Why do so many event pokemon no longer have event items? Catching them was more rewarding, and even then, you can shiny reset for them. Let's be honest here, a Shiny Mew or Celebi is will always be in some way, hacked, if it is not Japanese. Celebi, in general was impossible to obtain in English shiny, and Mew, while the item can be hacked in and Mew can be shiny reset, it is not completely legit. Unless you count catching it as legit. And not hacking the item in. Only in Japan was the item ever given away.
Because GameFreak decided the extra work wasn't worth it, when so few would use them. Same reason things like the ??? Type was abandoned, along with Pokemon Contests for a while.
Theoretically, you could trade the ticket from a Japanese version as a Pokémon's held item, then use it on your English copy of the game to get a legit shiny *English* Mew

The theme scared me when I caught Mew, Ho-oh, & Lugia 😂 I get it’s a higher pitch for the FR/LG wild battle but it creeped me out when I heard the themes for Navel Rock and Faraway Island trying to catch them
You can go to the Faraway Island in pokemon emerald by using glitches (there is a method called "ACE glitch" that allows you to unlock the event islands, make legendaries respawn and more). So you can still go to the Faraway Island, even without gameshark codes or game freak events

It's a nice day out today. The smell of the sea invades your nose as you sail towards the mysterious island that appeared this morning. Before you arrive on the island you notice a dock which you find strange. "Why would a dock be on this island when there's no records of its existence?" You push the thought out of your head as you arrive. Quickly disembarking from your ship you look around and take in the smells of the island. You notice that there's flowers here that don't look like any flower from the mainland, nor does it smell like any plant you recognize. As you walk further inland you notice stairs leading up to a meadow of tall grass. Deciding to go to the meadow you hear the faintest mewling of an unknown creature up ahead. When you get to the meadow you see a tail briefly before it ducks into the tall grass. Unsure of what else to do you approach the spot where the tail was. When you get there you see nothing but more grass and flowers, but the tail pops up again to your left. You go towards the tail, but you find nothing again. As though it were a game the tail pops back up to your right. After repeating this series of events multiple times you finally find something of note; a footprint with cat-like paws. At the same time you feel the wind pick up and notice it has sparkles in it as though it were carrying fairy dust. You also notice a presence around you. It did not feel malicious or feral, but instead like a warm blanket. Looking to where the pressure resonated you spotted something you never expected. A pink cat with a long tail, the tail you followed around, floated in mid-air. You recognized it from one of the books you used to read as a child, but you couldn't believe your eyes. It was the mythical creature Mew...
i think the gen 3 (mainly frlg) music was kinda lazy with the themes im pretty sure its the same theme but the pitches are different but i would love if they added some different battle themes even though i love it and tbh frlg/emerald has some of my favourite themes like mewtwo and mews theme
thanks to Mew's surprise appearance in the first games as a glitch it helped boost the down-trotted population of Pokemon and yet for whatever reason Mewtwo took all the credit for it(i mean i love Mewtwo) but seriously the poor thing needs to be more popular

+Antonio Solis This isn't even the same as Legendary Birds and Mewtwo. They all have very easy to miss differences. Legendary Birds is higher pitched and has a funky bassline with few instruments in the into part. Mewtwo is the same pitch as Legendary Birds, but has more instruments in the intro and some weird ayylien type noise Mew is even higher pitched and has different rifts with stereotypical mystical noises.

any old timers here will remember what we used to have to do get Pokémon like mew, I remember having to go to toys R us to get him traded to me on the GBA, or you would have to get event items in store.

It's still possible to obtain it legitimately without cheating, thus being able to transfer it to gen 7. Check up on RUclips about pomeg berry glitch.

For me, low level mythical is special, pokémon always gives out level 50 or 100
Curious as in Emerald, in the Mew theme, is the FRLG style. But in FRLG, in Deoxys theme, the theme is in RSE style.

Thanks to a gameshark i had in 2007 i managed to hack emerald to access the island where Mew was at. Caught it and still have it to this day.
