    “I don’t draw good, I draw cartoons” I felt that.

    • @MarkFilipAnthony
      @MarkFilipAnthony 4 года назад +201

      Drawing isnt about style or accuracy, is about intended expression
      So if ur able to make cartoons with specific intended characteristics through shapes, movement and emotions: ur good at drawing.
      No u might not be good at drawing life-like, photgraphic or mimicing natural light, but that is just another drawing style.
      Like a guitar player sux at piano, but is really good at playing the guitar.
      So u are a good artist, in your own artform which in this case is the cartoon-style.
      Others really suck at that, and is "only" able to draw photgraphic and anathomical correct drawings, but that doesnt make them good cartoonist does it?
      So dont worry. Just be confident to be good at what u do best, rather than worrying about that ur not talented in something somebody else does best.
      Most if us cant be the best in everything anyway

    I use medibang because its the program I use on my computer to do all my art, but I love it more because of its cloud. I can start a drawing when I'm out with my tablet, save it into the cloud and continue it at home; that's why it's my go-to app/program.

    Been using Infinite painter for 3 years now, and it has great features, and developer (Sean) is super aproachable and eager to listen if you have some problems with the app. We had a great little community when the discussion for Infinite Painter was on Google + before they shut it down :( Anyways, if you dig a little deeper it has some amazing options: great selection tools, great perspective tools, color adjusting tools and filters with very advanced means of application (i will just say for example : adjustable bokeh with lets say... adjustable tilt shift focus - havent seen something like that even in photoshop). Also brush engine is just something else compared to other programs and i like that out-of-the-box every brush can be used as a blender.

    On Art flow, if you double tap on the screen, it will re-adjust the drawing to its original spot. I also have realized if you take you stylus along the left side, you can easily control the thickness of your brush size. Personally, I use art flow on my amazon kindle fire, and the main downside is that it won't let me rotate my canvas and it don't let me use the paint bucket (and yes, my lines have been fully closed). For Xmas, I asked my parents for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite tablet so I can get apps that work better. In the past, I have used ibis paint X and it has been amazing. I just really wish with art flow I was able to rotate my canvas and fill in shapes quicker and easier. If anyone has any tips, that would help me a lot.

    Nice list! Always cool to see more options for creative apps on Android :)
    I love Concepts for sketching on the iPad (I choose Procreate or Affinity for any polished work, but I love that Concepts is all vector for quickly trying stuff)
    It's actually quite easy to tweak the "streamlining/stabilisation" on the brushes...
    I see you had it at 0% while you complained about that but you can change it to whatever you want tapping on the squiggly line in the center left of the toolbar!
    I agree on the color picker... As cool as it looks I would love to have a more traditional option... Just as normal nodes for modifying the lines instead of their pushy thingy

    Now, wait just a darn minute Brad :), you just skimmed over Superbrush and this is the first time I hear of it and it seems like kind of a big deal. I have an older note 10.1 2014 which has a great screen but older android 5.1, and would like to try it but the app is a little pricy on play store (25 bucks) and no way to try it out and developer seems to be one guy (not a bad thing, am just worried about continuous support). Tell me more Brad, please, is it usable as a poor mans cintiq replacement, what apps you tried, how does it "feel" ? Love the videos, keep it up.

    I tried concepts, i absolutely love it, but there are some features that are misaing, like some layer controls, like alpha lock, transparecny and ohter, i love the "stabilization" of this app
    It kinda snaps while you draw, and yhat very satisfying, the color picker wheel for me is good, because the colors are great, and they're markers color ( tell me if im wrong)
    But i need the layers options and more brushes

    Brad, I use both Illustrator and Photoshop on PC side by side... creating basic shapes using Illustrator and then cut n paste into Photoshop for detailing and shading. Just bought a 7Plus and hoping I could do the same on it. Are there any android apps I could draw with Bezier curves that I am so familiar with? I would even settle for something like the limited pen Bezier drawing tool as in Photoshop.

      @@fihrilkamal7296 yes infinite painter is one of the most unstable apps...Yesterday I changed from infinite painter to sketchbook to finish my illustration cause I had issues with the eraser and lots of other bugs that made the app quite unusable. The onlu issue I've faced with artflow is that sometimes doesn't recognise pro license...

  • @Difyance
    @Difyance 3 года назад

    I have been using Artflow for years. The undo and redo buttons can be mapped to the corners of the screen, so tapping the top left corner is undo and bottom left corner is redo. I believe it's the Input setting called Active Edge. I don't know why there's no good how to guide for this app, but I remember in a previous version it let you decide what each corner did.
    I am looking for other android art programs because I just got an S7+ and am overwhelmed with the screen real estate (upgraded from a Galaxy Tab A 9.7 from 2015). The palm rejection on this with Artflow is so finicky that after I tap undo, or if I pick up my hand to move the canvas or adjust the zoom or angle, it will often reset the view when I put my hand back down, which gets increasingly irritating when I am trying to work on something and have to keep setting the screen to the place I was working on. I am going to try a couple of the others you mentioned in the top 5 list, because they sound really good, but if what you say is true, I will probably end up coming back to Artflow anyway. Maybe I'll just get one of those graphics monitor gloves...
    Thank you for this list!

    Concepts is an odd app. I personally like it and intend to move to it once I have gotten a little better. But my main interest is also concept art / architectural sketching which is where Concepts really shines.
    As for your issues, there's the feature in the middle of the colour wheel where you can decie amount of line smoothing.
    And concepts has the ability to buy everything seperately, though you are missing some sync features and will be paying about 1.5x the yearly cost if you want to unlock everything.
