The Aquarium Rescue Unit at the Jacksonville Jazzfest. Oteil Burbridge-Bass, Kofi Burbridge-Keys, Paul Henson-Vocal, Jimmy Herring-guitar, Sean O'Rourke-Drums
I was lucky to see them in 1995 when they opened for Blues Traveler. I wrote them off because they had such a silly name... until they started playing - my jaw was on the floor the whole time. I will always remember that. No surprise Oteil, Jimmy and Jeff Sipe went on to bigger things. In 2015, I was on military orders in Augusta, Ga. and happened to be staying at the same hotel as Widespread Panic. I was able to meet Jimmy Herring. I sat down with him in the front of the hotel and talked to him for at least 20 minutes. Probably could have spent an hour talking to him but I wanted to respect his time. He is once of friendliest and nicest dudes in the world.
They just completely tore this up. Everything about this song is talent. When the song kicks in from the intro it's just one of those "holy shit" moments.
this is prolly the best band of all time, for real - I really wish they ALL still played together, the recent Aquarium Rescue Unit tour was GREAT but this ... this is just PURE FIRE.
No doubt and although the singer is amazing, still to this day. The band was even better with Colonel bruce Hampton. I followed this band around, in my college years. Really great people in person too.
He’s gone on to better place but we rockin with ya down here in your remembrance . Save me a spot bro ! Right behind the biggest speaker they have up there !
That Bass Lines are soo fast and soo Powerful they roll over you like a F***in Train God i just dicovered this Band 1 Week ago and i allready Love them
Saw these guys right after Col. Bruce parted ways with them. "Mamakin's" in Boston, MA, circa '96-'97. those years are kinda a blur...But that show was AWESOME!!! Gibb Droll opened up. cool lineup.
WOW!!!! These guys kill. I had heard the band name before but this is the first time I've heard them play. I was expecting something like The Grateful Dead but they are more like Mahavishnu Orchestra. I'm impressed.
I saw these guys at Irving Plaza in NY for this tour in the mid 90s. My roommate at the time introduced me to this band and I was blown away. They were phenomenal live. I picked this album up right after that show. This band should have been huge, they were so amazing.
This is a really really Special Band the Mix of Jazz & Bluesrock is Perfect and very unique I wish their CD s would be pressed again. I can only find them used on amazon.
The difficult thing is to find your personal talent and not every talent serves Mankind I think its very important to encourage the talents of your children if you have some ( please forgive my horrible english )
Drummer is the source here. He gives the ground to the rest, the beat, the space, the move. About guitar licks? you need reasons, if you don't have any, there is nothing to play except fooling around
@TheAmazingMorse You could ve just said Hand-Made-Music by Real Musicians By the Way i just discovered them 3 days ago by surching for Oteil Burbridge and i must say this is the Best Blues Rock- Jazz Fusion i heard in 5 years Rock N Roll and Jazz will never Die ( at least thats what i hope and believe )
That band actually hasn't really existed for 15 years, in the form you see on these videos. The do, however, occasionally play in "original" form (w/Col. Bruce Hampton on vocals, gtr, Jeff Sipe on drums, w/Jimmy and Oteil.
Does anyone know where you can find the lyrics for this song? After the first line "All your pigs are gathered on the farm now..." it is impossible to understand the lyrics other than a few words here and there.
@HIGG13XD Nor does Lady GaGa care about Talent XD Talent is something you get from Hard Work & hours uppon hours of practise on your Instrument And i doubt Lady GaGa ever got Lessons from a vocal coach She doesnt even deserve the Word Lady before her name

Otiel is always entertaing but Jimmy Herring is the greatest funk blues fusion player
For those who prefer their music performed by musicians rather than machines, dancers, or pinups.

Drummer is the source here. He gives the ground to the rest, the beat, the space, the move.

Jesus! Otiel is positively destroying that bass. What a monster! :D
Jimmy Herring before he fought the Balrog and returned to Middle Earth.

Incredible live show. Is it just me, or does the drummer kinda look like Getty Lee?
This sound like a pearl jam in a fusion manner .. i never thought jimmy herring was this rock O_o . Cool band btw
yeah, he is soooo great. Also underrated
Michael Alexander He is not underrated just not very widely known.
But Derek Trucks for example stated him as one of his Guitar Heroes
Yup not very widely known is the correct words :)
I really want to see him duet with Steve Morse. That would be amazing :D
Michael Alexander Also look up Jimmy Herrings Band Project Z they made 2 CDs one in 2003 & 2004 with the amazing Jeff Sipes on drums
Thanks for the info :D

That band actually hasn't really existed for 15 years, in the form you see on these videos. The do, however, occasionally play in "original" form (w/Col. Bruce Hampton on vocals, gtr, Jeff Sipe on drums, w/Jimmy and Oteil.

I thought that was Jeff Sipes on drums ?? I wonder what happen to Sipes... I live near Atlanta and I guess I lost info on him.....
What ever happened to Paul Henson? Great voice!
Sadly, Paul passed away, either earlier this year or late last year.
@@paulkelly154 Thank you for the info. very sad. Where can I hear additional work of his?
I'm not sure. I know he been in other bands before and after ARU, but I really don't have any information about those groups. Sorry.
I have duplicates of some of his work with Aru and others . If ever interested I ain’t hard to find . Lil bro
Ungodly performance!
Sean is the groovinator X3
Does anyone know where you can find the lyrics for this song? After the first line "All your pigs are gathered on the farm now..." it is impossible to understand the lyrics other than a few words here and there.

Talent is something you get from Hard Work & hours uppon hours of practise on your Instrument
And i doubt Lady GaGa ever got Lessons from a vocal coach
She doesnt even deserve the Word Lady before her name
Does anyone know where I can find 'In A Perfect World'? I can't find it really anywhere :/
awesome jam, but I didn't know Forest Gump played such a wicked guitar
Ym8ev. I strongly disagree. Plenty of people slapping. Plenty and grooving. Too many to list here.
