I fell in love with deserts when I spent 9 months at the British Military base in Shahjah, but I was blessed by being able to spend 7 months away from base in the desert including a trip over the mountains and on to Muscat and Nizwa.A truly wonderful time. I just spent 2 days there, then did 2 days in Petra and was going to spend another 2 days elsewhere in Jordan, but went back to wadi rum instead. It's magical there
