      I don’t like it. Before you had to make your way through all those vets to get minutes. Now they get immediate minutes and therefore have the stats to back it up so people think they’re actually good when those vets are just as good but become “has-been” for GMs because they’re not the brand-new toys anymore… Yes, well, if the generational turnover keeps speeding up, the fans are gonna care less and less about the NBA. This is gonna turn like AAU with just bad plays after bad plays. The NBA administration itself is at fault for facilitating the offense in order to get more highlights to showcase on social media. People are turning off from soccer TV games in Europe because now everything is just highlights. Same thing could happen to the NBA with the TV rights bubble eventually exploding and leaving franchises with way less money. More players going overseas and there you’ll have a problem.

    It's all about the contracts. Teams want to play less. The NBA was the last bastion of guaranteed contracts -- they've been chipping away at that for awhile and now you're starting to see weird contracts like they have in the NFL. Josh Okogie's trade exception contract. Kenyon Martin Jr.'s deal in Philly. Hartenstein's 3rd year is a club option. The guys at the top, many of them the "best" player on their teams but not good enough to make their team contenders (Trae Young, Ingram, LaMelo) are making way too much money in those slots, there's not very much left over for the middle-tier contracts that a lot of vets would make. We'll see if the new CBA helps dial that back a little; we saw Jalen Brunson take a lot less to bring in his Villanova guys. I don't see how guys like Ingram or Randle get bigger paydays on their next contracts. And the guys that have, like Siakam, will ultimately end up hurting their team's finances in the long haul. The money needs to be spread out more. Also, the NBA could eventually put a provision in place where vet minimum salaries don't count against the cap at all, based on some criteria, even for apron teams -- with restrictions of course.

    He is out of the league cause he isn't any good. He had two seasons his whole career where he averaged more than 9 points a game and he is a SHOOTING guard. And his DAD was coach of those two seasons were he averaged more than 9 points, so his dad was clearly funneling him more shots. He was on 7 teams in 9 years. The jig is up on Austin, he isn't an NBA caliber player, he never really was. You had your shot, stop complaining. Just call Doc, he could probably get you a two-way contract for the Bucks and you can work on your game in the G-League and prepare for Summer League 2025.

    This is why the league will be expanding, first by 2 teams, and then another 2 within ten years. By doing this they will grab 8-15 of the top non-nba players with each expansion. The league will also probably continue to boost the G league so it becomes more of a veteran league than it currently is.

    Nah, vets just need to accept less money as their production drops…look at Lebron’s salary…it’s outrageous!
    What about PG? Is he really worth $50m?
    Where are the vets like Duncan and Dirk who took MLEs to help the team win instead of twisting teams arms for max contracts after the age of 33-34?

      Lebron's production hasn't dropped and asking millionaires to take pay cuts to help out billionaires is ridiculous. And Dirk was playing for the max when the Mavericks won a title and when he took a pay cut the team didn't get any better.

    Contracts are an investment. What is the growth plate for a 32 year old journeyman for a team compared to a flyer that my turn into a value contract or appreciate in skill? Yes maybe teams can be a little zealous in thinking rotation guys can be filled with youth but its operating with knowing one hit can put your whole cap sheet into context. I'm a Kings fan, the bet on Keon Ellis has likely led him into the starting line up. His deal has created a lot of flexibility cap wise, and I'll be happy for him when he gets generational wealth his next deal.
    IDK I also think Austin should also just have a bit of a collective mindset on this. I'm not trying to single him out, im sure its hard to be passed over and have to say goodbye in a way to what you've devoted your life towards. But if this is it he's made almost 60 million over his NBA career, comes from some level of family wealth and stability. Be happy for paving an opportunity and for people chasing a dream and garnering life changing wealth, often completely changing their families situation for their kids kids. I think that should be at the core of the players fraternity, it's so hard to get to the league shout out the collective and your part of it my guy.

    The new cba has squeezed out the nba middle class,with teams building like the suns where you're either on the max or minimum. Or teams just have to let their role players walk in free agency to avoid the apron like the nuggets .Teams with mid level player contracts go over the apron, and then lose their mid level exception, which was previously used to get good nba roler players. I think players are more open to playing over seas now than before because they can make more than the minimum in the nba

  • @sticknaw1
    @sticknaw1 18 дней назад

    As long as the NBA continues to be the league w the most money it'll be fine. I don't see role players going to Europe drastically improving the euro game. That may have been the case in the past; basketball being the second most popular world sport (for decades) is the main reason for the level changes. Tall and talented European athletes have a much more focused and linear path.

  • @Jebedia2236
    @Jebedia2236 17 дней назад

    He's right so many solid veterans are getting pushed out of NBA for bad young players because of "what if". Cedi Osman is another one off the top of my head who just left NBA. Evan Fournier, Pat Bev, etc. Thats the only reason Cam Reddish has been in the league for 5 years is cause he's young

    • @t4d0W
      @t4d0W День назад

      I mean Reddish's current floor is still solid enough an athletic wing defender with a limited offensive ceiling who comes off the bench. Bev and Fournier now will get similar roles, have a higher cost but are liabilities against defensive matchups due to size (Bev) and the inability to stay in front of their man (Fournier).
