The inception of 'No Christmas' starting with that timid readout of the first lyrics by Rachel Kaly last year, led by Tim to keep those lyrics going with such unbelievable encouragement and warmth and contribution from everyone there that day... to the fact that it's not only a banger but is now (hopefully) a new song we'll hear every year is just... perfection.

I was watching a news story the other day that showed footage of some of these "drones," and one of them was most definitely just a regular airplane (the wings were clearly visible, and it had 4 bright lights - one at the head, one on the tail, and one on the end of each wing) and another was quite clearly just a helicopter (you could even see the rotation of the blades forming a "circular" shape that people thought was so crazy because they couldn't figure out what that "circle" was). I'm pretty sure that the majority of these "drones" are just normal planes/helicopters, while the rest are likely real drones but are just normal civilian drones. The first time I saw a drone near my neighborhood, I was weirded out for a bit until I realized what it was, and I think that's what we're seeing in this case - people who haven't seen drones in-person before are just overreacting. There are almost a million civilian drones that are currently registered with the FAA, and there are probably over a million more that aren't registered. Plenty of people own drones, so it shouldn't be surprising to see like 10-20 drones (or even more) flying around in the vicinity of a state like NJ (and most other states) on any given day. People like to fly their drones around, just for fun - or to take pictures/video of an area. Why the fuck would most of these drones have bright-ass lights all over them?? Wouldn't you want the drone to stay hidden if you're flying it around for nefarious purposes? Even if this is some kind of concerted effort that's meant to freak people out, it's probably just random drone owners on 4Chan who all decided to go out and fly their drones at the same time. The person flying the drone needs to be physically near it in order to keep the connection, so it's not like Russia or China could be doing this from long range or something. It's people from within the US, and it sounds like most of these drones have been spotted near residential areas (you know, where people - such as drone owners - live). At this point, I'm pretty convinced that this whole story started when some old ladies happened to see some normal civilian drones flying near them and freaked out because they hadn't seen a drone before - and now all of these other reports are just more people seeing more civilian drones (or just seeing planes/helicopters and thinking they're drones because people are fuckin stupid). And I wouldn't be surprised if more and more drone owners heard about this story and decided to fly their drones too, just because it's fun to fuck with people.
