      I thought that would be #1. It was the moment when Shonda made it clear it was Grey’s show, not the Derick and Meredith story. It foreshadowed her ability to continue to carry the series after he died.

    The wall of women always makes me cry, it's so powerful. Plus i feel like Olivia's badass feminist moments could be a list all by itself.
    ''I am not a toy that you can play with when you're bored or lonely or horny. I am not the girl the guy gets at the end of the movie. I am not a fantasy. If you want me, EARN ME! Until then, we are DONE.''

      The bad thing about Shonda tho is that she's so focused on showing that her female characters can stand up for themselves and that they don't need anybody that she takes it to the extreme and most of the time creates really toxic relationships for them in general (but specially romantically) or she creates good relationships and ruins them later on

    I believe "sweet" girls should be here too. Feminism is equality, women allowed to choose for themselves. The kind of life they want for them selves. All the women mentioned in the list are conventionally bad ass. I believe Izzie should be here too. Speclly the time she stood for herself when Alex stole her patient.
    I believe the quote was "Using me as a doormat is one thing. Screwing with my career is another! I have been wiping your snot and covering your ass for weeks now. And all you've done is abuse me. And for a little while you get to do that because you're heartbroken and pathetic, and I'm a good friend. But it ends now. Get your own surgery and wipe your own snot."

    A reason beacuse I still hate Derek more than I love him is because he always "bullied" Amelia, and not only Amelia, Meredith too. He always was telling Amelia "you cant´t do this" or "you can´t do it better than me" when Amelia is an amazing surgeon and an amazing human being, and we all know that, and with Meredith hi did the same in a certain way when they started dating, before they got married, when Meredith decided not to move no Washington with Derek, etc.
    Because as Cristina said, you can´t let people eclipse what you need or what you want cause "he is very dreamy, but he is not the sun, you are"

      The tumor gave her the impulsivity to do it. Her brilliance is why she succeeded.

    • @arxdeath773
      @arxdeath773 4 года назад +2

      The Amelia moment is about a person who doubts herself and succeeds. I am not sure it’s a “feminist” moment, it had nothing to do with her being a woman, but being the shadow of Derek. she didn’t know she “had it in to succeed”, moments before she just asked Weber to call Derek because she couldn’t continue the surgery, and she was doubting herself every moment before the surgery “I have this sick feeling that (bla bla) will realize that I am not the other Dr. Shepherd but the wrong Dr. shepherd.”. I disagree with considering any success of a woman a feminist moment because a wide definition downgrades the meaning or achievement. The rest were indeed feminist moments because they involved the hurdles of being a woman in certain areas or industries or being the first of something. Bad number one pick.

    The #1 moment should have been when Mellie filibusters a vote against defunding Planned Parenthood. She was there for 8+ hours no food no water and she needed to use the lav but she stayed because it was a fight for women's reproductive rights. She correctly admonished the senior politicians who used discretionary funds to pay for private jets while screaming how social programs that help women should be cut for austerity. That should have been #1.
