I'm wondering if you guys could react to the Netflix series Jurassic world camp cretaceous season 1-5 it takes place during the 2015 and before the events of fallen kingdom it's so good and it's final season just released yesterday.
You have to get approval for every character from every studio. It shows how competitors know when one is successful, they all are. And I’m sure the royalty fees were good $$$
I hate to imagine the hurtles they had to go though to get everything they did. As much as I understand why copyright exists, it’s unfortunately one of the big reasons we don’t get a lot of big crossovers very often
The eyebrow drop at 12:06 absolutely _SLAYING_ Eric is too good. I love how shocked all his reactions were in this, but that one stands out among them and cracks me up every time.
I love that reaction too and is why I hunt down for others' reactions; I cracked up so much at that when I first watched it, too. That and the sudden accent drop just killed me 😂
Ugly sonic is such a meme. Like obviously his existence is one giant joke but at the same time it has some surprising depth. Like this man seems to hold no ill will towards the “real” sonic for robbing him of a film franchise and a big break in his career. Not even the fans either, he’s at a convention after all. It’s oddly wholesome.
This movie was such a surprise. I, like Eric was expecting a charming but inoffensive modern take on Chip n Dale What we got is a modern who framed Roger rabbit but full of 4th wall breaks and insane cameos. I LOVE IT
If this is Roger Rabbit then so is the Smurfs movie Please stop comparing shlock to master pieces just because they are a mix of cartoon and live action Heck Roger Rabbit with its 25 years still looks great while here the animation is so bad, a kid RUclipsr can do better, they didn't give a damn
The fun thing with "Ugly Sonic" is that he isn't the same model that everyone hated. They basically made they own version of ugly Sonic, called him Ugly Sonic, and were able to get around a lot of the red tape stuff.
From what I understand the creators were going to use just Disney characters but they felt the world wouldn’t feel truly realistic with just them. And it seems the Disney legal team came to the rescue leasing an absolutely impressive number of rights. Kudos, it did make the world feel real.
What happened to the actor who played Peter Pan (Bobby Driscoll) who had been a child actor for Disney from the mid 40’s through the release of Peter Pan is rather sad as after the film he started going through puberty and unfortunately they basically tossed him aside and he went missing for several years until they found his body in an abandoned building dead from a drug overdose.
The worst part? The people who found his body had no idea who he was; he wasn't properly identified until after his family reported him missing. He went from Disney's favorite star to John Doe in less than a decade.
@@kidclefspeare I want to like this comment as a thanks for the information, but it feels wrong, sorry. That is really sad though. If they haven't already, I hope Disney puts together a tribute video for him.
@@antispiral1159 Interpretation sure is weird. I'm glad I've watched this movie! It definitely was the best crossover Disney movie since "Who Framed Roger Rabbit!" It was hilarious from start to finish! 🤣
A fun and very head scratching behind the scenes fact about this movie is that Ugly Sonic was actually a backup plan. They originally wanted it to be Jar Jar Binks who was the sorta ugly and globally despised animated character, but Lucasfilms refused allowing them to use the character (actually don't think there is anything Star Wars in this). I just knew Eric would get a kick out of this haha It's always funny with Aaron knows what's coming because his face to us is hilarious. Wasn't expecting a spiritual successor to Who Framed Roger Rabbit but I loved the way they incorporated all the newer styles of animation that's come out since.
The kid who voiced Peter Pan back in the day, he got older and went back to Disney to see if they had any voice acting available and they turned him down, it's kinda crazy actually
Yep and they found his body later who OD. They couldn't identify his body so they gave him an unmarked grave until I believe some years later they found out who that body was but they don't remember where they buried him so they can no longer give him a proper burial.
How did Disney do this? Director Akiva Schaffer “It was a process. You don’t usually come out of a movie and want to thank the lawyers, but we genuinely owe the Disney lawyers for being team players." Parody law for some (Ugly Sonic) and 3rd party licensing for others.
I couldn't finish this reaction because I realized almost immediately that I absolutely needed to watch this movie first! Just the first few minutes of your reaction got me hooked.
Andy Samberg is like Ryan Reynolds in that they kinda play the same character all the time, and that character is basically just themselves turned up to 11, but it's so enjoyable I don't care and will happily watch it again and again
Also...there IS a Darkwing Reboot coming, thats pretty much a easter egg because if i remember correctly when Darkwing appeared in DuckTales (2017) a lot of people wanted Darkwing to get a reboot.
I really wish they would use the legacy voice actors like Jim Cummings, Corey Burton, Tress MacNeille etc more while we still have them. Tom Kane’s retirement was a sobering moment, we won’t have these legends forever!
when i was watching this movie i lrlly had to pause the scene when they are tied up in the truck. for like 2 minutes just looking at all the light rays bouncing off everything and how they interact with it. stunning work
My headcanon is that this movie takes place in the same world as Roger Rabbit, with "Main Street" being all that's left of Toon Town after all these years. This is particularly fitting since a big plot point in Roger Rabbit was that the implementation of the mass freeway system in LA was going to destroy Toon Town.
I loved that they recognized right away that the fly was dubbed by God from Lucifer!!!! I also saw the movie for the first time and laughed because his voice was so deep and then I looked at my brother and said to him "That's absolutely Lucifer's father"
I love how Eric catches on pretty early that this is a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-esque movie, yet still keeps getting surprised by all the different IPs, as if that wasn't something that also happened in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a Disney movie, distributed under Touchstone Pictures, a brand Disney used for their more mature, adult movies back in the day. Most of the cartoon characters in Who Framed Roger Rabbit are either properties from Disney or Warner Bros. (not Nickelodeon as stated by Aaron), but there are others as well. Betty Boop, for instance, is owned by Paramount.
The skid Row junkie cheese thing kind of reminds me of the episode of Chip 'N Dale's Rescue Rangers where they had another addiction episode. "Coo-Coo Cola." I'll never forget that jingle. Whoever made the Coo-Coo Cola song knew the formula, and knew all the kids watching it will come away singing that song. Wild the muppet, with the eyebrows, was played by Keegan Michael Key.
Awesome to see you react to more Disney content on the channel, besides just the Marvel and Star Wars content. Regarding the film, it was surprisingly good from not just the story but also the character cameos and Movie references that appeared. Literally, this film is a spiritual successor to _Who Framed Roger Rabbit?_ which funny enough we did had Roger Rabbit making a cameo in this film.
3:32 - That was Blaser from the original Transformers cartoon, he was the Autobot that turned into a cassette player to counter Decepticon Soundwave. The Transformers figures were originally owned by Takara Tomy (Japan) and Hasbro while the comics were owned by Marvel.
I loved The Disney Afternoon as a kid watching Ducktales, Chip n Dale, Darkwing Duck, etc. This is an interesting way to bring the show back but with a fun Roger Rabbit twist. And having The Lonely Island guys behind it means that you know it will be funny.
The backstory of Sweet Pete is a reference to the original voice actor of Peter Pan who was let go by Disney after he aged, and his life went downhill.
3:30 That transformers name is Blaster, he first appeared midway through the second season of the G1 animated series and was in 1986 The Transformers The Movie
Honestly, this was the delight of the year. I've been basically selling everyone I can on the idea of watching it, like "It's like ready player One, but good because the nostalgia things actually have a function." That's sad, while this is rated PG, I would definitely not call it a kids movie. I've also told every adult that I've tried to sell on the movie to maybe watch it first before showing their kids and make the judgment calls themselves, especially younger kids I could see them getting really freaked out by it like I was with Roger rabbit when I was little.
There is also the new D&D movie trailer just came out today starring Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez. It looks really good but is coming out in March 2023.
36:33 I actually forgot to ask this because that imagery is cursed even though I can’t stop looking at it: but who or what the hell is Phineas fused with? 😂 Is it roadrunner? And while we’re at it, we know Linda is doing fine, but what about Ferb, Perry, or Doofenshmirtz?
3:44 Yes! Yes he is an actual Transformer. His name is SoundBlaster, same gimmick as Soundwave only he's with the Autobots. That is his 1980's G1 design too.
At 3:31 that transformer is one of the ogs from G1 named Blaster, I pointed that out too when I saw this and was just as surprised as Eric when I saw him.
Iizuka from Sega and Sonic Team Developer since 1993 till today was asked about Ugly Sonics appearence in this movie. He said, they never asked Sega or Paramount for permission and they just did it. He was suprised and learned about this Cameo in Social Media after the release of the Chip n Dale Movie. At least, Sega is okay with it, he said.
Guys, Disney owns the film rights to Roger Rabbit! The original movie, since it was more adult oriented, was released under their Touchstone branch at the time!
I never watched chip n dale. I only know them as side characters in the disney classic shorts. Like the time Donald was picking apples. Or the christmas special. Or the time Chip n Dales tree got taken to a lumber yard and got turned into a dresser so they took all the furniture and tide it all up into a big stack where their stump was and made it their new tree
I saw the trailer and I was like what bat sh*t awesomeness is this!?!? And who ever is in charge of copyright/ properties should get some kind of award!!!!
The end credit scene in a way is a reminder to ppl about the new Darkwing duck series that’s also part of the new Ducktales reboot universe. If blind wave crew reads this and go “wait universe?” Yep. The new ducktales series have other characters from Darkwing duck, tailspin, goof troop, three caberellos and other classic cartoon shows in it. Extremely recommend you react to it one of these days since they did a good job making the show for old viewers and new viewers.
For the record, there is a Darkwing Duck reboot in the works. Disney TV Animation's been posting things about upcoming shows for a while and Darkwing Duck's been on there the past few times. No word yet on when it's coming but reboots like this and the 2017 DuckTales have inspired more attention to Disney Afternoon properties. Disney's even announced this past week that new comics based on Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles are being worked on right now.
Love this movie! I keep recommending it to everyone I can find. It would have been my vote in the poll but I missed it. So much fun watching everyone realize what this movie is!
13:53 Artifacting (noun): The emergence of visible or audible anomalies, created during the process or transmission of digital data such as photographs or video graphics.
I was so excited to watch this movie on Disney+ ever since the first trailer was released, and while I was watching this movie I couldn't stop laughing so hard! I can't believe that a lot of famous characters from many franchises that's not Disney related appeared in this movie, which is a brilliant touch. This movie is now one of my favorite Disney movies and is definitely something I recommend to everyone to watch!!!
I did a little research into the Ugly Sonic thing, apparently they couldn’t get permission, so what they did to get around copyright was to only referred to him as “Ugly Sonic” and changed up his look in little ways, like giving him a beer belly and what not!
I find it strange and funny that in one movie, Ugly Sonic went from being the most hated thing ever to being the most beloved thing ever. This is like a Zen riddle where you're not actually supposed to figure out the answer but you still want to because you're confused and curious
Disney basically just said "Screw it. We will chuck everything we own now into this movie. And anything we don't. Lets just see who will dare to sue us." They are untouchable now.

Duck Tales 2017 the Duck Knight returns a great episode for everyone who is a fan of Dark Wing Duck
5:02 Mc Skat Cat, Three Little Pigs & Roger Rabbit
38:47 Darkwing Duck!
It's funny that a disney movie have bunch DC and WB reference, and zero MCU characters
Aunt-Man, dude
And Tigra.

Artifacting (noun): The emergence of visible or audible anomalies, created during the process or transmission of digital data such as photographs or video graphics.
I’ve been waiting for Eric to do that Dale face again for at least 3 years😂
I love how they gave Peter Pan’s chimaera the Yzma laugh 😂
That wasn’t Yzma that was Cruella.
3:45 Is an actual character from the Transformers cartoon his name is Blaster
"Who Framed Roger Rabbit" meets "Ready Player One."
9:23 Superman: "Well, I can't say I expected this."
I find it strange and funny that in one movie, Ugly Sonic went from being the most hated thing ever to being the most beloved thing ever. This is like a Zen riddle where you're not actually supposed to figure out the answer but you still want to because you're confused and curious
That wasn't Franklin that was the turtle from the animated Robin Hood.
Disney basically just said "Screw it. We will chuck everything we own now into this movie. And anything we don't. Lets just see who will dare to sue us." They are untouchable now.
Chip n dale: multiverse of madness
Actually the turtle at the end is Toby Turtle from Robin Hood!
Yes! I didn’t think they’d ever do it.
I was freakin out when I saw Darkwing Duck and it's his OG voice actor too! Lets hope Darkwing is next to be revisited!
I love that they included tigra from Avengers United they stand
