Jon, my father is Police Officer Geoff Fairbanks and to this day he still talks about you! I showed him this video and I’ve never seen him smile so big.
I watched 9/11 unfold from my 6th grade window in New Jersey, this day made me realize Policing is my calling in life. Almost 10 years of service, I don't regret being in the boots that I wear !! Thank you, Will, your story gives me the strength I need to do this job !
Thank you for your service. I too was in 6th grade on Long Island on 9/11 and found out from a lunch aide that the towers were hit bc my friends dad worked in the towers at the time. She came up to him and said “something happened in the city and when you hear about it, just know your dad stayed home today.” We didn’t know what that meant at the time aside from not being allowed outside to play handball at recess bc of the lockdown but man I’ll never forget those words. I now work for the port authority on the maintenance side but I commend and tip my hat to you as an LEO
I was in 4th grade in queens, my teacher worked in that black building next to the towers and she was losing her shyt cause of the friends and family she new in that building.
@@staytrue5307fair point, but this one is actually underrated. Personally im on board with most Nic Cage movies are horrible but WTC is an exception that tells the events well enough
“Those terrorist through me are touching another generation of Americans.” 1:55:16 Stand out quote for me. Thank you Jon and Will for this. Solid conversation.
This guys outlook and the things he said in the beginning made me tear up. Be a good person and stand up for people when you can, regardless of anything else.
What an incredible man. Not only for what he survived, but his ability to face his mental health and get help is astounding. A lot of men can’t face that. God bless him
This interview was so powerful. Will is an amazing and humble guy, and his message is important. I'm so glad he shared not only his and John McLoughlin's story but also the stories of the guys they lost that day. Their stories are just as important and I'm glad someone was able to talk about them.
Mr. Jimeno, you are a very wise man. I am 62 years old and have lived through my share of tragedy. I have found that the tragedy has brought a real sense of empathy and the need to show love and kindness to others. You are a really good person!❤❤❤
No matter how many times I have listened to will tell he’s story I never ever get tired of listening. It’s an incredible story, Thank you Will🙏🏼 I’m from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and I remember that day, my mother pick me and my sister from school early that day. I was 5 years old and I remember vividly watching both towers on fire on TV and my mom crying, my dad was on a Business trip in Miami that day. At that age I was worried about my dad getting back safe. I can’t imagine how people with family members felt knowing they were working that day in those towers! Rip to all the heroes and citizens that lost there lives that day🙏🏼
I do have to say this: so many officers of law enforcement are evil today, it makes it hard to differentiate the good ones. We killed a million Iraqis and wasted the lives of beautiful young souls on both sides. To be frank, the “terrorist” that caused 9/11 didn’t even reside in Iraq, we destroyed a prosperous nation on whim that ended up being false. WE KILLED 1 MILLION INNOCENT IRAQI’S AND DESTROYED THEIR COUNTRY AND THEN ACTED LIKE LEAVING WAS A BENEVOLENT ACT. This is specifically for the first 15 minutes of the pod, I have the utmost respect for this guy and the sacrifices his companions made that day.
That was profound. What an incredible story. It was a terrible tragedy but I’ve never seen our country as united as we were after 9/11. I miss that unity. God bless America.
Hello, Will. I wanted to say first that I remember when they rescued you from the wreckage. My mother was at the Pentagon on 9/11 and I watched everything I could as I had a personal stake in it. I still watch all of the things regarding 9/11 throughout the year. I want to thank you for ALL of your service to our Country. Currently, I am 51 years old and I work as a Substance Abuse Counselor for homeless male Veterans. I wanted to say that you actually can overcome PTSD. We can't erase our history, but through work with a Trauma Therapist, self-care, education, self-advocacy, etc...we can reach a place of PTSD Growth. (Which it seems you may have reached that point.) We do not have to "suffer" from these events forever. THERE IS HOPE. 💙💙💙 Thank you for continuing to inspire and educate. May God bless you and yours always.
Absolutely heartbreaking, but riveting story. Thank you for your service, Will and thank you for keeping the memories alive of those who have passed on.
Unbelievable experience, amazing story about that day and what it was really like, but it's true that the country and all people came together in unity!!!God Bless all!!!!
I was starting my senior year in Forbes Road High School and was on my way back from McConnellsburg School District. When I heard of the tragedy unfolding, I had to show my school badge in order to get in the school because they were in a lockdown. But hearing Will Jimeno's story really inspires me. Now that I'm 41 and working at a convenient store in McConnellsburg and working the overnights, I have seen some weird people come in at night. Some who don't go to bed at night. But now, in days, we have our State Troopers stop by just to check on us, and we always give them free coffee or fountain soda, and we tell them to stay safe. Thank you, Will Jimeno, for your story, and it's amazing how you and John Mclaughlin survived both buildings of the World Trade Center. God bless you and your family 🇺🇲
Im so thankful for you doing this podcast with a real true hero Will Jineno sorry if I misspelled last name !! He's a true inspiration and I have PTSD he helped me so much and his faith just reinforced me in my faith!! God bless him his beautiful family, john and his family also to all of the heros lost that day and their family we all should listen to them and never forget!!! Stop the hate LOVE IS MORE POWERFUL
Will's dad sounds like a good man when I was younger if I did something wrong I'd get hit too and it was always explained why and what I did and I tell you i grew up to know right and wrong and it has never affected my relationship with my parents one single bit in fact it made me a much better man. I also want to say that I am happy that survivors like will are openly out there telling their story not only of that day but of their lives before and after and finally thank you john for this interview 🙏🏻
Wow , what a story. But the part that got to me the most was when he said about almost throwing the shoe and stopping himself... we are all human. We just have to be a little better everyday ❤
My mother went to Highschool with Christopher Amoroso. She said he seemed like a solid guy. So cool to see an actor I respect protray someone that hits close to home. Glad Will is able to carry his legacy by telling his story and also spreading the message of respect and being nice to others.
Very inspiring message of resilience and courage from Will. About the cameraman who was filming at The PAPD command center, I believe it was Evan Fairbanks rather than the Naudet brothers. The video is available on RUclips.
The timestamps in the extended description do not match up to the video. "Introduction and Will's background" is the first 37+ minutes. (He has some interesting stories to tell.) Will is asked to share the details about his job and his day at 37:55
John. Please reach out to him from the family of Firefighter Andrew Brian Jordan. Send our love PLEASE. We lost my uncle there. I saw things at 7 years old that nobody ever should see there at ground zero. Please please thank him for all he did to try and help. Tell him that we love him. Thank you.
I know, the people jumping was the most horrifying event of the horrifying events that day. God Bless Cheif Pfeiffer, he tried to announce on the PA System in the Towers to "Please, hold on, if tou can, we're on our way up to help you", but no one ever heard it. It's heart breaking.
Defending your father hitting you makes you sad, your parent should never hit you no matter what, because it also shows that your parent has a tendency to be violent and is capable of it, the fact he’s defending it makes me think he hasn’t processed it and is normalising it 😢
Crazy. While these folks laid under a building, our politicians are somewhere playing golf plotting the next war…. This is why you never fall in love with politics or a politician. Bless these bros man . What a powerful story. 👏 9/11 Never Forget ❤
I don't hate specific nationalities. What I hate are the criminals in every nationality. 🇨🇦 absolutely love your channel. If ever in alberta canada hit me up we can ride.😊bring bam bam my puppy would love him 😊
People weren't jumping out the windows for the heck of it. They were trying to get away from the fire. They weren't doing anything wrong. What were they supposed to do, stay there and burn alive?
Yes he played Christopher Amoroso. Another PAPD who was with Will and John but didn’t make it to the elevator shaft as tower 2 collapsed. He was murdered that day after helping numerous civilians out of the bldg. multiple times. Kept going back in time and time again after helping people out when the bldg collapsed. RIP to Chris 🙏🕊️
Great conversation. I'm a big fan of both of these men. However, I have some feedback for the production crew. The watermark at the bottom of the screen is fairly large and persists for the entire podcast. It's pretty obnoxious. I'd suggest moving it to the bottom-right corner and making it about 50% smaller.
100% great episode. I am wondering if yall could get the actor of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption, Rob Wiethoff on the podcast. He seems like a down to earth guy. Plus Red Dead actually helped me stay clean as a teenager after I moved to Tennessee from Bama. Call me a nerd but I decided to play the game after work and on the weekends for a while. Rather than go out and...well, ya know.
Everyone knows where they were… 10th grade, first period, in Canada… the teachers wheeled TVs out… we didn’t understand or appreciate what we were seeing… in hindsight…My God.

Amazing interview been watching will since wtc movie came out. Jon is a classic fucking awesome actor. He played Chris Amoroso perfectly couldn’t ask for anyone better. Just so unique watching Will from real life and Jon from Hollywood converse 18 years after WTC movie. Just glad Will and Sgt JM are doing well even though there are rough times. God bless them. And fuck off all these conspiracy assholes and fraud 9/11/01 stories.
You can vote for what you believe is right AND be a conservative. Being conservative generally means holding values and beliefs that emphasize tradition, stability, and a cautious approach to change. Conservatives tend to prioritize personal responsibility, limited government, strong national defense, and the preservation of cultural traditions. There is often a focus on individual liberty while also maintaining order and stability in society. Political beliefs vary within any ideology, and what one person sees as "right" can be influenced by their values, experiences, and perspectives.

Jon, my father is Police Officer Geoff Fairbanks and to this day he still talks about you! I showed him this video and I’ve never seen him smile so big.
I dont care how many times I have heard this man's story. I will listen again every time.
Same!
Same
It's so moving and captivating. I'm the same when I watch Tim Brown as well

The movie (World Trade Center, which is based on Will Jimeno and John McLoughlin) is highly underrated.
I saw it in the theater! Michael Pena!
Why is everything underrated these days 🙄
@@staytrue5307fair point, but this one is actually underrated. Personally im on board with most Nic Cage movies are horrible but WTC is an exception that tells the events well enough
I love that movie. Cry everytime.
I seen the movie multiple times, and I try to watch it on the day of 9/11 to pay respects as a brit to the lives lost on that day
Goosebumps. This should be shown in schools
Agreed!
My neighbor was a Port Authority police officer, his brother FDNY. They both died in 9-11. RIP Langone brothers.
Must have sucked massively when you realized neither of them were coming home.

First time hearing of Will Jimeno’s story. What a Hero. What a motivating story. Proud to hear his Colombian American roots like me. God bless.
Watch the movie "world trade Center"
Amazing episode. This podcast is so heavily underrated. Keep up the great work Jon

What an inspiring individual
I work as an officer at the BT now, and the way he describes his day is the exact same as mine daily. Crazy how it all changed in a split second.
