    I'm once again pondering my thoughts on this case.
    JA had 1000 miles to change her mind... She had all that time and all those miles to contemplate, re-evaluate and make a different choice to continue on with her plan, or make a left and go screw her other potential marriage material in Utah skipping AZ altogether. She CHOSE to continue on for 1000 miles and think about it... each exit, each city, each town, each stop sign gave her a new found opportunity to decide not to kill Travis.

      +Janine so would you recommend his book?

    • @janine5540
      @janine5540 8 лет назад +85

      Phan Fiction Absolutely. I like how he gives insight to his strategy and process. He really had to dig deep on how to 'handle' her. He knew of her mental health issues...he knew of her psychopathy. He had to prepare for anything that would come out of her mouth. Remember, she had two years to manipulate the information that was shared through her attorney's. So he really had to be ready- the book tells how he handled the major turns and word games JA played. She really showed very little signs that anything worried her.....
      A few issues I have with the book- I don't like how he seemly explains why he was aggressive with her. Or that he gives any credence to the naysayers. He did not have to explain his approach- but to those of us who follow trials, and the type of damaged people who commit these planned crimes, it's easy to understand why this approach was necessary. Like he says- if he went light- she would have controlled that court room. No doubt about it. He needed her uncomfortable, mad even..... The other issue I had was there were a few typo's which always bothers me...... if it's going to print, edit, edit, edit.... but that's my own issue.
      I later watched a few interviews JM had on his book tour- one with Vinnie Politan... He described why he chose the material for the book, why he left certain parts out, and what his thinking was while sifting through her endless bullshit. His proudest moments in trial and the energy it took to put it all together was a big part of this..... His perry mason moment was his highlight and one he takes away with it- saying it rarely, if ever happens for an attorney. I really like him... I like his style, I like his humble approach to the attention he's getting and the appreciation he shows for those of us who are grateful for people like him who go the extra mile. He's a public servant so if buying his book puts a little money in his pocket, I'm glad to do it! I hope he takes a nice vacation and is able to wash the scum off by his dealings with her.

      I used to think William Brown was better too, but I think Juan had a much harder case to deal with. In William Brown's case the defense rested, and had no witnesses or any real defense. Juan had to deal with clowns like Alice LaToilette and weave that into his storytelling at the end. Probably also why his closing is 3x as long. Either way, they are both amazing.

No one is able to TACKLE and attack after getting shot in the head.
      Also , there were O3 different ways this man was killed. Self defense would only require ONE to prevent further damage to you. No one needs O3 ways to be killed for you to simply "defend" yourself. She's not a good liar like people and SHE thinks. She just does it 24/7....AWFULLY.

      Also in the trial I did try to be as fair as possible. I actually put myself in the place of her lawyer. Tried to say she was abused, and in a fit of madness, due to the abuse, killed him violently without realizing what she was doing. The rage was unconscious, caused by the built up suffering. Though the homicide was violent, it was not done with malice or intent. Sometimes people become so upset that they loose complete control. Pretty much what you have to do as a lawyer, which I am considering. I have a friend make this argument in a case with a clearly battered wife and win. He said he thought the murder was unjustified,, though he understood she suffered. But it was his duty to defend her. But it was not as violent as what Arias did. It was clearly a homicide of passion in the case he argued. The wife WAS abused. Arias was just cold blooded. I wonder what her lawyer really thought. You have to ask yourself if you can stomach giving scum their day in court. They may be innocent until proven guilty, but 90% of them are guilty. And most plea out I am told. Defending a rapist would be hard. Having to go after the victim, accusing her of being promiscuous and that maybe she did not make clear she did not want sex. Of course there is a chance she might not be a victim, and that is why we give the accused the benefit of doubt, not the victim. But, in many cases, she is, and well, that's the think a lawyer has to sleep with every night.

      Actually, this was a well thought out prepared closing argument and not something which was done solely upon the memory of the prosecution as to what the defendant and witnesses testified to. It is not possible for any attorney to present a closing argument without extensive preparation. The prosecutor will go through all testimony of the defendant, dissect it and then refute that testimony with precise evidence to trap her in her own lies. Attorneys rely heavily on the trial transcript notes which obviously disclose what her testimony was at trial. The prosecutor reviews that testimony, highlights the facts, discrepancies and then he prepares step by step the evidence which refutes what she testified to.. This is how an attorney prepares for trial and with a trial of this magnitude it was a long and exhausting task for the prosecutor to prepare this case for the state as well as his closing argument. She can't refute to what she testified to because it's on the record and this is how she trapped herself. Juan Martinez strikes me as a prosecutor who was out for justice against this woman and went into that courtroom well prepaid to expose this woman for the psychopathic murderer that she is. No matter what the outcome, may she never walk this earth a free woman again. She totally butchered that poor guy.

      Years of preparation Anahata. The case was handed to him years ago. All of whom testified, were also pre-interviewed by both sides of the counsel prior to court testimonials. The counsel after gathering the evidence and the facts prepares for trial day. Memorizing time lines and important facts in a logical, chronological sequence of events that come together like a story such as the one Juan tells here. Do you remember back in college, when you had to write your dissertation? How you took to your subject with great depth, passion and motivation. How you lived, breathed and slept with the subject matter because you believed in it so well. So much in fact that you became an expert in it and can articulate from any angle, anything related to the subject matter with such eloquence that you needed no notes.

He exposed the so called "FOG" that she claims blocked the evil method of killing Travis. The premeditated murder was exposed.. She thought a pretty face and claim of domestic violence, and Pedophilia on the victims part would sway a jury.. This prosecutor was a master of his craft.. The defense team had nothing to work with so they scrapped the bottom of the barrel by attacking Travis's character.. No proof of any wrongdoing by Travis . Hearsay from the defendant and she lied at every junction.. It was a pleasure to watch this prosecutor doing his job...Bravo...

      Definitely but he has a certain style as a prosecutor by the way he presents his cases that I'm not a huge fan of. He jumps all over the place as far as presenting a timeline and sequences of events rather than going in chronological order from start to finish. instead he will go back and forth from middle to end to beginning to end then back to middle especially during closing but its a style he's perfected. Another prosecutor who does this is Creighton Waters who prosecuted the Alex Murdaugh case. I prefer a closing the goes from AtoZ instead of all over. Not saying these prosecutors aren't good cuz they were great but just my preference. An amazing prosecutor was the black lady who prosecuted the trial of the foster parents Jennifer and Joseph Rosenbaum. I watch murder trials all the time and my favorite part of trials is cross examinations of the defendants and the closing arguments. I can't think of her name off top but she was excellent. If I had a top 3 best prosecutors she would definitely be one of them

    I understand so much the emotion of Travis' siblings during this trial. I experienced the same thing back in 1979 when a man we grew up with took my sister's life. He lived across the street and had offered to give her rides to high school, as he went to the same school. Not even 4 months later, he killed her after school, and I saw them drive past our house and I wondered why they did not stop to let my sister out. She was gone within the hour. So, I know the emotion of sitting in a courtroom while a prosecutor gives the closing arguments, trying not to show too much emotion. It is SO hard to do, and these siblings of Travis showed incredible strength in this trial to not show too much emotion. I send them my prayers, and it does get easier with time to live your life, but the hardship of missing your sibling or daughter never leaves us, ever. My sister comes to my mind often, as I go through my life and my family. I have a son and I have told him stories of his Auntie since he was small, he knows her through me and my parents and our extended family, they all talked of my sister to my son. Myself, all these years later, I will go to the cemetery tomorrow, the anniversary of her death. December 7th, 1979....she shares the date with so many of our military who also died on that day. My family is a military family and that makes this date of December 7 even more emotional as my Mom and Dad both lost their fathers in World War two. So, on December 7th every year is very emotional for us all.

She barely had her car and I’m sure it’s because she skipped out to Arizona to move closer and she never worked hard enough to get her own place she was always staying in a room of someone she knew. I think when she didn’t offer up cash or offer to help with anything financially she just moved onto a new friend she can mooch off of also who stays with a man old enough to be her grandpa for two nights does anyone find that weird and she didn’t know him I’m sure she did something to get the helio and probably money off that dirty old man.

    • @Candigale
      @Candigale 7 лет назад +7

      Kris Tennant Pedophiles cannot get aroused by adults! It's the same thing as being gay; not saying gays are deviants. I'm saying, you cannot control what turns you on. If Travis was in to children, he would have never been able to get an erection, much less orgasm with a fully figured female, with breasts. The fact that you think pedophiles can pretend, and fully participate in sex with adults, proves you "should start doing YOUR research and stop believing everything the media says....."
      As for the computer. This gets really old! When the police were running a forensic examination on it, Jodi was still telling the ninja story, 2008. Why would the police be looking for porn as it relates to a ninja killing? You can't have it both ways! It's so ridiculous! Just because Jodi said so, nearly three years after the slaughter, AND after the forensic examination of the computer, doesn't change the fact that she premeditated his murder. None of it matters! If she wasn't changing her story like she did her men, perhaps they would've even known to look for porn. And BTW - it was adult porn!!!!!!! What adult has not viewed porn before? That is just another way to take the focus off the real issue, MURDER! If everyone deserved to be murdered for looking at porn, I'd estimate that the human population would be an endangered species! Please!!!!!!

    2:05:48 JM is talking about the gunshot wound and even though it cannot be seen, on the projector is the autopsy photo of Travis' face with the bullet hole above his eyebrow. Of all the photos, that one disturbed me the most. That is the one that seriously stuck with me because it's the same face we saw smiling in so many photos but it's mummified. His lips shriveled up exposing his teeth. His face is green and completely discolored with different hues of black, purple, blue and green. That face was someone's brother and friend. It's really hard to look at. Jodi glances over at the monitor. Surprisingly, it seems to affect her the least of all the photos shown from the autopsy. She then shakes her head as Juan talks about the fact that the bullet came last. That speaks so much to me. Instead of being horrified by the photo of this man's face; the fact that her lies weren't being believed, bothered her more. Enough to cause more of a reaction out of her than the reaction to the picture

      +Notorious Lee And seeing her callousness and arrogance makes me furious. When I saw her sitting there with her eyes closed, her head down, (and she was of course very busy turning her nose red), I wanted to scream into her face. Did she not realize that other people can see the difference between her act and the anguish shown by TA's sisters?!

    • @notoriouslee3441
      @notoriouslee3441 8 лет назад +21

      Diane Farley great point! That's real pain and anguish. Those poor women. I mean you can really see the pain on their faces. Though out all of the videos I've watched, including her interrogation and the interviews that was the one thing that just stood out to me the most. She had absolutely NO remorse about this. The way she spoke about him before the trial was just so bizarre. I guess she figured if she kept a steady stream of sunshine blowing up everyone's ass about him, it would be less believable that she is the one who killed him???? No! It came off weird and creepy. It was painfully obvious to everyone (except her) that she was the guilty party and so when she was talking about him in this over idealized way, it came off as creepy.

This man is a genius and a master of his craft. Real man in the real world, unlike the psychologists that spend so much of theirs in there patients fantasy worlds
