How to make this box!! Using Lightburn & My C02 Laser!!!

The “flash” is the laser hitting thick glue spots within the plywood.

Ive found when ive been cutting out some ply wood it has a string core inside it that sometimes burns hotter and flashes when it cuts through i only have a 20w diode but that could be the cause of it.

That would make sence as this isn’t what they call laser ply just a standard 3mm ply from the big stores and I have noticed that string core you mentioned thanks for the tip 👍🏽 and thanks for watching! Matt

What machine are you using? Did you use air assist for the engraving? Great work!

Thanks, I have an 80w red and black Chinese machine I have a very small amount of air comming out the nozzle just to protect the lense and full air assist when cutting thanks for watching!

Staining before gluing has no effect on glue?
That spare part was a Harley beer coaster waiting to happen.

Hi John, to be honest I would and should have glued them first then stained, it did glue but I had to redo some parts as it wasn’t as good as it would have been if done prior to the stain, and yeh I didn’t think of that haha coaster would have been cool!

Hi, for this one I just used a gel glue called Tarzan grip but any wood glue would do the job, and better to glue the box together and then stain it. Thanks for watching. Matt
