Hey Harvey, I have some trouble finding the right routing diagram or more precisely I am unsure what the top row of connectors is for. I have been looking for bluetooth upgrades and came across a connector that should be plugged into the upper part, but I am a little confused now since your upper row isn't connected to anything. If you have any helpful insight I really would appreciate you! :)
Sorry to hear you are struggling with the stereo, but I really can't help you as that is not my field and have very little expertise with what does what. I'm sure there are guys on the web that could help, but I don't know any I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be of help here, maybe try try one of the chatrooms like briskoda or Skoda club. Net
When you turn the lights on the display lights up, but you still need to turn the unit on to see the display. I believe these all come with a security code, but not sure if the fabia ever came with different early ones without. :-)
Hi Harvey. Really appreciate your videos. Looked at the Pioneer DEH S420BT to replace my not working radio. The connectors are extended on wiring from the back of the Pioneer unit. Do you know if there is enough room in the bay to accomodate the leads.
The area at the back of the unit is very tight. The rear plastic could be removed, but still not much room. you will have to measure it to see if it will fit.
@@HatBoyHarvey Hi Thanks for your reply and video link which gave me the solution. Really appreciate your response. To access the edges of the radio take out the dummy buttons and the small trims at the side of the radio. This exposes enough of the top and side edges of the radio to grip and pull on. Using a spudger tool and some persuasion finally released the radio. Success! One more question on this one, I am assuming replacement radio does not affect the alarm (blinking light on default radio).
This radio unit takes up a single DIN sized unit, but if you remove the tray or drawer underneath there is space for a double DIN sized unit. so I guess if one is available to fit either of these then it should be possible. Aftermarket ones often use various size bezals to fit. if a newer Fabia has a player with mp3 player then it may be possible to fit it, but I have never done that so I don't know. Thanks
The code is in the front of Your Skoda car radio manual you should have been given when you bought the car and is linked with the long code number printed on the radio unit itself. If you don't have the manual with the code then the main dealer can supply this a code. it can also be obtained from specialists radio shops or on the internet for a small fee I believe. Somtimes users write the code on the unit itself so it is worth taking it out to check, assuming it isn't functioning in the first place that is:-)
@@HatBoyHarvey My car was brought from Germany only with the Fahrzeugbrief with whom I registred the car to the police and I don't have the radio manual...I ckecked closely to see if there is a 4 digits code on the radio and there are only long alphanumeric characters...Probably I will check my local Skoda dealer for the code. thanks for the quick response and for the info :D

Can you explain how to get a cd that is stuck inside??? Thanks!
Cheers 😀
When you say ‘disconnect the battery’ is it enough to only disconnect the negative charge?
Disconnect the negative lead on the battery terminal and move it to one side.

Did you manage to do it?
Stupid questions but does the display light up when the lights are on and does every radio unit has security code?

@@ReggieChas Great to hear that you sorted the radio and yes I don't believe a new radio effects anything, but it is not my field

Would an alpine CD player fit in my fabia mk1?
I'm sure it would, see reply to zuniprince. Alpine units sound great.
