I’ve smoked all throughout high school heavily, and let me tell you, this is no lie. It comes to a point where you don’t smoke for fun anymore, more to just satisfy a craving like a cigarette. I’m always in my head when i’m not high, and I use this to cope. Am I making excuses why I can’t quit? Yes I am, and these excuses and despairs only became stronger through continued use. If you’re a young kid like me who smokes, stop now, or at least moderate. Don’t do what I did and smoke everyday to impress your friends. This is my story, I hope it’ll inspire you to change yours.
Thank you for your words. I am a frequent user and use it to justify my emotions towards most conflicts in my life. I hope to commit to a tolerance break at least after reading this.
i dont want to smoke but my migraines are awful when i stop and i feel like its better than prescription pills that gave me bad side effects but i feel addicted bc i rely on it to not get migraines
Can we stop comparing marijuana to alcohol? They're 2 completely different drugs, and have very different positives and negatives. Which drug is "better" or "worse" depends heavily on the circumstances, and how different people value these positives and negatives, which is a thing of opinion, not science.
Right I am realizing how much my addiction to marijuana is ruining me and my life. I feel dead all the time, I don’t know how to fully live in the moment always day dreaming and overthinking… don’t let it become an addiction.
It happens to the best of us I’m also struggling to go back to the gym but I just can’t even start running it’s very hard to stay a day without weed for me I can’t be myself idk why it’s very hard I like marijuana a lot but I would like not to smoke anymore if I have a chance
Early middle aged. Started using MJ five years ago, just recently started smoking. Because smoking gets you the effects much faster, you start getting stupid and smoking more. Been daily for several months now. I think your comment jolted me as I discover that I have multiple bongs. I’ll Clean them up and put them away in a box. Out of sight for a year should cement my newfound perspective.
I use it morning noon and night. For the past 30 years. I have a lucrative career that earns me more than 80k. I have a bachelors degree. I read, exercise and meditate daily. I stopped drinking a few years ago and I feel mentally sharper now than ever.
I have been smoking for 45 years. Stopped drinking 10 yrs ago. When I retired at 50. I am a successful business man. I fast For 30 days once per year. Still very active, reading, exercising And relaxing.
I'm so with you on that, I've been smoking for 35 years and have absolutely no intention of ever stopping. I work in sales and you have to be in top form to perform all the time and weed has had no negative effects on me at all.
I'm a chronic pot smoker and idk why this video has so many dislikes. Y'all in denial. Ofc its going to have some side effects like almost everything. Everything that comes up must come down. However I still think it's safer than sugar especially if vaporized or eaten aka not smoked. Sugar has been shown to also have effects on the brains reward system. However, from experience, Marijuana even when used chronically has so many less side effects than booze, sugar, so many meds, rec drugs, sitting down all day and much more.
sachyktothea Stop using the Holy Herb. You are a disgrace to our community. How dare you speak ill of God's Holiest of plants. She's the healing of the nations.
Mr.A VR Freak God makes many plants, so you think we should all be eating a bunch of opium? God makes plants, but scriptures show he has made at least one forbidden.
Been smoking for 10 years. I know my brain is a little more sluggish because of it. But I need help with chronic pain, and my entire adult life I've spent looking for the best option. Marijuana is by far the most beneficial and least harmful when considering the other options for chronic pain relief.
To all the younger generation: smoking weed is so difficult to quit after many years and the tolerance grows. It’s not “cool” and I wish I never started. It makes you addicted contrary to what certain articles say. You start to use it to regulate lows and sleep instead of processing emotions in a healthy way. Get into fitness and don’t hang out with the pot crowd. If they insist tell them it makes you nauseous. This is the advice I would give my younger self.
I'm 45 and trying really hard to stop smoking weed. Started when I was a senior in high school. I don't even smoke to get high anymore, just to prevent myself from being irritated.
This is a complicated subject. For me personally, I felt like sort of a different person in a good way after smoking weed the first few times. It changed my perspectives on a lot of things and opened my mind up to new possibilities. I’m not sure if everyone goes though those types of changes but that’s what happened to me. Then a few years down the line nothing else changed much weed wise besides me cutting down on my usage slowly due to tolerance reasons.
Yes it does make life more interesting initially but over time it does have certain issues, does weed make you feel a bit down and leaves you with a sort of faded headache? I feel that way but maybe because the marijuana was of bad quality.
@@ShortScaryStoryAI headaches usually have to do with cannabis terpenes, dosage , thc percentage, contaminates, seeds, and stems. Also dehydration. Try next time to research terpene profiles that match the effects you are trying to enjoy. Then search for strains that have those terpenes that you are searching for! Yea i think im a better person on it (at least just micro doseing) and getting high high latter when nothing is going on. Tho i have lost a lot of concentration so thats scary
well... here goes.. in one more year, i will complete a decade of smoking & this substance has helped me... i used to be 350 lb, i lost weight, reducing down to 160 in just 2 years... heart attack, stroke.. any other illness from being overweight defeated... i owe my life to this plant that GOD left for us on this planet.
I smoke for various reasons as an adult, to cope with depression and trauma, I can say it has helped me conquer certain anxieties and will often lift me from a depressive state that otherwise can feel unshakable for me. Until I smoked for the first time nothing worked to help me calm myself as much as smoking has and I can personally say it has helped me prevent myself from self harming. Of course its my opinion that its not for everyone and everyone has different reactions to it, so this is just me. I find smoking has significantly increased my quality of life, but I do admit my dependency can be unhealthy at times creating feelings of anxiety when I run low or out.
The anxiety from running out is real and I’ve had episodes from not coordinating re-ups properly. Weed is best used as an occasional crutch if you use it for trauma. As someone who also suffers from an inability to cope, weed can make it so you never truly develop other coping mechanisms. And eventually, like in my case, weed loses its initial efficacy and once that happens that’s even MORE anxiety, realizing you have to stay on top of your tolerance and have little else to turn… Talk about scary. As someone grappling with a dependency due to trauma, I don’t think regular smoking is suitable for the vast majority of people. It’s not sustainable in my mind, and you’re best off building more stable coping mechanisms in lieu of weed use (picking up guitar for instance was difficult but one of the best decisions I made this year).
@@psychiclovespells630 Replace it with something else. Get back to a hobby or fund some new ones. Put effort into basically anything else and keep moving. That first month was sort of hard but right after that I felt great.
Use to be a heavy smoker for 4 years, multiple bowls a day. I found myself in a psychosis state of mind where I was paranoid and filled with anxiety. Nothing extreme but I realized how much money I blown on part time euphoria. Anything in excess will destroy you in one way or another. The greatest thing about pot is you can stop at any time and won't have drastic withdrawal. Honestly life feels more clear without it now after smoking so much. Whenever I started smoking I said the same thing "life feels more clear". Now the tables are turned. The lesson learned is moderation and prioritize life to your current condition.

I’ve been smoking for 9 years and I’m now noticing these effects, and it’s crazy how spot on this video was. I find it hard to focus on long term goals, and I am always looking for the short term gratification (usually smoking and doing whatever). It’s hard to NOT focus on the short term. Really hard. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t quit smoking. But I significantly cut back and just vape and I am feeling like I am returning to my base line self again. Like everything, moderation is key

tbh everyone i hear say this never had any plans before ever touching weed. They smoke for awhile then blame weed for not being a doctor or lawyer, like nah son you were a loser before you started smoking why would that change cus you smoke 20x a day????
You don't even know weather the science behind this is accurate or not, you just hear someone saying something negative about weed and get defensive. Weeds cool but the pot community is so annoying. Stfu.
I had a teacher in college (around 1983) who gave us all a little written handout/advice at the end of the class. I thought it was cheesy but I never forgot the last line: AVOID MOOD-ALTERING DRUGS.
Literally everything alters your mood btw. if it is some specific substance or people around you. its all just chemical compounds just existing and interacting to their environment of your brain. But true.. especially young people should rather avoid that, some might struggle with moderating in life.
like literally. eating some super spicy chinese food gets me high for about 1h. getting the sauna does the same. THC happens do it too, so what? Just do many more studies to really find out how harmful anything is.
This video took a long time to say “we don’t really know” lol What substance doesn’t change the brain over time? I’ll take the damage from weed over the damage of stress, thx
jeff L - Not true my friend, I have smoked & vaporized this wonderful plant for 14+ years. I have an MBA and decent bank account, I’m stress free and perfectly healthy. I will use it for the rest of my life. My friend!!!
I’m a more-than-daily smoker for a couple years now. I have to say I can relate to the instant gratification section (and a little bit the anxiety, but i already have anxiety so im not a good control). Ever since I started I’ve noticed it has been much more difficult to sit myself down and work vs taking the instant gratification of smoking/wasting time. That said, I think this could happen to any addictant, not just weed
It doesn’t matter what it is, too much of anything is bad for you. This is coming from someone who is dependent on weed and has been abusing it for a couple years. I’m trying to fix that now and hopefully in the future I can have a healthier relationship with cannabis.
as a chronic of 23 years, i just quit last week and the anxiety is out of this world.. but i have to get threw this because being a slave to addiction is the worst.
Same I feel like a different person more out of reality I don't think it's lowered my IQ though because I'm still pretty smart compared to a lot of people and my brain still functions well. 😂
Unimaginable Gaming it definitely effects some people more than others i know people who havent really been effected mentally by weed but i have heavily
Yea bro, I started in 2020 at 19 just to be a cool kid. And best believe I did become way more popular. Over the past 4 months I thought about how I was becoming completely a different person, so I’m clean now, I wanna be myself that’s it
I used to smoke everyday for 4 years, in the beginning I’d experience the nice pleasant high that marijuana was known for. Over the past year, I started noticing that instead of experiencing feelings of happiness while high, it started doing the opposite. I started to experience a lot of anxiety and paranoia even when I was alone. I decided that it was a sign for me to quit and I have, and I feel a lot happier sober now than when I used to smoke. Weird how things work lol but I don’t regret my decision. Its been about a month since I quit, it wasn’t easy tho. I used to vape nicotine too, and smoking weed felt like satisfying a craving more than to actually feel good. I quit both this year. I don’t think weed is bad, it’s definitely better than alcohol and cigarettes or vaping, but it’s not for everyone
Weed consumed frequent and in high doses might downregulate our body's natural endocannabinoid production, just a theory but I stopped and feel normal again somewhat to before I started using chronic..chronically I'm micro-dosing D8 THC Sublingual Tablets from LEVEL1, which seems to give all benefits without the b.s.
Me too. It’s use fun and gave me a better mood but after I returned to it it was no longer fun but made me anxious and paranoid. Today marks my one week of quitting weed and I feel much better. Anxiety or being anxious is going down every day
Dammit I'm so different when I'm sober, I was so different before I started smoking daily. I'm definitely starting to worry about the long term effects.
Just breathe and learn to vibe in the ever-changing happening. There isn’t much point in trying to apply words to everything happening, or understanding everything. It just creates useless anxiety. Bottomline it will be okay homie lol.

And you probably should. I’m 42 and I’ve done a lot since I was young. Starting around 39 I went into a downward spiral mentally. Mad trauma surfaced. But I do believe that my excessive use of herb (for sure) and alcohol altered my brain. I’ve done MAD work in rebuilding my brain (food, yoga, meditation, working out, doing difficult things, constantly learning) the past couple years and it is working. So if I could give advice. No doubt that herb is beneficial. Zero doubt. But with everything good there could be a negative. For ME it has become negative. So focus on maintaining your physical and mental health and you will be good. I wish someone told me that when I was younger. Would’ve saved a few years of my life trying to fix it. Blaze it up! 😂
I’ve been smoking HIGH amounts on THC every single day, multiple times a day since I was 16. I’m turning 20 in 2 days and I can honestly say I’ve never regretted something so much. My brain is practically like scrambled eggs. I can’t hold long/meaningful conversations anymore and My memory is absolutely horrible. I’m truly scared that my brain will never recover. I would love to talk to someone about this.. (stoners don’t come for me I know weed affects everyone differently, this is just from my experience)
hello, been through the same. I found it helpful when I switched to smoking only at night and a small amount. If you don't want to quit, you can try this. Stop smoking during the day and pick up a book. Reading will help your memory eventually. Smoke only after 9 pm and with a small amount. You'll realize your tolerance will be lower so you will enjoy your weed more and it's much more cheaper to smoke this way. Sorry for bad english, take care
You have to quit. I seems like life will be miserable without it but after a couple of weeks you will be suprised how good you feel. Do not forget to pray to god and read the bible (biblical arheology as well which prooves the bible).
Which strain(s) have been used? Indica/Hybrid/Sativa/Medical? THC how high/low, CBD included? Don't just classify it as 'one marijuana thing' because there's thousands different of them which all have completely different effects. This is not educating anyone and manipulating people who know little about this great plant.
Right. Were they also using other drugs? Alcohol? The real controlled test would take scans of non smokers then successive scans of those people who then consume on a regular basis
It’s been exactly 48 hours since I’ve smoked as I type this comment! I feel great, much more communicable, the mental dog has been lifted and I feel as if all the things I wanted to do when I was using flower I can actually do now without the overthinking. I couldn’t sleep the first night.. I tossed and turned every 10 minutes until I finally fell asleep at 2am and woke up every 45 mins. I’ve smoked just about every day for the past 5 years and I’ll definitely say that kush is the one thing that you can quit cold turkey and have no long lasting withdraw effects other than losing sleep that first night. It’s all in your head!! You can put the weed down and move forward with your life.
Honestly I’m genuinely surprised after smoking that long you didn’t have many side effects! I’ve only done it every day for 3 months and I’m on my second day and it suckssssss
this is just my testimony; i smoked weed semi heavily during my college years because a lot of my friends had. i have had breaks here and there, but always seemed to come back to it and was getting high every day. i havent smoked in 50 days and my abilities to focus on tasks, remember to complete assignments and apply common sense has been noticeably apparent in my new job. i have considered that perhaps i have adhd but have never been diagnosed by a clinical professional. i blame the weed because when i would smoke i would get so stupid and absolutely forgetful, then i would still feel groggy in the morning after. i dont think weed is a horrible drug by any means, but it definitely has a detrimental effect on chronic users
@@edgarSmile yes sir, my short term memory has been reborn in a sense lol. After a month or so without smoking, the benefits are definitely noticeable.
Smoked for 25 years every day all day, never remembered a dream. For the past year I've been working a job that is shift work where I work a week on week off. Every week while I was at work and not smoking like clockwork on day 3 or 4 my dreams would start getting intense or at least I would remember parts of them. I'm now on day 26 without smoking for the first time since I was 15 and my dreams are crazy, it's like I go to sleep and wake up in a dream even if it's a nap. Now they are now so intense and real and it's not like I remember pieces of dreams I remember everything. I find this amazing and just wanted to share it with the world.
I am a smoker practically half my life. I've always had vivid dreams, even as a kid. Ever since the weed was introduced I am experiencing lucid dreams and oftentimes I am flying (which is really cool). It must have had the opposite effect for you then. Weed made my dreams even more intense and oftentimes lucid, in your case it lessened them? It could also be due to the memory weed impacts, every person actually dreams every single night - but if we remember them, that is a different thing entirely. Seems to me that weed just made you forgetful.
I think the reality is that some people can use lots of marijuana and not have long term problems and some people use it and have problems. Just like everything else in life, we are all different people and there is no "one size fits all" answer to almost anything.
If I touch fire I get burned, just like you do, and anybody else. In bigger degree the more you touch it. I ain't saying MJ is fire, but i'll affect you the more you use it, just like anything else. Use it wisely.
@eric Spencer Facts! It all depends on the individual. An extremem example is that some people who smoke weed end up schizophrenic due to a family history of or genetic predisposition to schizophrenia but those who are not predisposed/have no family history can smoke as much as they like without any consequences, i.e snoop or wiz khalifa.
If you want a career then you’ll need to quit, if you want a job then carry on. Weed frazzles your memory, clouds reality, makes you lazy, slows reaction times, clouds decision making, gives you the outlook of I’ll do it tomorrow, induces paranoia, whether you realise it or not is down to how much in denial you are, makes you moody, destroys motor skills and coordination. It’s only when you start to mix with intelligent people that you start to get exposed badly! Whilst your hanging around other pot heads you will continue living in a pipe dream
I used to be a heavy smoker for 20 plus years, literally everyday all day since a teenager and this is so true. I believed it was good for me because I like being creative and it took away negative feelings but i started to realize the negative effects mentioned here combined with severe depression due to the brain not being able to produce dopamine on its own. I have Adhd so that’s probably why I got addicted in the first place because of low levels of dopamine. it’s just made it worst. It’s been a year since I quit and I wish I hadn’t abused my brain so much. I’m not against weed just don’t do it everyday (like alcohol) it will damage your brain and time will just pass and hold you back without you even noticing it.
Let’s put similar labels on products with sugar. That stuff is deadly. More than 700k Americans die each year from its associated heart disease and diabetes.
Liquor should also have one, saying things like if you drink this whole bottle there is a possibility of death. Like idk why the Canadian government thinks I should only be able to buy 30 grams at once, and the say 4 seeds is equivalent to 5 grams of my allotted 30, it's wack, I can go into a liquor store and buy a small keg, a case of beer, bottle and bottles of spirits and more if I wanted, no questions asked other than, having a party? It's wild, plus they treat it like we're childeren, too many people who never smoke try edibles first, which is dumb, I've never greened out, and I find most people who started young dont, and never really have, like we expect people to just drink responsibly but we have the government telling us how much we can buy of something that can't kill you, it's weird
@@jossuearias3509 lol honestly it doesn’t even feel that amazing I’ve tried it and I get panick attacks and I know not everyone does but still it doesn’t feel that great mostly like when your drunk and that’s it beside maybe seeing things and other stuff but not much of a difference.
I actually got a few panic attacks from it (convincing myself I had suffered a stroke). Though.. granted, I am suffering from severe depression following the continual loss of vision (and other mental effects such as lethargy, brain fog, difficulty to concentrate, reading is bothersome).
There is a big difference between use and abuse. Someone who has a beer with friends occasionally is not the same as an alcoholic. Someone who enjoys a joint with friends is not the same as someone who gets baked every day. Moderation is the key, people.

Just because we don't know everything about the way mary jane affects the brain, doesn't mean there isn't evidence pointing towards it being negative in some ways. But hey, I smoke weed and marijuana has made me open to new ways of thinking, so it's not all bad, but we can't keep saying "Oh people have used it for so long, it can't be bad". I'm also a recovering opiate addict.. People have used opium for god knows how many years, but that doesn't really prove anything at all. Have a good one.

Just a quick tip. If you quit weed, try to take 10.000 steps a day. At least 7.500 before you stop walking (unless there's traffic light ofcourse). Preferably walk in the sun. You'll feel some sort of high afterwards. I'm now on day 4 of abstinence and it helped me to keep my cool. If I don't take these long walks I'll be very depressed and anxious.
The stutter is the worst. It's from not being able to think clearly and having a hard time pulling out the right word. After about 11 years of smoke every day I had all these same issues. Stopping and getting healthy again and drinking a lot of water clears up most mental issues.
I was a heavy user. 4-5 times a day over the summer last year for months because covid hit I had more free time. I smoked myself to have Anxiety I’ve never experienced before. I've been a heavy weed smoker for 15/20 years, after watching this video I'm thinking that they could be correct in thier assumptions of being driven by immediate reward and higher anxiety and mood swings. I've found these to be something I'm experiencing myself. It's become worrying as I don't think I have the drive and will power to actually quit but I know the weed is contributing to the problem. If you have a large supply and want to quit smoking.. turn it into cannabutter. I did this last winter. Bake the weed very briefly in the oven on low heat, then melt it into butter and sugar (make fudge and put it in the freezer). Having nothing on hand to smoke it cut my usage right down but when I felt I needed a boost I eat a little bit of fudge instead, when taken in moderation (not every day!) it gives anxiety release, calm happy feeling and better ability to focus on hard tasks gently. But they aren't a magic bullet, sometimes you are better sober. Stupidly I grew more plants last summer and have a supply again.. thinking I need to do this again, but going for a good 8 months or so over the summer without smoking showed me its possible. It requires a lot of self acceptance. It's a shame(?) that harvest time coincides with the dark cold winters.. I think going for a walk and getting sunshine in darker months is helpful for managing anxiety. Ultimately it's finding another way to deal with whatever the feeling is that makes you want to smoke in the first place. Sitting thru anxiety etc.
@@minkutak2095 If you put the weed into an oven on a low temp, the oven will act like a vaporiser. You're just going to evaporate all the THC and destroy the weed.
I didn't think it was possible to quit either, the psychological grip is strong , just like my addiction to alcohol I cut down my consumption over a two week period to a point where I was barely intoxicated. This allows you to experience what sobriety will feel like and to be honest, it felt great, instead of trepidation I felt optimistic, I felt like the old me. That feeling was more gratifying than any high. Then I simply stopped altogether.realizing these moments of clarity are few and far in between has helped me stay drug and alcohol free permanently. You can do it brother.
As a long term user I can say it’s way more harmful than people think…. I quit after 25 years and the withdrawals were horrible… I don’t know how people get off harsher drugs bc pot was bad enough
my friends and i smoked during high school and i was astonished how stupid they got. I quit but, one kid got so burnt out he could barely make jokes, finish thoughts, and he lost most all sense of humor. It was honestly really sad, people who say weed is harmless are saying it because they've lost to many brain cells to realize they've lost to many brain cells.
I used to smoke around an 8th a day before(got clean and joined the marines) but before getting clean marijuana would give me such horrid anxiety. I wouldn't want to go out and going to school was an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't be able to speak to people and my confidence went downhill. When I stopped smoking weed all of that stopped. Before that happened though I loved weed. I don't know what caused me to start having anxiety on weed. Well that's just my story.

If you don't respect the herb, the herb will no longer respect you. Period.
I smoked for 4 years weed does change your brain 🧠 unfortunately mostly for the worst, I used to think of it as a break for your brain but the problem your brain will want more of those breaks and that’s not ideal if you want to get somewhere in life, my advice you should quit before it becomes a part of life.
I just quit smoking about a month and 20 days ago all because I had a 4-day-long anxiety and panic attack episode it was truly one of the hardest mental challenges I've had in my life so far and I'm only 15 and before that, I smoked 4-5 times a day every day for about 2 and half years I went full-on cold turkey after my first anxiety attack and haven't smoked since then the withdrawals were terrible and I couldn't eat for days. Ever since I quit I have lost friends and have faced some very serious urges to smoke but I stayed strong and my mental health is the best it’s been in a long time and I haven’t had any bad anxiety and panic attacks in a quite a while I feel great now I still have the urge to smoke all the time but I just listen to music and try my best not to think about it.
I totally understand you buddy, im 100 days clean & i experienced some really bad anxiety & panic attacks! Horrible feeling. I never even knew that was a thing before it happened to me. I still have anxiety & mini panic attacks here & there. I’m hoping it will go away soon.
How long after you quit did it take you to start to feel and think clearly and sharply? I’m a week sober after being a heavy daily smoker and I feel terrible. Mentally unfocused and irritable. My eyes do feel physically stronger weird enough but other than that I just feel in a moment by moment haze. I totally relate on the loss of an appetite as well as my body temp is out of whack.
@@cosborne06 Lots of exercises. Dont stop sweating. Do this consistently for three weeks to a month it will regulate your body temp. While at it, try as much as possible to avoid sex and stroking your meat. You need all the energy to overcome the withdrawal phase.
I have been smoking home grown marijuana for atleast 5 years now. It is still recreational for me. I roll a joint when I am about to go the bed and get high before entering, it's a routine. I think marijuana is good if you smoke it in its natural form, the ones that are grown in a lab are high in THC and may be a good high but its natural essence is lost.
I stopped drinking alcohol 10 years ago and took up medical marijuana and I feel happier, and healthier than ever before. I lost weight as I was over weight and now that I learned how and when and what to eat, I look and feel younger than 20 or 30 years ago. Thank You Lord for all the herbs You created for Our well-being. My cousin same age as me just died of sorosis of the liver. I to was an alcoholic then and smoked cigars and cigarettes because I didnt love myself.
@Keithesson (Beatmaker) obviously You dont have to believe me but theres no reason for me to lie about my Own life experience. Alcohol meses one up totally while marijuana in butter will be the best way to ingest it rather than smoking it because smoking it still causes mucus. You can argue and disagree all You want. Have a great day.
7 days sober. The key is to get the paraphernalia and weed out of your house then just commit to sobriety. It's hard on a physiological level the first week then it dissipates could take months or years to fully heal your brain but just set your sights on new goals and endeavors you can do anything. My catalyst was my children and better health and mental clarity.
I used to do high concentrates of thc every single day for about a year and I had a really bad high off one of them and it triggered an anxiety disorder in me. It's been almost 2 years since that day and im getting better and I smoke only flower now. Moderation is key, and know your limits!
I think you don't understand what structural changes in the brain actually implies. In short, no, you don't reduce those changes, they're irreversible.
adult neurogenesis has been shown to occur at low levels compared with development, and in only two regions of the brain: the adult subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricles, and the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus.
Smoked for 19 years, always on the best and high potent strains. I cold turkey for a month now. My thinking process and memory is a lot better. I get a lot of headaches without weed, pain in my back and neck is more noticeable. Not sure if its withdraw symptoms. Life is more boring. Im actually dreaming now even though its vivid and out of this world. But I have more control of my life now. I still have my potent weed vapes in my room to battle with my will and keep it strong. I look at it but I dont smoke it. There is more to life. It can also hold you back from traveling to different countries. Dont let nothing control you.
As much as Stoners will tell you it’s not true, smoking Weed on a regular basis isn’t good for your mental health. It won’t kill or hurt you per-say, but it doesn’t mean it’s entirely harmless. And I’m not against the use of medical or recreational use of Marijuana. Far from it! In fact, I have plans of opening up my own dispensary, when it eventually becomes legal in my state. But I don’t smoke every single day anymore, because of it made me feel, and how it affected my relationship with my friends and family. Personally, I love to smoke. It makes me feel good, it’s especially fun with friends, and it helps with stress. But I limit myself to once every week or two. So that way my tolerance doesn’t go up as much, and so I can focus on my job and life primarily. Yes, I’m aware and agree that alcohol and other legal items are far worse for you than marijuana! But I digress. To much of anything isn’t good for you!
I’m pretty sure that smoking pot at age 13 caused issues with anxiety later in life. It’s also interesting how Almost everyone I know has had panic attacks while smoking pot, & it never gets discussed.
Heavy daily user here, weed definitely affects mood in a negative way, for example, anyone who can’t get their next pickup after they run out from their plug knows exactly what I’m talking about lol Suddenly everyone suffers an anxiety attack or heavy irritability
I became more spiritual...it made me calmer. I think it has helped with my suicidal thoughts, I feel more of the meaning of life.... Oh by the way I have a Masters in Biochemistry and my brain function is sharp as a Japanese knife
If you truly have a masters in biochemistry, you'd realize that the effects of weed isn't so overt. While it is not as harmful as other substances, it doesn't mean it is safe. Two wrong doesn't make a right. One unhealthy thing being socially accepted doesn't mean the other should too. Ideally neither should be accepted.
@@neurofiedyamato8763 that is an undeniable truth. Excess is not good ( I.e synthetic TCHs, and other THC concentrates) , but that being said, I think people fear drugs coz of some preconceived notions. Other than research based knowledge. To each their own.
Cause many weed users say they can quit any time and it's not addictive and refuse to believe in any way that it can have any negative effects or withdrawls.. yet they are never quitting.. so how can they even say that. Quitting is horrible when everyone around u says ur faking the withdrawls and insomnia cause it's jot bad but also say they can quit tomorrow but don't
Im a pretty heavy user but i work 40 hours a week and go to work sober as a dog. I don’t depend on marijuana for anything i honestly just enjoy smoking weed. all though i noticed it slightly help with my ADD. Ive never had symptoms of looking for quick reward or any mood problems other than a couple years ago i was going through hard times and i did depend on marijuana heavily then i started to have those symptoms. Id say its much more of a mindset problem. Specifically the mindset of “im stressed let me smoke some weed” or “im feeling down let me smoke some weed” and ect.
Simply living life constantly changes your brain. With every second you spend being conscious, changes in your brain occur as new thoughts form and memories are physically stored in your brain’s physical structure.
It makes you lazy and depressed if I’m being honest it really hurts you emotionally because after a while you just keep chasing that same high and you never get it because you build tolerance to it thus making it just a habit. Weed is fine but over doing it every single time is not. Some days I’d rather go on a drinking bing then get high again just for the simple fact that I would actually feel alive rather dead. There is a lot of times weed can help but doing it everyday has had effects for me personally. Even motivation at work is bad sometimes because of weed. Just remember too much of a good thing is also a bad thing. Be careful and smoke responsibly and in a good environment.
I have smoked weed daily for around 3 years now, it definitely does impact your mental clarity, sharpness, and memory. I will never quit weed in my life though, but definitely need to be careful on the frequency of use - I believe 3-4x a week at night is best for the health.
Want to know a huge tip? Exercise daily, sleep well, eat well, take fish oil supplements (good omega 3-6 ones), do mind games (lumosity.com per example is great). Giving the blame solely to weed is highly unjustified. Anyone can have those issues you described, especially as we get older. You don't even have to be using any drug, even simple medications can cause the issues you suffer from.
@@HuubHeesakkers I take no medication besides marijuana, and I do exercise daily. I'm 21 and I'd say I'm a top 15% athlete for my age as of right now. I'm talking more as in smoking all day, if I smoke in morning and work I notice headaches, fatigue, and I'm not at my mental (or physical best) compared to if I was sober. Although I do lack in sleep and I believe I have slight depression although I'm digging out of it
I smoke every day and sometimes try to take a week long t break. I love weed but guy, there is more and more research coming out that shows real negative effects of heavy use. But dont just listen to me, look for yourselves. It's your life and health after all.
Weed is a beautiful plant! I've been smoking since I was an adolescent. It is a beautiful thing... until you've realized you are misusing it! Taking a long overdue break and I know I'll struggle but I need it
Started smoking at 14 occasionally and started smoking daily by freshmen year it’s been 5 years since I’ve been smoking notice things like memory loss, stomach pain, appetite loss, sometimes I’d even get shortness of breath honestly I believe marijuana can be good but when used in moderation I’ve found it very hard to take T-breaks now
You need to realize you're also aging, and when people start young they tend to link any problem they have in young adulthood to cannabis but it could just as easily be something you eat, liquor, a genetic thing, or just some sort of problem with your body in general. Hard to link things to cannabis without using process of elimination, I know for a fact certain terps make me sneeze, and powdery mildew on weed gives me an asthmatic like allergic reaction, amd touching certain strains of cannabis or certain individual plants grown using synthetic nutrient salts, I get a hives like rash, which sometimes bleeds a bit, almost like if you gave someone a hickey, I still smoke several times a day every day. I find it help with my gerd, and allows me to eat without an acid flare up, but if I end up having an allergic reaction, then it kinda makes it worse as my breathing is heavier so it takes more force from core, therefore pushing more acid into my esophagus
Have used cannabis since 1967... Pot is like anything else, food, alcohol, other medications. Everything in moderation. I'm 67 yrs. old. I still use cannabis for sleep every night. If I don't, I'm wide awake by 2;00 am for the rest of the night. So yeah, Cannabis helps my sleep so much! I'm active, healthy and an avid Equestrian. My mind is sharp, and I'm still doing 20 to 50 mile rides throughout the summer season. I could not achieve that feat if it were not for cannabis because my joints.. { no pun intended, LoL! ....are shot. knees, shoulders, hands, from over 60 yrs in the saddle. My use of flower, THC drops, and edibles help my pain and keeps me in the saddle, I hope for years to come. All used in moderation. When I do run out, I have no withdrawal symptoms, except wishing I wasn't on my last dropper full of Cannabis oil. Everything in moderation. It seems to me, those people who are having issues with cannabis are those who stay stoned all day. That is a waste and certainly unnecessary. Embrace the herb, but don't abuse it.
It’s funny how typical marijuana smokers portray themselves to be open minded but when it comes to marijuana they are so obstinate and hold their ground. They don’t care about the negatives at all.
Ummmm look in the comments a little more so many admit to how much it’s changed them or given them health problems. From what I see people who smoke weed are brutally honest
Sasha Cordon I just quit after 6 years daily. It just gets old and it takes over. I became a corny homebody all the time. One week off and I’m never turning back. There’s too much life out there to miss out, just to stay in and roll up. Good luck to you :)
Just a little thing, it's not just due to weed. ANYTHING you do did daily or things you enjoy you suddenly stop cause the same "withdrawal effects. Just as having this favorite drink and it no longer exists, per example - even that can cause withdrawals.
I also used to get anxiety when I smoked weed (after 10+ years of smoking) until it gave me nasty weird panic/anxiety attacks, but it wasn't related to the smoking but to the lifestyle. When I changed that, I could smoke again like normally.
@@scottyhamilton1624 "So this is A public matter now ? What's the big deal ? If you don't like it then quit." If only it/life was as easy as that (reality) :D
11 times per week. My brain is screwed then. I smoked like 11 times per day for 24 years 😵 1 week sober today. Now it just gives me anxiety so it's actually pretty easy to quit.

Can we stop comparing marijuana to alcohol? They're 2 completely different drugs, and have very different positives and negatives. Which drug is "better" or "worse" depends heavily on the circumstances, and how different people value these positives and negatives, which is a thing of opinion, not science.

Lies again? Brain Food
Best answer goes to you!
What age did you start?

Yea bro, I started in 2020 at 19 just to be a cool kid. And best believe I did become way more popular. Over the past 4 months I thought about how I was becoming completely a different person, so I’m clean now, I wanna be myself that’s it
That’s good you’ve been committed to quitting I’m going to this just ain’t it thought was but not
@@drack6701 lol you sound like you’re talking about heroin let alone weed
@@heybeter5935 you must not understand some of the psychological affects of marijuana, so you even smoke bro?
Weed consumed frequent and in high doses might downregulate our body's natural endocannabinoid production, just a theory but I stopped and feel normal again somewhat to before I started using chronic..chronically
I'm micro-dosing D8 THC Sublingual Tablets from LEVEL1, which seems to give all benefits without the b.s.
Some peoples systems goes with it some dont if u having anxiety that aint for you
How has it been after one year?
Me too. It’s use fun and gave me a better mood but after I returned to it it was no longer fun but made me anxious and paranoid. Today marks my one week of quitting weed and I feel much better. Anxiety or being anxious is going down every day
Crazy how subjective it is, I'm the opposite where it started off badly, then I got used to it.

@@ixxxxxxx it’s awesome seeing more people waking up to the benefits and effects of these ancient practices. We’re getting closer to coming together with nature rather than just destroying and profiting off it.

Curious too, 22 turning 23, started when I was 19 had the thing where I won't talk to anyone. How did you manage?
You have to quit. I seems like life will be miserable without it but after a couple of weeks you will be suprised how good you feel. Do not forget to pray to god and read the bible (biblical arheology as well which prooves the bible).
Which strain(s) have been used?

Don't just classify it as 'one marijuana thing' because there's thousands different of them which all have completely different effects. This is not educating anyone and manipulating people who know little about this great plant.
Yes, different strains, different affects

this is just my testimony; i smoked weed semi heavily during my college years because a lot of my friends had. i have had breaks here and there, but always seemed to come back to it and was getting high every day. i havent smoked in 50 days and my abilities to focus on tasks, remember to complete assignments and apply common sense has been noticeably apparent in my new job. i have considered that perhaps i have adhd but have never been diagnosed by a clinical professional. i blame the weed because when i would smoke i would get so stupid and absolutely forgetful, then i would still feel groggy in the morning after. i dont think weed is a horrible drug by any means, but it definitely has a detrimental effect on chronic users

I havent experienced nice dreams since 3 tears ago that I started smoking heavily
Good for you man. I'm genuinely happy for you.👍👍👍
I am a smoker practically half my life.

I ain't saying MJ is fire, but i'll affect you the more you use it, just like anything else.

@@Flips44 weed has long term affects mentally. lsd can only long term affect you psychologically which is why im doingt the opposite to you.
Theres two things marijuana does, 1 is memory loss, and the other i can't remember!

I think you don't understand what structural changes in the brain actually implies. In short, no, you don't reduce those changes, they're irreversible.

Well done brother you did a great thing.
@docbainl9504 thank you 🙏, I'm still sober staying strong. Withdraw symptoms has decreased a lot more.
Gj, new experiences/memories/emotions are always better than the same feelings you get with drugs whether it be weed or caffeine
RevoMation! I take in moderation bro, it’s chill
I’m pretty sure that smoking pot at age 13 caused issues with anxiety later in life. It’s also interesting how Almost everyone I know has had panic attacks while smoking pot, & it never gets discussed.
Yes and smoking at an early age can potentially lead to schizophrenia.
@@mistercool3859Most of the crazies out there don't even touch weed.

Josh M Do you even know what enlightenment is?
You being serious about this post cuz I have noticed this also it’s almost like a spike in my cognitive function
That's because when you smoke things sloooow down.
Heavy daily user here, weed definitely affects mood in a negative way, for example, anyone who can’t get their next pickup after they run out from their plug knows exactly what I’m talking about lol Suddenly everyone suffers an anxiety attack or heavy irritability
Speak for yourself, I've been a regular smoker for 14 years and I've never had any of those problems in situations where I didn't have weed
Im high af rn

You know of a human who is a non-hedonist? A person who pursues pain and avoids pleasure? Why would anyone do that?
Then simply place an argument as to why. No point saying it's wrong without evidence
I haven't smoked in 2 months now. I can move things with my mind and I hear colours...
I believe it.
So I'm guessing you smoke again ? 👀
Its best perfect kind of meditation
I became more spiritual...it made me calmer. I think it has helped with my suicidal thoughts, I feel more of the meaning of life....
Oh by the way I have a Masters in Biochemistry and my brain function is sharp as a Japanese knife
“is as sharp as a Japanese knife”
*makes typo while talking about how weed isn’t effecting your grammar*

Why was this video so heavily downvoted? It’s informative and well put together
Try taking a month off and come back lol.. not easy .. withdrawls are real.. insomnia I haven't slept or ate much this week and am rly not ok
I love to smoke and work out. 3 hrs at a gym flies by.
Same here 4 years, and I agree 100% 3-4x a week at night should be more than enough
Taking a long overdue break and I know I'll struggle but I need it
People consider me smart and I have been smoking for 10 years almost daily, take that
Started smoking at 14 occasionally and started smoking daily by freshmen year it’s been 5 years since I’ve been smoking notice things like memory loss, stomach pain, appetite loss, sometimes I’d even get shortness of breath honestly I believe marijuana can be good but when used in moderation I’ve found it very hard to take T-breaks now
You need to realize you're also aging, and when people start young they tend to link any problem they have in young adulthood to cannabis but it could just as easily be something you eat, liquor, a genetic thing, or just some sort of problem with your body in general.

Deff true I’ve been smoking for 12 years and now just started to taper of because now it gives me anxiety and I get depressed the next day
Sasha Cordon I just quit after 6 years daily.
So this is A public matter now ? What's the big deal ? If you don't like it then quit.
I also used to get anxiety when I smoked weed (after 10+ years of smoking) until it gave me nasty weird panic/anxiety attacks, but it wasn't related to the smoking but to the lifestyle. When I changed that, I could smoke again like normally.
