast while mapping. You can manually turn Grim Feast off and Cast on Shock on for bossing where it matters.
Between Fireball, Frost Wall and Flame Wall for the rotation and Conductivity, there's already too many buttons to manage in between boss mechanics, you can if you want but personally I'd only do that if I dropped something else.
Im still just trying to find the everlasting gaze or a div so i can purchase one...rough out here for a 40 year old dad that dont have much time to play...lmao! Really cool build though as i love the fireballs proccing everywhere...merry xmas and happy new year everyone!
It just kinda sucks to look for them at the moment. I spent like an hour manually searching to get my Against the Darkness, though the Controlled Metamorphosis I got lucky and dropped it when I was farming Xesht.
What lvl are you here? Im lvl 79 with all lvl 16 gems and my fireball only has 1200dps, you have 15k!!! Surely it doesnt scale that fast from my lvl to whatever you are at? Did I miss something?? (I have +4 wand and +2 focus)
Level doesn't matter so much as total investment. I've put well over 100 divines into my gear (or well over 50 if we don't count the flask). Generally the more you spend to get better gear the more damage you do. But I do also have ~10 levels on you.
Mmm I don't really see them nerfing the baseline spark/archmage build. Maybe a couple of versions like the Front loaded damage version, sure.. bit not with everlasting gaze etc
Who knew that the best fire build was stormweaver instead of the infernalist I tried to make one on :P

try turning dynamic culling off, in my case it actually improved the fps when there is a lot of shit oncsreen (I'm cpu bottlenecked though)
@Smakenzi nah i tried everything, it was unplayable on 5600x 3070ti

Try turning GI off and shadows not on ultra

Getting enough spirit for all those passives are expensive
How do you get shock in this build? I dont get it
Archmage adds a crap ton of lightning damage when you have this much mana. This isn't a build you should do until you are high level with gear for it.
how can i search for the notable to spirit (timeless jewel) on the trade site?
You can't right now, it sucks. Just gotta manually look / livesearch.
whats the advantage of this over the popular spark build?
I don't enjoy the Spark playstyle, with this I can drop frost wall between myself and enemies to block their ranged moves and wall them off.
Going to finish your shotgun fireball first before i try this because i cannot envisage a world where they leave this as it is lol. Most of the pieces transfer across anyways apart from the neck.
That's why I made the shotgun build first, though if you can fit it I do recommend grabbing a Snakepit.
They will not nerf it before Dec 31, so you do have time to play it.

Is there a way to search mods on the darkness jewels that I can't figure out with my tiny brain.

That spirit diamond costs a fortune
No staff with the sigil of power on weapon swap btw ? Seems like an obvious boss damage addition.

How do you instill splitshot?
Using the correct distilled emotions (alt on the tree to check).
Hm.. i'm kinda hard stuck on inding the timeless jewel lol any idea?

@Tenkiei ouch.. it is what it is i guess
Might as well get a corrupted helm 1st~
Thanks alot
You're welcome! I'm sure GGG will fix it soon but this is definitely one of the more frustrating rough edges for me from the early access.
What is happening when your health turns purple?
(Im assuming chaos damage that isnt actually hurting you)
That's what I'm assuming too but I haven't looked into it because I don't seem to be taking damage.
@Tenkiei glad we're thinking the same thing then. I've tried looking for info on it to no avail 🤷♂️
My PS5 Pro it’s screaming every time fireball hits something lol
I mean, GGG is on break, I think it's almost guarantee Archmage takes a hit when they come back in the office.
Pros and cons comparing with spark?
Pros and cons with spark;
Pros - Actually Fun, unlike Spark.
Cons - Less able to 1-shot bosses in high end gear.
It could apply to both builds, but hence we have tight corridor maps mostly, spark seems really a build made for poe2 mapping.
Don't forget the Con that the visual clutter is much worse with fireball/frostwall 😂 it is satisfying though!

I think the trick here is to obviously have +5 support skills and the gems over level 20 plus to have over 5k mana..the more mana you more dmg
😮💨maybe someday not today with the economy i doubt someday aswell lol
You can get fork on suport for fireball
You can, but it comes with a harsh damage penalty so Snakepit is the better way to add fork.
Too bad they are going to nerf that. I wanted to play that with spark but it's going to get deleted in a couple of weeks.
I suspect the core of Frost Wall / Fireball survives the nerfs to archmage since it's viable even without (but a lot stronger with).
Mmm I don't really see them nerfing the baseline spark/archmage build. Maybe a couple of versions like the Front loaded damage version, sure.. bit not with everlasting gaze etc
What a boring game this has already become. ARPG is a cooked genre.
