The Red Heeler Dog is an incredibly intelligent, active, and strong pet breed. Established by Australian inhabitants to manage herds of livestock on extensive ranches, they're still made use of today as a herding dog. They grow on having a job to do and also on being part of family activities. Even though these are pure-blooded dogs, you may discover them in the care of shelters or rescue teams.
With that said, here’s what i will cover in this Red Heeler Dog guide.
#1: First, I'll talk about the history of the Red Heeler Dog.
#2: I'll then talk about everything concerning the Red Heeler Dog.
#3: And finally, I'll conclude by letting you whether getting a Red Heeler is a great choice to make.
All in all, you will find out all you need to know about the breed in this video.

We have had healers for 30 years. Can't think of a better dog. They all loved to run, never left the yard even when living in town. If left outside they would lay by the door and wait for it to open

I just lost my red heeler a few days ago. Best dog I ever had, super loyal, obedient, loving and protective. Be advised on how amazing these dogs are. She lived to 15 years old. Beautiful dog. I miss her terribly :( R.I.P. Emma

@@billyjones9045 thank you both. It’s been tough and I still miss her but she’s always with us, I still talk to her :) she had a great life and was very well looked after. My sister brought her golden retriever over shortly after and she went looking for Emma and gave a little cry when she couldn’t find her it was so sad.

Our Red Heeler has eye issues, but nothing serious yet. He's 12. Mild hip issues, but can still run and jump just fine. Just not as well as he once could. He had thyroid surgery a few years back and has made a full recovery. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL a few months back and is in physical therapy after a successful surgery. We've spent a lot of money on his health, but he's worth it.
He has endless amounts of energy. Loves walking and playing. Is a bit of a jerk at times, due to not socializing him properly as a young pup. We tried multiple day care centers for socializing, and he's just too unpredictable to stay. Very protective of his owners. VERY good with children, surprisingly. Very, very smart. Also, hates intimacy between his owners.. which can be rather frustrating.. lol
If you're thinking of getting one, do it. Just make sure you socialize them and are willing to give them a lot of exercise. They are fantastic pets.

I teach the food aggression out of them at 8 weeks , I can play in their food as they are eating or take it out of their mouth. A baby could crawl through their food as they’re eating ! 🐕🐕🐕🐕

I want to add a qualifier on one point: My Red lives with me in a pretty small apartment. As long as he gets properly walked and mentally engaged, he'll do just fine.

"Red heeler dog" is not the breed. Australian Cattle Dog is the breed.
Red or blue are the two colorants.
Heeler is the casual aussie label given to these dogs for their herding style, best known Hall's Heeler, Smithfield/Qld blue
Australia does not have ranches, they're called stations. All the best to you and your family from
    Nth Qld Australia

I actually do really appreciate the education. I was told my dog is an “Australian Cattle Dog and Blue Heeler mix.” Doing some easy research I found that Blue Heeler seemed to be a synonym for Australian Cattle Dog, also my dog is a red “Heeler” 🙄

  • @markhill9275
    @markhill9275 2 месяца назад

There is no such breed as Australian Cattle Dog! The correct name IS Queensland heeler, red or blue tick. Bred from Halls Heeler and Timmins Biter. The reds having a stronger dingo gene. Told to me by my Grandma, Emma Selina Hall! Get your facts correct!
