Ensemble Pro does not consider audio inputs on the additional machines, so this is not possible. Some audio interfaces can be connected to the same machine, like the ones from RME for example. Maybe worth checking out. - Ben
s anyone using Halion 7 with VEP? In its standalone version there is no issue, but using it with VEP it is always claiming missing samples even if they are located where they should be, and over 42 instances of Halion in VEP, the Steinberg plug in starts to loose its saved configurations. Is it because we work on Apple M2 machines?
It's a virtual instruments host and mixing/routing engine, that allows to host virtual instruments outside of your DAW, so you don't have to reload your instrument each time you switch to a different project - the instruments stay loaded! Also, it allows to off-load the processing to a different machine in your network, or even multiple machines, to save resources on your DAW machine. @@ViennaSymphonicLibrary I have Cubase 12 and Spitfire's BBC SO Pro. I used a template from Spitfire to load their VST in Cubase. How would I intigrate VE Pro 7 with them to save load times etc? Is there a VE template that can just plug in to an already set up configuration as above? How does it work?
hi! thank you for this. Do you know if using this will cause any subtle distortion in sound, compared to just loading an instrument directly on a track of my DAW without Ensemble Pro? thanks!
@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary so is Vienna Ensemble the demo version of Vienna Ensemble Pro? I just got it installed on my system and there is zero information on Vienna Ensemble that DOES NOT HAVE "Pro" in the title :(
this is interesting. I have worked with IP audio before, but it was at a broadcast facility. I wonder what benefits coul someone get with this? I appreciate any help. Thank you!
You can move virtual instruments out of your DAW, this has multiple advantages: You dont have to re-load instruments when switching projects. VEP is super optimized for multi-threading to take full advantage of your CPU. You get a great set of FX plugins, and you can use your FX plugins as well - great for creating sub-mixes. You get a lot of great features - automation, 32-bit plugins in a 64-bit DAW on Windows, enable/disable certain instruments in your VEP template via automation.... Download and check out the demo here: www.vsl.co.at/Vienna_Software_Package/Vienna_Ensemble_Pro - the only limitation: saving is disabled.
@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary very interesting!!! i will probably check it out. I like the ide aof a better cpu performance i am not familiar with multithreading but i will find out what that is after this headache is gone. Thanks again guys!!!
What about VEP on Mac M1 with 16 GB RAM?
Run into the M1 compatibility issue too... :/
Hi, do I need an ethernet cable if I'm using VE Pro internally meaning with only one computer?
Is it possible to use two computer with two different audio interfaces in order to have more lines in? Thanks.
Ensemble Pro does not consider audio inputs on the additional machines, so this is not possible.

@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary Thank you, still remains a good product, I'll check the demo. Cheers.

Hi! The data is transmitted and processed digital, so there is no difference in sound quality compared to hosting it directly in your DAW. - Ben
@@ViennaSymphonicLibrary Awesome!!! Thanks!
I am confused. is this free or paid? What are the restrictions of the Demo version???
Vienna Ensemble Pro is paid. The keyless demo can't save the project (including the DAW plugin). There are no other restrictions. - Ben
