- a tired, but quick, inability to hold fingers precisely on frets cover of "suzanne" by hope sandoval & the warm inventions ! i personally find her bavarian fruit bread album to be so affecting & beautiful, both sonically & lyrically.
unpopular opinion: i think hope's solo work with colm from mbv is better than anything mazzy star has ever released. yes, i know this may be blasphemy to some, but it's my truth & i confidently stand by it ..
also, i find "fade into you" so trite & overrated .. sorry .. but people need to fawn over their other records, other than so tonight that i might see !
just know that i was in a lot of pain & it was keeping me half-awake for this cover. i was having a little spike of inflammatory finger joint pain while switch between chords (i am fine now !) also meant to post this a while ago, but just didn't bc shyness

@@girlytragedy not a bad cover tbf although I think you are being a bit harsh on "so tonight that I might see". Sweet mary of silence and the title song are masterpieces of atmosphere imho. The ambient sheen on Bavarian fruit bread is nice but some of the songs are a bit of a mess. If you haven't heard them before I strongly recommend the albums "ask me tomorrow" by mojave 3, "Chelsea girl" by Nico, "colour green" by Sibylle Baieor and the first galaxie 500 album" today". @@foxgirl1822 i stand by my criticism of “so tonight..,” it has been solidified as the most overplayed & overrated 90s standard of dreampop ever. not that it’s a bad album by any means, i love it, it’s super popular for a reason, but bavarian is much more stripped down & sonically interesting to me than anything from mazzy star. this is just my opinion though. i’m not the biggest fan of mohave 3 & of course nico’s “chelsea girl” is a classic, along with the other albums you mentioned. again, please be nice before commenting. imagine if someone said something falsely about you?
