Update on blue gmc needing trans that everyone keeps asking about: it’s coming soon. I need some time to recover from back injury before I can do hard labor like a trans install though. Stay patient! Also: no vermont vehicles over 15 years don’t need a title for everyone asking.
@@TheRealWormsGarage Vermont does not require title on any car over 15 years old. furthermore anyone can register a car in Vermont via the mail. you dont need to live in Vermont or even have a valid drivers license. Vermont just wants you reg fee money and they dont give a crap. this is a way that people in other states can get titles for cars via a Vermont registration. it is called the "Vermont title loophole" and there are many video on how to do it.
I have such respect for someone who can work on cars, repair them and resell them to customers who really need an affordable vehicle. Keep the videos coming!
A guy I used to work with would go to auctions at our cities impound lot. He would get there early and he had the same paint pens as the impound lot used and he would write stuff on the vehicles like "Bad Tranny", "No Title", "Blown Head Gasket". He said it worked most of the time, scaring people away from bidding on the cars. The guy was quite a character.
HEY! That’s my mom’s old 4Runner in the thumbnail! I remember it had those exact stickers, and it was the same color/trim level! Cool to see it’s still around after 5+ years (we thought it’d be in a scrapyard by now).
A tip to keep in mind for the next time! The key turned to the on position with the engine off will test the check engine light, to make sure the bulb is functioning(it's standard on all vehicles). That is of course if the codes hadn't been cleared or the battery disconnected/discharged. And/or a small scan tool can be a very helpful thing to have assuming the same circumstance, they can give a general idea what to expect when buying the vehicle.

You did great on that Volvo. Change out the pump and go through it thoroughly and it will last a long time. I have a 99 Volvo S70 with only 70k on her and she’s just getting broken in. Started driving it again because the trans started slipping on my 02 Trailblazer. Shouldn’t be upset because it’s got 238k on it, but I am 😢. When you get attached to something that runs great and never had any major problems you drive the hell out of it, right!!! Don’t know what I’m going to fix it or not, want another project 🤣. The Volvo is great but being older the parts are harder to get and more expensive. Whoever your selling it to will get their money’s worth out of it for sure. Nice vehicles. If you are keeping the Ford definitely redo the heads and do the bulletproofing. I know several guys that have those after redoing the heads. 300k plus on them. Volkswagen was a very nice score.
Nice score, those little motors that control the latch mechanism on the rear doors are easy to replace. Got a box of two off EBay for 15 bucks. Dealer wanted to charge my parents a thousand bucks. 😮
You got a smoking deal on that f350 you could sell the leather interior on marketplace for 1200 bucks no problem ! Personally I would get it looking decent and run it I have had 5 of them and ran them all up over 250k with no problems I trust them way more than that 6.5 diesel and you can actually go highway speeds with the superduty

On that Dodge, it's palm down push down (and in) for 1st. Palm up push up (and away) for 2nd. Palm down push down (and in) for 3rd. Just turning your hand over will naturally push or pull the stalk. Nothing good ever came from backing up.
Dude that was a total score! I've been trying to get a Volvo wagon like that one for two years but they're always overpriced here. That truck was a steal for a grand, cool vid dude.
Always wondered how you got such good prices, guess when there's only 3 people bidding! Come to Texas, there's be 500 bidders, the truck would have gone for $15k!
Wow can't believe no one really at that auction! I have a Volkswagen routan their ok. I paid $2000 for mine and it had a check engine for the transmission it's stupid
Kinda scary how long that toyota minivans lasted and how the rust hasnt killed it yet. My dads got a 2013 f150 with almost 300000 miles on her the only reason its lasted that long is its got the 6.0 V8 in her. I dont blame you for not wanting the 5.4 Edit: Im pretty sure its either the 6.2 or 5.0 whoops lol
tip: next time you hear a rattling sound when you start the engine, Take the belt off and start the ending again, if the noise goes away then youll know its a pulley.
That's untrue that the doors on the Volkswagen routans break easily. My dad got a Volkswagen routan in 2016 and the door has never broke. My grandpa had the van before my dad and he had it since new. The slide doors never ever broke and still works. My dad's Routan stands at 225,000 miles today and still runs fine. They are very reliable and the only things we've done to it was oil changes every 3-5k miles and some new springs and alternator and bulbs. Obviously regular break changes and rotors. Other than that completely fine. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
The Routan should be an easy and profitable sell. The Ford F-350 has plenty of 'Vermont Patina', needs some body and interior work but if get lucky at the local junkyard you could make it better. Maybe for the Volvo if go to the junkyard for the p.s. pump, they might have a decent drivers door in the right color. As to titles, NY State didn't require titles until 1966. In about 1976 I bought a beater 1965 Chevy Impala from a friend who had a dealers license who got it from an auction in NY State, only had to have the NYS registration card to transfer ownership to me in New Jersey. Many who have travel trailers and live in NY, NJ, register them in VT as cheaper for registration.
Cool I usually only buy 2500 or 3/4 ton rated trucks my current truck and the only one I have had for almost 2 years is a 2000 dodge ram Laramie slt longbed quad cab 5.2 litre 318 magnum V8 46 RE AT 1500 4x4 got it for $1,500 bad brake lines has a bit of rust but runs strong 176k miles completely rebuilt front end over $1,400 in parts new torque converter and front input shaft seal in the transmission and the front pump truck starts right up in 24 degree weather and carries 60psi consistently at engine operating temperature shifts great so it may not be a gm but I am quite happy with the truck
Dawg that van is so hard yo. It's out of my budget tho hoss. Its at 400 bones already. I'm going to go for the 07 aspen with a hemi currently at $10 with no reserve. Hopefully my $11 bid takes that pimp wagon home. If not ill have to sell crack around the clock to afford it.
Hey man, if you ever need any info, or tips on the 6.0, shoot me a message. I have a few videos of them on my channel. One thing about buying a 6.0 is you become a good 6.0 mechanic fast. I love the truck, great power if you keep them stock. Hopefully someone has not tuned it yet.
That generation Volvo you have to shop carefully. I have one as a daily with 212k on it. They can be a long life vehicle if the fluids are changed, the timing belt service is done, and it's never allowed to overheat. In other words, they can have expensive problems if they were owned by a typical Toyota/Hyundai driver. However, you take care of it, you are looking at 500k+ Because of that, bargains are to be had due to their relative unpopularity.
6.0s get more hate then they deserve. I was talking with a guy that loves them the other day and he said anything still on the road probably didn’t have sand left in the block which was their main issue. I guess the egr coolers fail and cause engine failure too, but it’s preventable. I’d drive one.
I'd love to do this kind of thing with someone. Fixing and flipping cars. It's so scary though. So i just went with buying people's junk cars and scrapping them instead. A lot easier and guaranteed. Much less profit though. Gotta start somewhere though. I'm also making a video game company. Gotta break the mold and be free from retail and crap.
Damn, you’re living my dream. All I want is a house with room to store 3-4 cars. Your lot is perfect for what I’d love to be doing someday. Buying, selling, fixing cars. That’s my dream too. Maybe one day… Til then, Imma live vicariously through you. 😁
Love the videos, buying vehicles in this economy is very challenging!! I drive up 91 north every couple of weeks into southern Vermont and the Hinsdale, nh area. Get to know where all the state cops are sitting for speeders!! On one of your previous videos when you broke down coming back from sc, I recognized that spot and the sign right outside of greenfield!! Good luck on your endeavors.
How come your volts are so low ? in your towing vehicle. I noticed it in the earlier trip too, but at say 18m21s, and the camera focus isn't perfect, but that's a Volts gauge at the top right of the dash display, right ? Well as soon as the engine's started, you should be at 14 volts or so, even at idlespeed, or slightly above. I've had Alternators before that as they aged, their Diodes just got a bit less than perfect and the maximum voltage/current they could produce, kept dropping. After awhile it wouldn't cope with night time running, then later they won't even keep the battery charged with just normal daytime running without headlights. Around then, they're allowing enough power to leak to Earth that unless you take a battery lead off every time you stop for more than 5 minutes, they'll run the battery flat by themselves. Might be good to do a volts check across the battery terminals and make sure you have at least 14 volts while engine running, Fun day at the auction, buying new old cars, is the most fun you can have with your clothes on ! Thanks for taking us along. cheers

Wow.I remember you working on that Caravan years ago.
i literally live acrossed the pond in NY! you were close to me i go to that auction quite alot!!!
Are you inspecting frames for rot before purchasing? Northeast salt is rough. Good luck on the purchases!
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Loving all these videos i’m happy the channel is gonna have some more uploads just another reason why summer is good
Good deals id definitely take that Volvo wagon. I use to go to a DE auction forever but they got way to high
However, you take care of it, you are looking at 500k+
Because of that, bargains are to be had due to their relative unpopularity.
@@stevevarholy2011 just did the timing belt on my s60r 2 weeks ago!
6.0s get more hate then they deserve. I was talking with a guy that loves them the other day and he said anything still on the road probably didn’t have sand left in the block which was their main issue. I guess the egr coolers fail and cause engine failure too, but it’s preventable. I’d drive one.
How much did that Escalade go for??
That auction guys voice burned a whole in my skull
Several nice vehicles for the money as long as theirs no hidden issues you definitely won
How much for that green 4Runner that is an easy flip man !! Know what your looking at !
Good score! That's a flathead six in that old sheriff's car
Really looking forward to seeing more content now that it’s summer and you’ll be posting more up. Always enjoy your vids ARV. Keep them coming!😎
Nice video. The Volvo will be good to go after the fix.
i would do the timing belt as well since it’s an interference motor. #1 thing you should do if you buy any high mileage p2 volvo
Thanks for posting more😊
Whats the update on the the GMC Sierra with the trans mission problem
Damn, you’re living my dream. All I want is a house with room to store 3-4 cars. Your lot is perfect for what I’d love to be doing someday. Buying, selling, fixing cars. That’s my dream too. Maybe one day… Til then, Imma live vicariously through you. 😁
The Greasemobile was the first video I watched of yours many years ago :')
Was a wholesale buyer for big box new car dealerships for 34 years. Miss it every day.
The grease mobile is one the first episodes I watched good to see you got the use out of it.
Car buyers and Disc Golfers? ( yeah, I noticed the DG basket in the background ) COOL! 😊
I’ve been waiting u since u have had 10 subs I’m from Vermont myself and live auctions reselling etc. it’s the best
Would love to bid, but getting them back to the 🇬🇧 might be expensive!
You don't put a scanner on anything?
You bought the van 4 years ago!?!? I remember when you bought the van and I could have sworn it was last year
Best youtube channel!
Always great to see your vids.
Thanks for taking us along. cheers
That Minivan Sounds SO GOOD!!😍
Great video! God bless you and yours! Praying for you!
Ah man, I wish I could of gotten that green 4runner. Such a nice color.
Not bad on the 6.0 if everything checks out might be worth putting a bed on it and fixing the body work. Or just thrash it and sell in the fall 😅😅
Great content! recording tip:slow down your recording movement (panning around is too fast). it's difficult to focus on anything being shown in the video bc the camera is moving around to fast .) Great detail and love the info you are sharing. thanks!
How is the inspection for rust in VT? In NY you can get away with body panel rot (sheet metal). Has to be really bad to fail in NY
Quite a few steals at the auction. Congrats
Shoooot i didn't even know they had an auction in Williston. I been to that place too
Man cars are cheap up there! You look very different with short hair and built. Military, ROTC? Education is great, but continue the hustle! Wish you the best.
I love how the vw van even has the chrysler chime no attempt to change anything from the carvan
I live in Massachusetts and man thank you so much. The amount of money sone people want for used cars out here is ridiculous
