Original Nier made me cry and ponder things more than any other videogame in existance. Maybe the gameplay isnt as high quality. But even now the story, music and world of variety present in Nier Gestalt/Replicant is worth stepping back in time to experience the Swansong game made by Cavia.
Neir is one of the few game series to make me cry. The others are persona and danganronpa. Though danganronpa was cause I got too attached to a character so does it really count?
Can we just agreed that Square Enix makes music that hits us all in the feels (Final Fantasy, Nier, Kingdom Hearts, Drakengard universes). This cover has the same power as the original😢❤

I'm new to NieR. I'd heard about it before but I had little interest in playing it... and then I saw the notification for this and thought "why not". And then after hearing this beautiful song (full of emotion in a language that isn't even real!) I decided to listen to the others. And I felt the emotion in them too. In the story that was there, waiting to be discovered. This song has made me want to play a game that I had little interest in playing, to dive into it's world, to find it's story. Thank you.

I have never heard of NieR back in 2010. Around 2012, I went gamestop and saw this game and decided to get it for 5 bucks on the 360 (best decision I've made as a 15 year old). Played it, the combat was kinda wonky, but the story was getting interesting and music was what made me stayed. Every time I pass Devola sitting outside playing the Song of Ancient, I stand there for the first loop of the song. Once I heard Automata was coming, instant pre-order. Loved every single reference they made from the first NieR. I'm glad that a lot of people enjoyed Automata, but I wish they would enjoy it as much as I did if they played the first game before going blind into Automata.
How did I miss this the day it came out?! Lizz you definitely did great with this cover, I could feel all the feels coming out when listening to this song and now I need to hide myself at work so nobody sees me like this. Lol

I never played the other Nier games or Drakengard (even though I plan to) but I know of the lore and when this song played in the game during the quest with Emil I cried my eyes out xD. Listening to you sing this, I feel the tears coming back! Lovely job
Okay maybe it's because I'm a language teacher, but I utterly adore how Lizz pronounces all the words in this, especially the way she pronounces the "ch" as a hard K-like noise. I don't know what language all this is but god damn, I love the effort put into pronunciation here. Really makes the whole thing feel a lot more ethereal, which works for such a soft tune like anything out of NieR.
It's "chaos language", a constructed language Emi Evans made. It tries to imagine what it would be like if five or six existing language (Japanese, French, German, English, Spanish, Russian?) were smashed together and aged 1,000 years.
